Calling all Chicago DISers #3

SATURDAY!!! :cool1:

I was going to make a cinnamon pull apart for breakfast this morning but when I got to the fridge there were no Pillsbury biscuits in there, which is what the recipe called for, and I know they were there......so where did they go to??:confused3 It's like they disappeared!!!

Is anyone interested in buying a Wii Fit for Christmas?
There is a coupon for $30 off for Toys R' Us reward members, which is free to sign up for. The coupon is only good for through this weekend. I can PM a link to anyone who is interested. And the info can be found on TRU's Facebook page. That is a GOOD coupon!!!! ::yes::

Hunter did really well at the dentist considering!!! They are soooo great at that office! They have him the laughing gas first and then numbed him up. While the numbing was taking effect one of the assistants sat above his head telling him a great story about a lady who bakes cookies for lots of kids just like Hunter and kept asking him to breath in the smell of the cookies through out the story. It really helped him relax and at that point they shot him with the needle. He really didn't move at all! He did end up needing another shot of novacaine as he was starting to feel pain when they were taking his tooth out. But he got through it rather well. He brought along one of his Webkinz to hug!! And they brought in an singing and dancing Christmas dog at one point to entertain him!!! And all along there was a Christmas movie playing on the over head tv above him.
He's not in any real pain today. Thank goodness!

slo Hope today goes well!!!

irish dancer Sounds like you have an easy week coming up.
Did you ever find out what happened with your son that got him upset?

Kim That's great price for those Crocs!

momto1 I love that craft show at the High School! I lived right down the road from there. :sad1:

Gotta run! Have a great day everyone!!! :wave2:

Bunchkin What a great dentist! I am glad Hunter is painfree.

Slo I think you are referring to the stations of the cross. Somehow we learned about them without such a graphic movie.

Kim You had a great day for the zoo.

Hi gang! I didn't get any Christmas shopping done today except for a few small items - ornament for the dog, ornament for Jon, recycle coke wrapper wallet for Jon, and 2 packs of sports trading cards. At this rate, I might ever get done.

I just dropped Jon off at a party and saw the coolest thing. We were driving in kind of a rural area and my mom saw a deer off to the side of the road. We looked and then realized the deer had a huge set of antlers. Then the deer starts running toward us to cross the street right in front of our car. We had stopped to watch and then other cars were line up behind us. It was a beautiful sight. It gave me goosebumps!

Slo - Hope the show was fantastic! I haven't heard a report as of yet. Have fun at the lighting ceremony tonight.

Geffric - yea, I thought the same thing about plastic shoes. But, they are really so comfy. Like KimRaye, I got a pair of Bears one for just under $9 for dh for Christmas.

KimRaye - I hope you had fun at the zoo. Was it the community tree trimming day? Weather was great for a zoo day. Congrats to your dd on her Communion Day.

Bunchkin - The craft show in Lockport was absolutely packed! Hope Hunter continues to do good.

Better get some work done while I am all alone at home! Have a great rest of the weekend.
Lori

That craft show is always packed! In the 11yrs we lived in that area, I cannot remember a time that it wasn't packed.

KimRaye - I hope you had fun at the zoo. Was it the community tree trimming day? Weather was great for a zoo day.
Is that what it's called? :confused3 She was there with her junior Girl Scout troop.

Hope you did great today slo!

I've got church in the am, I better go.

Hi guys. Another Chicagoan here. Just got back from the world last week. How's everybody?

Morning everyone!

Bunchkin- I know what you mean about things disappearing in your home. It happens at mine all the time. You set something down, come back, and it is gone. But no one knows what happened to it. :confused3:laughing: I also love craft shows, used to go to them all the time. Not so lately though cause the crafters have become so high. Want way too much for their item.

Wow, sounds like most of you have a much busier life then me.

Well nothing else to say so hi to Kim, Geffric, momto1,Hersey,SLo, Id, Jgazde and hope I did not miss anyone else. Everyone have a great day!!

went to church this morning.
your backs are covered for the week........

momto1, if you lived where i do, you would be kind of sick of the deer after a while.........

you know, if you hit one of them, the deer usually gets up and runs away while you have a car that doesn't run anymore......

i have had deer in my yard before.........

This looks sooo cool! Thanks!

I'm glad this weekend is over - it was very very busy!!!
This week isn't going to be any better :sad2:
I've have alot to do at work with work, and putting up that Christmas tree.
Then I need to get this disaster, called a house, ready for Thanksgiving.
To much to do, and not enough time :sad2:

Speaking of Christmas trees - my first tree is up :santa:
I love how the living room looks with this tree - just love it!!!!!:goodvibes
I didn't do the rest of the decorating - I will save that for this weekend :thumbsup2

geffric - I'm glad your enjoying your job :)

Stitchfans - I'm sorry your DD is staying away because of her father :guilty: I think about her often, and hope that everything works out for her. Please continue keeping us posted on how she is doing

Bunchkin - I"m so glad Hunter did well at the dentist!!!!:)

HERSEY - It's the 5 mysteries of the Rosary the teacher was trying to show. The Stations of the Cross would be revealed in this movie too ::yes::

momto1 - I have those deer right next to my house everyday. We live in that town, and our house is very close to that school. I live on a dead end, with a forest next to us, so those deer are literally 10 feet away from my picture window everyday - it's so cool!!!!! :)
**I met your DH and he's a very nice man!!!!:) I was glad he introduced himself!!!!

Kim - I did very very little sales at the show, which was very disappointing :guilty: I did get alot of awareness of the store though, so that was good. This was very inexpensive advertising for me. Now I just hope some of these people remember me

jgazda - :welcome:
Welcome to our happy home!!!!:goodvibes Please come by often, so we can get to know you!!!!

mac - Thanks for covering our backs this weekend, because I didn't go to church this weekend :guilty: I really miss it when I don't go.

Well, it's time to get this crazy week started.
Have a good Monday everyone!!!

Good Monday morning guys! Well, I braved the grocery stores this weekend and have all the fixins for Thursday. We'll have MIL and BIL over, a small group but nice. I LOVE Tgiving dinner, all my favorites!

DS is off this week, we have his conference Tues night. The girls have only have today and tomorrow then they're off. We're going to BILs cabin in Wisconsin for the weekend, should be interesting.................

slo - sorry you didn't have more sales at the show but hopefully the exposure will bring people in.
*I know what you mean about a disaster house, it seemes no matter how much I straighten it's a mess again in no time!
**No decorations up inside yet but I did do the outside lights yesterday since it was so nice.

mac - Woo Hoo - a new show! Thanks for the listings, got the HGTV one scheduled and will check out the Entertainment Tonight one.
*Thanks for covering our backs, we didn't get to church yesterday either.

Stitchfans & Bunchkin - I have that very same gremlin that takes things in my house, they also make messes and don't clean up after themselves. ;)

Stitchfans - so sorry about your exDH and DD . Will keep her in my thoughts and hope things get better for her.

jgazda - Welcome to the thread! Always glad to have new posters, hope you come by often!

momto1 - cool deer sighting. We DO NOT live in a rural or wooded area but Salt Creek runs behind the houses across the street and on two occasions lately there have been deer in the front yard across the street. Kids thought it was cool!

Bunchkin - Yea for Hunter!! So glad all went well.
*It was a combination of things that got DS upset. First, his teacher was out at a conference so he had a sub. Then in gym the teacher was teaching them to dribble the ball and was having them guard and try to keep another student from stealing the ball. Nothing too bad about that except for kids on the Autism Spectrum already have a lot of anxiety and trouble with losing so it caused DS to freak a bit when someone stole his ball. Third there was a altercation on the playground with another child at lunch recess. Add all these up and he couldn't handle it anymore.

geffric - so glad you're having fun at TDS. Best of luck to Eric on the Legoland job, hope he gets it!

Well, I guess I can't put off the laundry any longer. Time to start cleaning this dump too. Have a great day everyone, they are forecasting sun for this afternoon - I hope so! :santa:

I got the store all decorated yesterday, and it looks great!!!!:santa:
I transfered all my Christmas music from my itunes libraray to my ipod (I have 11 hours worth of Christmas music), so we can listen to that this year, instead of the radio, or XM (they play the same music all the time - it's gets rather boring to listen to).
I'm glad that chore is done!!!!! :thumbsup2

ID - We have all our groceries too :thumbsup2
Our dinner goes as follows.....
Me - Corn Pudding, Candied Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin Cheesecake (I buy that)
Kevin - The turkey
MIL - Mashed pototoes and salad
Mom - Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Chocolate Pudding Pie
I can taste this dinner already!!!! :teeth:

It's time to go to get me started around the house before work.
Yesterday morning I did some laundry, cleaned up a pinch, and set the dining room table. This morning I need to vaccuum, clean 1 bathroom, and do some other things. I can get a lot done before work if I really hustle :thumbsup2

Have a good day!!!

Quick driveby before I jump in the car and head for work.

Hope everyone is doing well. Things have been busy nothing in particular just general busy.

Slo I have discovered I haven't taken all my halloween stuff down yet!:rotfl2: I haven't even begun to think christmas decorations.

I did get one of Alex's gifts in the mail yesterday so I am on my way. One down 900 to go :rotfl:

Mac how are you feeling these days? Thanks for the listings as usual.

I am going to a friends home for thanksgiving. I get to bring the desserts :woohoo: I need to start the baking tonight. I also need to finish her daughter's birthday cake, all I need to do is fill, frost and decorate. All the really fun stuff, I love this part:love:

THanks for the warm welcome everyone. Happy fake hump day! Only two more days of work until we stuf our faces and browse the black Friday ads.

Good morning all. I have some news. I called Capital One, and they are helping with that $500.00 that O'Shea, Inc cheated me out of. Didn't know they could do this but the representative from CO claims they can take the funds back and deduct them from O'Shea's account. :confused3 He said in a rebuttal that is how it is done. :confused3 Will have to wait and see if Bob Doyle responds to that. He so far has ignored all my calls, letters, letters from BBB, and Lisa Madagan's office. No doubt losing the money will make her reappear.

Cross your fingers for oldest DD she is going for a job interview today at a hospital in OKC. That would be perfect since her friend, Lisa's apartment is there. From her old apartment that would of been a hike.

jgadza- did not realize you were new to us. :wave2::welcome:

ID- I hear you. Dominicks was so crowded with the shoppers. You would of thought they were giving the food away. As usual when I got home I discovered a few items that I needed and did not pick up so I will have to go out again.

SLO- You are something. Working outside of the home and doing so much in one day. I am at home working on the computer and do not get as much done. Staring at the screen tires me. Who can figure? I finished all the corrections and reprinted my "steamy" romance novel and have it all ready to sent out to Harlequin. (do not need an agent for them) Once the fogs lifts I will go out to the post office to send it off. Still have to "clean up" the other two before I can let an agent see them. Still waiting to hear from my query letters. Hasn't been that long so I better just relax sit back and be patient.

ID- thanks for the well wishes for DD. I have a feeling all will work out well for her. Just have to have faith. Some how some way things always do work out in the end. silly me I already posted a remark to you. well this should of been added in there. Told you all I wasn't good at this.

Well should be working on those other books. Guess I will read a few more threads than get at it. Take care everyone, and have a great day!

Hey everyone! It was a busy weekend. I worked a double on Friday (steady, not super busy). Then dh had a friend and his friend's daughter come down on Saturday. That was nice- shopped, had lunch, and the girls played together (ds retreated to his room!). Sunday we did some cleaning and organizing in anticipation of TGiving. Monday I did some shopping and painted the guest bathroom, but it did not go well at all. I think the old paint was glossy and I did not use a primer. Ugh. It was showing through and has visible drips! Still tacky, too. Then, when I peeled the tape off, some paint came off! Needlless to say, I was a little grumpy after this project. It looks okay if you don't look to closely!
Stitch- Good luck to dd! Hopefully, things only get better for her and the mess she is having to go through! Believe me, I have my share of divorce related stories. Yuck!
jgazda- Welcome!
Slo- I am thinking of making corn pudding. Never made it. Would you mind pm'ing me the recipe?
ID- I will brave the grocery store later tonight, after about 8. Shouldn't be too bad.
Mac- I saw the advertisements and already have the DVR set!
Momto- what a sweet deer story! I have a gross one, though. We were driving up 55 around noon and I saw a guy sawing off a dead deer's head. WTH...what is he going to do with it and why does he have a saw in the trunk. I was a little traumatized!

You'll probably see a lot of posts from me today. I am trying to be lazy and relax today. It is difficult. I am used to being busy. I don't know what to do with myself!:rotfl2:

Morning guys! Ugh, I think I need a nap! DD8 came into our room at 4:43a, she has a problem with bad dreams. Well, I knew I had to be up at 6a so I couldn't fall back to sleep. I finally did and then my alarm didn't go off. :scared: Thankfully I woke up at 6:30a, had to leave by 6:45a so it was a shower at light speed. Took my mom to the hospital, she is having a full knee replacement today. Expecting all to go well but still nervous.

paint - love the decoration pics, are they from this year? I haven't done any inside decorations yet, just outside.
*Sorry the paint job gave you trouble, those little jobs turn out to be a pain sometimes.
**Have fun being lazy!

Stitchfans - great news on Capital One!! That is one benefit to using a credit card.
*Fingers crossed and prayers being said for your DD, hope all goes well on her job interview.

slo - aren't Christmas decorations great! I just LOVE them, I can't wait to put up our tree. :cloud9:
*Yumm, your menu sounds great. We'll have turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, corn, rutabega and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Can't wait.

Well, I think I'll go take some vitamin D since it doesn't look like we'll see the sun for a while. Also need to vacuum, clean the bathroom and wash the kitchen floor. Hope everyone has a great day! :santa:

On, no! I have heard that happens but have never seen it! I would be traumatized, too! That is sad.
