Calling all CR Experts - ? about Upgrades at CR ?

Has anyone upgraded from Garden View to Tower or Tower to 14th floor at check in?

If so, about what was the additional cost a night?

We were upgraded from tower to tower club two years ago, because after waiting to check in time, there was a problem with the room ( I don't know exactly what because we didn't even get to go up ), and we were upgraded to tower club. When the CM told me the room was on the 12th floor , I asked , the room is on the 12th floor? she said yes, have a wonderful birthday ( it was my birthday actually ). It was actually part of the land/sea cruise , of course they spoiled us with that!
Later on I found out they were sold out for the month basically and since my original room was not available , they bumped us up to tower club. No complaints from me!

If you want to upgrade, you can always ask when you check in and ask how much more it would be, don't expect it for free because chances are it won't happen, but if it's not too much more, you may be able to afford it. You don't know if you don't ask.

we were there last dec. and did ask how much extra it was for an upgrade to the tower. it was around $50 per night, so we did it . It was the best room we have ever had at this resort, 9th floor overlooking the MK. we are going back in sept. and already booked a tower room, I think last year really spoiled my girlfreind, now she doesn't want anything but a tower room

I was planning to book a tower on our next trip. I was just wondering the approximate cost of an upgrade to concierge at check in. I know WL and AKL do this for around $40.

Wasn't sure if CR did it too.

We checked into the CR last Thanksgiving about 10am. We were booked in a garden wing room, well at check in she CM says to me wow you have a nice upgrade!! I say I do? She says yes you were upgraded to the 11th floor of the Tower and your room is ready!! Well I nearly passed out as stuff like this never happens to us....It did not cost me any extra. I also stayed at the AKL and the WL that trip and it did not happen again!! Just once was enough for me, this year we are booked in the tower!!

We were there last August 17-24 and at check in I asked if there was any complimentary upgrades available and if not how much more would it be to upgrade. Well, I got an attitude back and the fee to upgrade was astronomical. I dont expect anything for free however I was advised on this board it never hurts to ask and receieve magical pixy dust. So dont expect an upgrade- just be happy if it comes along and remember disney is the place to be and so is the contemporary

We were just in WDW in April of this year with a wing room booked at the CR. We wanted very much to be in the tower and because of reading these boards decided to ask for an upgrade. No complimentary upgrade was offered and they wanted another $600 to upgrade. We said that was too much for our budget and went on getting the assigned room for the wing. Then my husband said how about $300 and the lady went back into a room behind the desks and came out and said okay $350. We hesitantly said okay. She said to wait again and went back in the room again and came back and said $325. We took it and were not disappointed. What a view- 11th floor facing the MK!! We got to pick our floor and view and it was wonderful. We are spoiled to the tower now, and only want to stay there. The convienence is unreal. Just hop on the elevator and go down a few floors and hop on the monorail. Sure is nice when it is late and you are returning from the parks also. We love the CR Tower!!

Me again-
IN my previous thread I meant to say that we stayed for 7 nights- so that makes it about $45 extra per night that we paid for the upgrade!!

I was just going to ask that!

Thank you. This is exactly what I wanted to know. I'll still book tower for our next trip, but I'll ask about upgrades.
