Hi everyone! Happy hump day! I have a ton of homework due this week and next. It is stressing me out right now! Anyway, ds and I went on an archaeology weekend in southern IL last weekend. I think I almost froze to death. We were outside all weekend. We had chances to warm up between activities, but it wasn't enough for me to thaw. By the time we got back from our night hike, my lips and underneath my fingernails were blue! The next day wasn't too bad, since we were outside and it was getting warmer rather than colder. We also went to Old Settler's Days. It's this place with typical fair food and crafts, plus old time re-enactments (lye soap making, canon firing, etc). There are also those hardcore people that live like a settler a few weekends a year-their own realistic teepees and clothes-interesting. Ooh,ds and I did find a 2,000 year old piece of animal bone in our dig site, which was way cool!
ID- I can't believe you cccccamped. That's my teeth chattering at the thought!
Slo- At least I amsure your dh has delivered a few babies, right?

Happy Wednesday peeps!


Today I am volunteering at DS's school. They are having ice cream for the classes that got the most parents to join the PTA. Last week I became the class rep at the PTA meetings.
Yesterday I helped his teacher for 4 hours in the classroom.
And this Friday is the school's Fall Fest! Should be lots of fun for the kids.

Kim Sorry to hear you didn't totally love MNSSHP. I agree that it is hard to see and do everything. You got to plan it just right! We learned that from experience. last time we got way more in than our first time.

irishdancer Too bad you didn't get to go on the motorcycle run.
What a lame banquet hall!!! I wonder if the bride and groom had lots of guests coming up to them and making comments, that would have been hard to deal with on their special day.

paint Your weekend sounded totally fun but seriously cold!! Brrr!
I don't have a camera cord for the computer. And I didn't take a lot of pics during the tour, too busy moving and having fun.

Tiggerrn I cannot get myself to shell out the money for 2 movies that I have on DVD. Especially since they are charging the extra 3D charge per movie per person.



I have to run. I was at DS's school so long yesterday that I didn't get to the grocery store. And we kinda need food here!!

Hi gang! I am leaving work soon to go stand in 40 degree weather to watch my son run! I can't believe this cold weather. Oh, well, I will have on a wnter coat and he will be running in shorts and a sleeveless shirt. I hope he has his running pants and an under amour shirt for a little bit of warmth.

I have been checking airfare on Southwest for spring break. OUCH!! I really don't want to dirve but we might have to since we are going back in July for the baseball tournament. I will check daily and see what comes up.

Bunchkin - You weekend DL jaunt sounded fun! Have fun with your PTO responsibilities at school.

Paint - Good luck on getting the homework done. Your weekend sounds fun - cold - but fun!

Slo - Jonathan was too stubborn to be born in a car. He was nice and comfy and took his own sweet time coming into this world.

Hi guys! Only two days left until the weekend - yeah! Although this weekend will be busy again. BIL owns a log cabin in Wisconsin and the whole family is going up for the weekend. That's right, 8 people in a two bedroom cabin for the weekend! We won't be up until late on Friday night, there is a pumpkin fest on Saturday and then we'll leave early Sunday so DD12 can go to Great America with her aunt and cousin so it shouldn't be too bad - hopefully......

momto1 - brrrr, I hope you and DS survived the weather at the meet and hope he did well too!

Bunchkin - thanks for the run down on the tour, sounds GREAT! I'm really hoping to make it out to DLR in the next year or two. DS saw the new things planned and he wants to hit CarsLand when it opens.
*I felt so bad at the wedding, when they came around to the tables they asked if our food was cold. They didn't look pleased.

paint - best of luck with all the homework!
*We weren't camping in tents, there was a cabin with HEAT thankfully. I don't know that I would have braved it if we were in tents.

dgr - I'd love to sneak in your suitcase too! I hope you have a great trip!

slo - I had not heard about that but I wasn't listening to the radio this morning. Wish my kids had come that quickly/easily!

Tiggerrn - iron.......what's that? Truthfully though, I don't really iron that much at all and have been known not to buy something if I know I'll have to iron it.
*I too hope my nephew and wife were compensated in some way. I was so tempted to send a letter of complaint to the banquet mgr. It was just so wrong.

Hersey - hope the brakes are working well, I needed them this summer and DH did them himself after getting a quote from the dealership.

disneygal - hope you have a safe and fun trip to Ohio for the wedding. Luckily you won't have to worry about being cold on your wedding!

Bad night here.

DD was out for a bike ride before dinner when she almost got run over by a car. She swerved and her handle bars hit an SUV parked in the street. She hit the pavement face first and broke a front tooth. A classmate of Hunter's was following her around and came and told us what happened. Some people out for a walk came and helped her right away. 2 of which were dentists!!!
So we're off to the new dentist tomorrow morning. Thank goodness for dental insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and the car kept going, never stopped.

The girls don't have school today
Which meant no rushing to do homework last night, and no rushing to get them out the door this morning I wish I could take advantage of them being home, and have the day off today, but I'm still catching up from being shut down, and I'm actually going to work early today


dgr - I bet he was surprised why he was stuck in traffic when he heard about it later. When I heard on the news what happened to her, and she was on the news talking about it, I thought it was wild that she's the one reporting about things like that happeneing, and her it happened to her Pretty wild!!!

paint - I"m sorry you had such a cold time last weekend
**Kevin has never delivered a baby - only one of our guys has. He really wanted to deliver both our girls, but the doctor didn't make it to Stephanie's delivery on time, so the nurse had to deliver her. The doctor assured Kevin he could deliver Katie, but there were many complications with her (the CSection team was waiting in the hallway, but we never needed them) and he couldn't deliver her either. My doctor keeps teasing me to have another baby so Kevin could finally deliver one of my children

Bunchkin - I am so sorry to hear what happened to Lauren I"m so glad her guardian angel was with her last night, and kept her from getting run over by that car. Hopefully her tooth can be fixed as easily as mine was - please keep us updated. So many hugs and PD for her!!!!

momto1 - How did your son do at his run last night? I hope you didn't freeze to much Stephanie has a soccer game tonight, and I"m know I'll freeze tonight

Another lovely rainy day here...why does it always seem to rain on my school days?!? I love walking all over campus in the rain...NOT! Anyway, my student teaching application packet is ready to be turned in. Hurray! Another step in the right direction-it was also one of the things stressing me out on my "to do" list.
slo- I don't know how dh would do in the delivery room. He cut his finger really badly once, turned white, sweated buckets, and finally threw up...hmmm....!
bunchkin- How could they not stop?!?
ID- Enjoy all the family togetherness!
momto- Hope the track meet went well. I am sure ds was warm! Last weekend, my ds was warm-running all over the place! Who has the energy for that?!?

Hi gang! Thansk for the well wishes for Jon and the cross country run. The 8th grade boys took 1st - yea! Jon did not so well - it was his worst run in 3 years. He took 22nd which is still good but not when you are usaully in the top 10. He was quite disappointed but took a good attitude and said he was putting it behind him and remembering some of his great runs.

Slo - Good luck to Stepahine at the soccer game! Keep warm! And, are you taking your doctors advice??

Paint - Good for you for getting the student teaching packet in! Soon, you will be in your own classroom!

Bunchkin - I am glad Lauren didn't get hurt worse than she was! Hopefully, the tooth can get fixed quickly and painlessly! It is awful that the driver didn't stop!

ID - Have fun at the cabin. We do cabin camping once a year with family, We are scheduled for Martin Luther King weekend this year.

Bunchkin - ouch! Hope Lauren heals quickly and isn't in too much pain.

Sad day here too. FIL suffered either a massive heart attack or anurism (sp?), we're not sure, and passed away this afternoon. It's just so sad after enduring surgery and then three rounds of chemo and radiation for cancer to have this happen so suddenly. We're all walking around dazed and confused. The kids are taking it pretty hard, they were very close. Going to be a rough road for a while I think.

i reached home on tuesday evening.
flew with double ear infections, both ears.

i was lucky to get sick at the end of my trip and not during the beginning of it.
yesterday was spent at 2 different doctors.
today was going to be a day spent in bed and trying to wait for the meds to kick in on the infection but had to do some errands.

then i got hit by a car and i didn't get much done today.
just my luck.

i had soooo much fun with geffric at the motherland.
we loved everything there.
we ate, we walked we did rides........and we yaked.

geffric, you and marita need to pencil in the same week as me for '10......

I spent all day at 2 different dentists today with Lauren.
She ended up having a root canal. And fitted with a temp crown till the permanent one comes in. The procedure itself took over 3 1/2 hours!!
Even with insurance it still cost me a ton of money. But I think I was charged incorrectly for an out of pocket item, so I need to call the insurance company tomorrow to verify. If so, that will knock off almost $300!! We'll see.
Lauren is in some pain. Not in just her mouth. She has scrapes all over her in various places and a bad bruise on her pelvis area. And she's really sad/depressed about loosing her tooth. I feel so awful for her. I tried to remind her it could have been MUCH worse.

WHAT happened?! We were playing phone tag and I thought you'd be with geffric when I met her but, NOT!

Wow!! This can't be right that I'm the first to post today, especially since I'm 2 hours behind all of you!!!!


I made a call to our insurance co. today to find out that since Lauren was in an accident her dental work falls under our medical and not dental coverage. Which is better, seeing as we already met our deductible for the year and is covers 90%!! So in the end it looks as if the dentist will owe me money!


ID Sorry to hear your sad news. Hugs and prayers for all of you. It's good to know that your kids had a close relationship with their grandpa but I'm sorry that it's so sad for them. I wish my kids have/had a closer relationship with my FIL and MIL.


mac I'm sorry to hear you got sick during your trip and then in an accident!!! Are you ok? What happened?

i usually lead a very boring uneventful life.
but october has been an exception for me this year.

got sick in orlando with 5 nights left of my trip.
came down with double ear infections.
went to the ent wednesday.

went to the grocery story yesterday at jewel.
was pushing my cart of groceries to my car when a lady backed her car out of a parking spot and hit me.
at that point, i was between her two brake lights.......
bruised and sore.
i have an appointment with my doc to be checked out.
i'm sure i will be fine.


today at the dentist.
cracked back molar and the crowned molar next to it is cracked and has decay in that portion of a tooth.
i had this appointment made in advance.


do i win a prize for having the luck of the week?


when my headache leaves, i will start making plans for the motherland 2010 trip.


i do hope your daughter is doing okay today.
she has really gone through a lot.

Hi gang! Heading to our camper tonight for the last weekend of the year. Don't worry - we have heat! On Sunday, dh will get it winterized and all closed up. It won't open again until we get back from Disney in April.

Mac - It sounds like you needed to bring back some Disney magic with you! I hope you are feeling better - ears, body and molars.

ID - Prayers and condolences are being sent you and your family on the sudden passing of your fil. Give you kiddos an extra special hug.

Bunchkin - How is Lauren today? I hope she is feeling better. Good news on the insurance company!

MAC...I am so sorry to hear about you getting sick on vacation and then your accident...yikes!...take care of yourself!

SLO...I saw the tv story of the reporter who gave birth on the highway. She who tells the news now IS the news!!!

well I am back from the vast travels..WDW and then got back late Saturday and went Eric and his friend Geoff to Indiana U, Purdue, Ohio State and Miami of Ohio..

WDW trip -

I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House.. I do love it there.. My friend M and I shared a room and we had the DDPO.

First night was Kona Cafe with MAC and some others.. it was wonderful, Sunday, We did a snack for breakfast, had big yogurt and granola cups, . and coffee. then off to AK to fast pass safari,. did dinosaur, then rode safari, Nemo, lunch at flametree, Lion King show, meet up with the ladies and chatted outside of the pizza place, then saw the parade and hopped..( did I mention that is was mid 90's.. talk about melted me, it was so hot and humid.. forgot makeup.. not that I ware any anyway.. LOL)

at MK Mac, M and I ate at Tony's.. I had fish and it was a great meal although the waitress was a bit surley.. after dinner we meet other ladies, did MK including laugn floor, buzz, and hall of presidents, we split and some went on Haunted Mason, I saw Wishes...a few more things like Philharmagic and then onto the buses..

Monday M and I had a full breakfast, it came with eggs, mickey waffle, sausage, bacon and juice and water..then off to Epcot - we did F&W, saw EnVogue.. they were very good.. met MAC for dinner at LeCellier.. wonderful meal..I had the filet.. it was so good..Illuminations, spaceship earth and back to AKL

Tuesday was a resting day.. M and I met 2 other ladies from the DIS ladies group for breakfast at Boma.. it was great..we sat and talked and enjoyed each others company plus we had real coffee..
then M and I sat by the pool and relaxed..at 3 it was time to get ready for MNSSHP. I love this party.. we got to enter mk at 4 and rode rides, had a dole whip and when it was time trick or treated and oogled the costumes.We saw Hallowishes and found a spot for the late parade.. met KImRaye and her family.. great to see her again..

Wednesday was late start , after all those late nights.. lazyed around, leisurely had breakfast and then off to Epcot, did the land, soaring and ate at F&W..then MAC, M and I went to the wine tasting from King Estates.. great show but I have not gotten over that it was free last time and this time it wasn'T any different and we paid.. I may never do this again.. we ate at Chef's.. the food was good, but the service let much to be desired.. they served the food at different times, Mac said hers was not as hot as it should be, they tried to give M 2 soups.. they were very much off..plus we did not see Remy.. Mac was telling me about her issues and how they charged her dining plan twice and what she need to do to get it fixed.. well just then Chef's charged me twice.. and they were less than Magical about it.. the desk at the hotel fixed it..

Thursday. M 's feet were hurting, so we were low keyed.. went to DTD, shopped at the kitchen store and World of Disney, ate BIG sundaes at GHiraldelli, took the boat to OKW and I showed her around, then boated it back and hopped a bus for AKL. We met a friend of mine that lives in Orlando area for dinner at Boma's.. the meal was great and then we did the night vision glasses and sat and talked and talked and talked in the library off the main lobby..

Friday was MGM - Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Great movie ride, American Idol Muppets and Toy story.. we ate at a counterservice.. it was okay..but we took the boat from MGM to Epcot and saw the players in UK, Sister Hazel and then met DIS friends in Italy for dinner at Tutto Italian.. great day ..

the whole trip was so magical and relaxing and I am so ready to do this again... so count M and I in for next year..
