Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Good Afternoon Everyone! :flower3: sorry i haven't been posting much lately. work is really busy and i've developed an unhealthy addiction to Bejeweled on facebook  not much new here. still waiting on the condo stuff. if we don't hear anything within the next week we are pulling the plug on it. we just don't have the time to wait around anymore b/c even if we do get the paperwork next week it will take HUD 6-8 weeks to review it and then what if it's declined anyway? :confused3 so i suppose it's back to the grind.

Stitch ~ we're here for you!

ID ~ I agree, it is depressing when the Xmas decorations are all taken down but just think that means spring and summer are right around the corner... yeah, i know... wishful thinking:laughing:

donna ~ glad to hear you had a nice holiday.

momto1~ if those munchkins were in my office they would be on the desk behind me... the box would be on my desk and empty:laughing: i love munchkins

slo ~ wow, you sure did get a lot accomplished yesterday! i wish i had your motivation!

bunchy ~ that's a great story about the semi's. i would have definitely freaked out! I really wish we were driving for the wedding solely for the adventure! maybe someday! :goodvibes

geffric, tiggern, dan, piglet, sk8leigh and everyone ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

What a bright sunny day today :sunny:
The calm before the storm :cold:

momto1 - Has your DH done any shows lately? I haven't - maybe in the spring :flower:

Donna - I've never been a parent that's glad to get rid of my kids either:sad2:. I love them to be home with me as much as possible!!!!:goodvibes

ID - Good luck on your NY resolution :wizard: I don't do many resolutions, but I did one about 3 years ago, and that was for me to sit down and watch tv every night at 9pm, no matter what!!!! I've stuck to it, and I've slept better ever since - I really need the downtime before I go to bed.

Stitchfans - I agree with piglet ::yes:: You should ask at the hospital if there are any support groups that you could attend. My mom does this because my dad has Alzheimers, and I believe it helps her alot!!! Continued prayers for all of you!!!:grouphug:

piglet - :wave2:

DG - Continued good luck with the condo:wizard:I hope everything works out for you!!!!
**My motivation is to do nothing on Sunday. I really LOVE winter Sundays when I can sit around all day and watch tv, or play games, with the girls. It's a good incentive for me to get everything done during the week!!!

Well, I must get back to work - I have a decent amount of stuff to do:thumbsup2

Have a good rest of the day, and be careful in the snow tomorrow!!!!!

Morning guys! All I have to say about the weather is - YUCK! Just home from dropping DNephew at preschool and it is brutal driving out there. Can't imagine what it's going to be like by school dismissal. :sad2: Wonder if dance and volleyball will be cancelled for tonight. (keeping my fingers crossed)

DD8 was one unhappy girl this morning. She was convinced that they'd get a snow day today. She did all the tricks, snow dance, pj's inside out, spoon under the pillow, not sure where kids come up with this stuff.

Have a meeting at DSs school this morning, he's struggling a bit this year so the whole team is meeting to put together some new goals and strategies. Should be very interesting.......

slo - I'm not good at NY resolutions either but I've been going to bed later and later which does not go well with the early alarm. ;)

disneygal - best of luck on the condo stuff!
*Yeah right, spring is right around the corner. I'm just focusing on the count down for our spring break vaca to HHI. :cloud9:

Stitchfans - continued  and prayers for your family. I agree with piglet, is there a support group or something you can find?

Well, have to jump in the shower before the meeting. Not looking forward to going back out in the snow. Only good thing is DH is working from home so he'll do the driving. :) Have a great day and be safe out there!

Treatment #4 Wednesday morning. Dreading this snow storm they are predicting. So tired of shoveling snow. So wishing winter would end soon and be over with. So wishing DH was home well and all was back to normal. All my sense of security is slowly vanishing in front of my eyes. I am starting to feel hopeless. Need to get out of this dark place and stay strong since I have a 15 yr old daughter to take care of. Have to keep up my faith.

 for your family..
I agree with ID and piglet, is there a support group or something you can find?

I guess I have accepted Geoff is gone.

yesterday when I got home from work, I clean Geoff's room... put things aways, cleaned the top of his desk and dresser, ( I did notice a lot of contacts.. maybe he will have to wear his glasses) did laundry especally his blanket and vaccumed.. it looks so nice now..

so I guess he is gone at least until May..

DS#2 got his ACT results.. it was a practice one to let him know when he needs to study...although I sent the results to IA, IN, ILL and OHIO State - the real one will be in April.. already got a nice letter from IN re
garding receiving the scores..

I am home today. putting off shoveling the driveway again.. guess I'll clean and do some laundry. Tonight will be busy with BSA and tomorrow I work at both jobs..

hi to all..

Yikes!!! What a snowy morning!!!!
The girls were really hoping for a 2 hour delay, but they didn't get it -thank goodness!!! This is my early day to go to work, so I can leave by 3:30pm, and I really glad I was able to get here by 8:30am:thumbsup2

The snow is really coming down steady here.
I've had to go outside now, and knock the snow off my No Parking signs, in front of the store, twice now.
I need to keep those clear so people, except my customers, don't park in these spots.
I don't think I'll have any customers today though - this isn't a great day for shopping!!!!!:sad2:

ID - For your NY resolution, I would make an exact time you want to go to bed, and really stick to it. Even if it means stopping what you are doing and going to bed. That's what I did for the tv thing. There are nights that I am folding laundry, and I will literally stop at 9pm so I can go watch tv. Everything can wait until tomorrow, or the next day, and we all have to put ourselves first sometimes to stay healthy in body and mind:thumbsup2 My girls even know now that at 9pm, my day is done, and to not bother me (unless it's really important of course). I hope your resolution works out for you and it has for me :wizard:

Bunchkin - Can we all pack up and come live with you for 6 months - this snowy weather is such a drag!!!!! :cold:

Well, I gotta go get back to work so I can get out of here when I want to.
Have a good day, and be safe out there!!!

Afternoon all! Kids had early release from school today. Wondering if they will go at all tomorrow. From what I hear, it won't even be a good day to do any outdoor activities. Too cold.:sad2:Just a waste of a day for me. I had planned to take down the Christmas decor, but that won't happen if they are under foot.
Got the drive and sidewalks shoveled. Mother Nature nearly played a cruel trick on my Ball-A-Holic Dog.:laughing:He lost his ball in a snow drift.:rotfl:I thought I may have to take him in the house suffering withdrawals! Luckily, I saw where it sunk in and was able to retrieve it for the Retriever!:rolleyes1
Slo, hope you had a customer or 2 today in spite of the weather.
Bunchkin, so wishing I was visiting with you today!! And tomorrow!! And......
Hello to everyone and hoping you all stay safe and warm in your cozy homes!

wow.. you have been busy!!

i did shovel the drive and the walk but you would never know it because more snow has fallen. My kid is still at school and at after school stuff.. no letting them out here..

Hi all!!

:sunny: Sunny day here, as usual. 63 is the high for today and 58 tomorrow. 60's for the weekend.
:sunny:

Come and visit if you like!! Friendly faces are welcome!! :goodvibes

Remember to drive slow everyone!! Don't try driving like you're on Test Track!!

Hi gang! 2 hour commute to get to work this am. I wonder how long to get home? I am leaving soon. All after school activities were cancelled. I wonder about school for tomorrow?

Bunchkin - You wouldn't mind if we all chartered a plane and came to see you real soon, would you? Ah....63 degrees!

Slo - Nope, dh hasn't done any shows lately but is working on scheduling some. He has had several online orders which is good! I hope you had some traffic today.

DG - Good luck on the condo!

Tiggern - My dog found a rubber snake under all the snow in the garden yesterday. How? Who knows? She was running around the yard waving the snake like a lasso in the air!

Going home! Drive safe everyone!
Lori

No one wanted to come visit me when it was 116. But now that it is way nicer here then there.....sure....I see how you all are!!

We don't want to be HERE when it's 116º, why go down there for the same? 63º we can handle! :thumbsup2

5th treatment this morning. I am so sore and tired from shoveling that stupid snow. Did not finish or do a very good job because my chest kept tightening up. It scared me so I gave up. It was too windy and too cold. What I did will have to do. Besides due to a fence along side my driveway I am running out of places to throw the snow.

Oh and yes, thank you. I found some support groups that I will start going to once the weather cooperates. There is one Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Since called DD out of school yesterday due to the snow and not being able to tell where the driveway ended and the street started I made sure to it that I go her there today.

I was so disappointed with myself for being a so weak and such a fraidy cat with the snow. I never considered myself a weak person until now. I have to stop wimping out if at all possible.

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. Hurray we have the weekend to look forward to. Lets hope the snow is gone for a while.

first of all, shoveling is dangerous - people have heart attaches etc while shoveling.. so don'y consider your self weak..

Can you get a service so get stress off of you for the moment?

I shoveled 2 times yesterday but today was a lot of snow and yes it was fluffy but the places to put it are high and there was more than I planned.. so it was a lot of work..

called into work to see if they had me down but nope no need today.. maybe Sunday for stage set..

Hi gang! TFI! Miraculously it only took me 45 minutes to get home last night. That is better than some non-snow day commutes! This morning was fine too.

Stitch - Careful shoveling! I am glad that you found a support group. Hang in there - brighter days are coming.

Saturday YMCA basketball starts tomorrow for ds. It is a nice laid back time. It is only for 8 Saturdays, too.

Nothing else planned except the usual - cooking, shopping, laundry, cleaning.

Better get back to work. Have a great weekend!
Lori

Hey everyone! Yay for snow...just not at the right time. It the week before finals so we were knew there would be no snow days Thursday or Friday =( Plus I can't snowboard because finals are next week. Normal school Monday then finals Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and four day weekend. Ugh, as soon as I log off here it's off to study/do my finals work: one presentation, one essay, 3 tests. Fun stuff right? Not as...

geffric-I hope your DS#2 did well on his ACT! Good luck to him on the next one! I'm so glad I never have to take that again, two times was enough for me.
Stitchfans- As much as I love the snow, I wish it would disappear for you.

Welp, I'm off to start my presentation for my final and then study all weekend long. The light at the end of the tunnel, I'll be a second semester senior next weekend!

DH was told it will be at least 3 more treatments which means 1 more week in the hospital, Meanwhile the medical bills are pouring in. I just started a pile. I refuse to give them money out of our savings since that is what we are living on.

I reported the two drs (the one who said he had no soul & the one he asked help from and just sent him home with his new prescription) to the license regulation board in Springfield and just received letters claiming they would be investigated. Not sure what can or will be done but at least I hope neither one can hurt anyone else again.

Need to keep my mind off of all this. Lately it feels like it is me against the world and the world is whipping my butt. wish I had someone I could count on to actually help. Thank goodness I have you all to listen to me. I have that at least. Thank you!

Hi all. Have a taste for bacon and eggs but hate to eat alone. Am patiently waiting for DD to get up so we can eat breakfast together. :rolleyes1

Later today we will go up to the hospital to see DH. Haven't seen that much of him and really miss him. Tomorrow starts DD's finals at school. :headache:Always a dreadful time, at least for her.

I'm in a better mood. Find myself falling into a dreadful blue mood too often. Need to snap out of that. At least my muscles aren't aching any more from shoveling. Hopefully the snow will give me a break and stay away for a while. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. See that no one is around so that must mean you all are out and about. Either that or I scared everyone away with my gloominess. Sorry. Will try to be less gloomy.

Enjoy the sunshine for as long as it lasts. Hope you all have some out your way.

I hope you all had a good weekend!!!

My weekend was great!!!
Friday night the girls and I played Uno Attack - what a fun game!!!:) Stephanie got it for Christmas, and we really had some good laughs. Katie was starting to get very frustrated, because she kept getting tons of cards, and her little hands couldn't hold all of them.

Saturday I worked in the morning, and then in the evening we went out with our neighbors w/o the kids:yay:We went to Weber Grill for dinner, and then came back to our house to hang out. We played darts, and played alot of Wii bowling until 2:30am. We really had a good time!!!

Sunday we just hung out at home all day - exactly what I like in the winter:thumbsup2 I played Wii with the girls, and then watched a lot of tv -it was great!!!:thumbsup2

Stitchfans - you aren't being to gloomy for us  I am so glad that we are here for you:grouphug:
**I'm so glad you found some support groups - I think they will really help you!!!
**That's great that your DH has only 3 more treatments left - I pray that they are helping him.
**Good luck to your DD with her finals:wizard:
**Try not to stress out about the bills. I would call the places you owe money and explain your situation - hopefully they will put you on an easy payment plan.

To everyone else - :wave2:

I am currently waiting for The Birdcage to download so I can put that movie on my ipod - I love itunes gift cards!!!! I'm using my itunes money for only movies, because I get my music from the library.

I'm off and running!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!
