We will be trying a breakfast buffet or family style breakfast on our last morning at WDW. Who has the best breakfast buffet and/or family style breakfast at WDW outside of the parks? Everytime I think I know which to pick, I change my mind. Our children range in ages from 11-3. We care about taste, but also want a great experience for the family. Any thoughts on what we should go with?

For family style, I'd probably pick WCC.....Buffet, Cape May. Cape May is my favorite non-park character buffet breakfast.

We did Cape May on our departure day last year.
The food was very good, hot and fresh and the characters were awesome!

Best breakfast buffets-Cape May Cafe and Tusker House. Crystal palace also pretty good.

Best family style is Norway princess breakfast or 'Ohana. We have had very bad breakfast food at Cinderella's castle breakfast...decided to permanately drop it in 2007.

I really enjoyed Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. You can order a family style skillet with lots of great breakfast items and the atmosphere is fun for kids. If you're looking for a character breakfast we also like Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. I've heard that 1900 Park Fare has a good breakfast buffet as well.

We loved 1900 Park Fare. We went the first time becuase of Alice in Wonderland, but have returned since because we enjoyed the food so much.

We've done Whispering Canyon and it was great.....Wanting something different. Cape May sounds tempting, but the fact that is a seafood place for lunch and dinner concerns me. One of my daughters is terribly allergic to seafood. All she has to do is smell or touch it and things start to go bad quickly. This is a source of frustration for us because we are a seafood loving family. Anyway, that boils it down to Ohana and 1900PF. Thanks guys.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I would suggest Cape May Cafe. Good food, relaxed and somewhat lower key than most character breakfasts, nice character interaction.

'Ohana was fun...but don't go if you want the best food.

How allergic is your DD?
Cape May doesn't serve lunch so there is a time gap between meals, however I think most of the buffets will have lox to go with the bagles in the morning and Ohana's serves shrimp with dinner.:confused3

Good luck!

I understand your concern but the Cape May buffet doesn't have fish on their menu (unless it is lox like one PP mentioned), and there is no lunch buffet with fish on it, in fact there is no lunch buffet at all so your DD should be safe from that. I would also highly recommend Cape May Cafe, this is a a must do for our family every time we go to Disney. But if you are really concerned with your child's health/safety over fish, then my other suggestion would be Kona Cafe breakfast at the Poly. They have a very good breakfast menu, and I don't think any of it has fish on it. One thing to remember about the breakfast buffets, I think lox is on most of them because they all serve bagels...just an FYI. Good luck

We are in WDW now and ate at Boma and Cape May, tons of pics and full reviews in my Nov link. Cape May was awesome, Boma not so much

So cool to see each other on different boards! Browsing different topics, and oh wait! I know her! :yay:

Best Breakfast Family Style hands down is O'Hana and bonus that it is a character meal. I went for the second time this August for my DH's 40th B-Day celebration weekend.

Luckily we were given a seat right in front of the window looking out to the Castle. Magical....

They begin with the bread basket (Pineapple bread- OMG mmmm!) and a wonderful fresh fruit plate. Followed with coffee and O'Hana Juice.

Skillet comes filled with bacon, eggs, nice plump and flavorful sausages and the best potato wedges on property. So good.... and they ask if you want more of anything. Then someone comes around with a basket of Mickey Waffles.

Service is prompt and quick but you do not feel rushed.

Then the characters come around.... Mickey, Pluto, My Girl Lilo and Stitch.

Good interactions and they spend time with you. Later there is a parade and the kids can march around with the characters. Good times!!!

We did this the morning we left and it made for a nice parting memory.....without having to go to a park.

I think you would really enjoy this and seeing the Poly is also a nice touch.

Ditto on Ohana's best friends breakfast. It was actualy the best meal we had and the characters were great we got lots of great pictures.
