SPRING BREAK THIS WEEK!!!!!
:cool1::cool1:

Ahhh.....a week of not stressing about homework, no rushing in the morning, no making lunches, and no arguing about bedtime - so happy!!!!!:yay::woohoo:

Mac - I always used to be so good about getting those pictures done the same week as her birthday, but now that she's older, she doesn't change much, so I don't need to rush :upsidedow I figure she's 8 for the whole year :thumbsup2
*Sugar is a good idea, but luckily I only had one. I'm going back to my fresh cut up strawberries with vanilla yogart mixed in - I love this!!!!!:goodvibes

TTTTiiiiiiggggggggggggggggggern - I'm glad you enjoyed the movie :) I actually have been hearing alot of very mixed reviews on facebook about this movie, which makes me very anxious to see it myself. I just need to get through the book. It's taking me a long time, because I'm just not rivoted by it. I like it, but I'm not loving it. I keep waiting for the moment that it's going to sweep me up like it has for others, but I'm on chapter 17 and it's not happening yet  I'm still keeping an open mind about it :)

Bunchkin - When I go see The Hunger Games I'm not taking Katie either:sad2: I'm not even sure if Stephanie is going to want to go, so I may go alone. She's not a reader, so naturally she hasn't read the books, so we'll see what happens:rolleyes:

Well, it's time for me to get on the eliptical and get 4 miles in before work:) I wanted to get outside, but it's to cold and windy, and I don't like walking in the cold, and ESPECIALLY the wind :sad2:

Have a great day everyone!!!!

hi ho :wave2:

SLO - I do like Greek yogurt...I get it at costco..much cheaper than the store ( jewwl/dominicks)..

Also saw the Muppet Movie.I liked it..but it was "free" on the Wonder..LOL

Eric went back to U of ILL on sunday, will be home for good at the end of final mid may;

Geoff will be home ( maybe) next Friday for a day or so..:confused3 but he turns 21 on april 1st..WOW.I am not that old to have a kid that is 21..

Hi to all.:wave2:

Hi all!
Spring break for us is next week. We are doing a staycation since we are headed "home" in August for 2 weeks. I am counting the days until we are back in the world.

We are doing a college visit next week at Grace College in Warsaw, IN. I cannot believe that I am taking ds on his first college visit. It sounds like it will be a full day. I am sure the highlight for him will be meeting with the baseball coach and then attending the game in the afternoon. Academics are secondary!

I went to downtown Chicago today for a work meeting. I saw a Guy Fieri Triple D restaurant at Canal and Roosevelt - The White Palace Grill. I think we might have to go there next week, too.

Not much else right now. Better get back to work.
Take care,
Lori

i'm on spring break this week.

i' m loving it....
gee, hope that didn't sound like the mcdonald commercial...

i have yet to be productive yet this week.

i'm just enjoying doing nothing.

that list i made up to do while off work this week must have been lost.
i'm not sweating that today..

hope all you homies have a great day!

:thumbsup2 sounds like a great vacation to me..

DS#2 went back to U of ILL on Sunday and DS#1 will come home for a few days on Friday/Saturday. He turns 21 on Sunday.. where did the time go??:confused3 I dont feel any older..

momto1 - the school hunt.. remember it well..took the boys all over the place..although i think it is fun to see the schools and here their speech..

One more hour and I don't come back to work until Saturday :cool1:

I took tomorrow off to do something with the girls, but with Katie's foot in that boot, we are just staying home. We'll have a fun day though, we are painting gnomes (Santa gave us each a plain gnome for us to paint, and then they are going in the landscaping), and then we'll probably play a couple of games. I plan on NOT getting out of my pajamas, and just being a bum all day :upsidedow

Not to much new here since my last post. I finally finished The Hunger Games, and I'm planning on seeing the movie on Monday (this Monday I start having that day off, since that's the only day my employee can work while she is going to beauty school). I've heard so many mixed reviews about the movie, so I'm very curious on how I will feel about it. Outside of that, we have lived a pretty boring life

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!!!

Just flying by to say Hi to everyone. Sandy, have a great bumming day tomorrow. Hope you and the girls have a blast.
geffric, I feel so old now!:eek:Where does the time go. My DD will be graduating 8th grade! She was 7 when I started spending time on these Disboards.:scared1:
Hope everyone on spring break has an enjoyable week off. We don't get ours until after Easter, so I am holding on for one last full week of the crazies before I can chill a bit.
Hi Mac and Bunchy and momto1!
Slo, I hope you like the Hunger Games. It was good, just not as awesome as the book. But I would see it again, so that says something.
Night friends.

Spring Break Staycations starts soon!

Hi everyone!
Slo - Hope you are having a good day today with your girls!

Tiggerrn2 - Hang in there for another week! Spring break will come soon.

DH is taking the camper back to its summer home today. It was out for the winter for some body repairs. DH couldn't seem to pull in the driveway without ripping up the whole side on a tree branch. I am just glad I didn't do it!

Not sure I will be seeing The Hunger Games. I will wait for you reviews. DS said he was going to go but wasn't able to get tickets last weekend.

I'll check in soon.
Lori

Evening all! Hope you've all had a great weekend.
Mac, I have a mom's only trip planned for the Food and Wine. When are you in the Motherland again? Maybe our paths will cross this time!
Did anyone else see the Hunger Games yet? Just wondering what your thoughts were.
Decided to do a resort only trip this summer!:lovestrucKids wanted to do Discovery Cove and swim with the dolphins so there goes ALL the Park ticket money. But after trying to find a cheaper-priced hotel to stay at while we do the Sea World stuff, I found it was no cheaper than my discounted Disney Resort hotel price would be.:rolleyes1Soooooooo.......even though we aren't park hopping this summer, I will still get to enjoy the ambiance of Disney. We will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary while we are there. Honeymooned in Hawaii. Certainly cannot afford to return there, but I can afford dinner at Ohanas!!!
Well, I have to dash and finish dinner before I go pick Kellie up from Peter Pan rehearsals. Later all.

tttiiiggggggggernnnnnnn,
i smell a meet!

i'll be at the motherland when F & W begins/friday and leave for the darkside on the 2nd.

crossing my fingers you will be there that first weekend also.

all i can say is, i'll positively clean the dump where i leave on next years' spring break. :goodvibes

i reread slo's last post.
wondering if she is still in her pj's.

wishing him a very happy birthday!!

Mac, we will be arriving the 29th! We will definately have to schedule a meet somewhere!

Hi Friends! and FOOLS! :jester:

Mom to ONE...Sounds like your husband drives like mine. :scared1: :drive:

Geffric... you haven't aged at all :surfweb:

Turned into a nice day today NW of you! DH and I went to Kane Co. Flea Market. Anyone else enjoy junking? I didn't buy anything, but husband collected some hardware and a couple of evergreens for our yard. There weren't many vendors there outside ~ and we like to be outside. Too early in the year. It was still fun though. Kind of muddy, but that's part of the charm. My favorite part is having my husband captive in the car for an hour each way. :hyper2:

Sounds like I will miss TiggerRN and Mac in Oct. Anyone going in the MIDDLE?

Booked my fall trip! Oct. 14 - 21. Didn't get a deal on ANYTHING. My aunt and her five year old granddaughter will be meeting me there this year. Soooooooooooo.... not a solo trip. Will be different, but still fun. I think people don't believe I like going alone! hahah. They think I'm just sad, pathetic, and lonely and need company AT THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! It's ok.... I figure I can wear out a five year old and stick her with her grandma in no time.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! :hippie:

Mornin....... :wave2:

I feel as if my back is broken in about a thousand pieces.
I feel as if my knees belong to a 100 year old person
I feel as if my elbow was smashed with a baseball bat.
Why do you ask??????:confused3
Because I spent all afternoon yesterday picking up mountains of leaves (my tree doesn't lose it's leaves until winter), and then picking leaves out of rocks and under bushes all around the perimeter of my yard. It's always a long, exhausting job, but is never done this early. So, as much as I hated it, I'm so glad that it's already done :woohoo:

Today I'm going to work about an hour, and then I'm picking up my neighbors/friends and we are going out to breakfast/lunch, and then going to see The Hunger Games. They have already seen it, but they wanted to go again with me. It will be a nice afternoon :goodvibes

geffric - Happy Birthday to your son :dance3: I hope he had a great day yesterday :yay:

TTTTTTTTTTTTTigern - Your vacation sounds like fun :cool1: I'm not sure what we are doing this year. We thinking about going to Florida at the end of October while the kids are on fall break.

Everyone else - :wave2:

Well, it's time to get the kids up and ready for school. Spring Break is over :sad1:

Have a great day today!!!

Good Morning!!

Kids are back to school today...that was fun trying to get them up and out the door.

Last week was rough at work. My boss found out my kids were at their dads all week so she had me stay late almost every night. I am so tired.

worked on the finishing touches on my Disney trip. I lucked out and got the tomorrowland desert party for my DS 16th birthday celebration. I am also having my DS doing the ride along at the Richard Petty racetrack. I am super excited. I hope he enjoys it as much as I think he will.

We are also going to spend one day at IOA to see Harry Potter:woohoo:

Vacation hurry up and get here!!

need to get ready for work. Hope every one has a great day!!

Turned 48 this past weekend. So, on Friday afternoon, Carol sent an email asking what we should do this weekend to make it special. I pointed out to her that she'd never been over near the quad-cities and that there's a casino there she'd probably enjoy.

So, by Friday evening, we had a reservation at Jumer's Hotel & Casino in Rock Island and off we went first thing Saturday morning. After we got there, we decided to walk around a bit first and get the lay of the casino floor. Then, we stopped at the bar in the middle of the floor to play some video poker and put some playtime on our player cards so we could get the $10 free play money. As we walked away from the bar, we passed the Caribbean Stud table, which is our favorite game. I noticed a couple open seats, but we had decided to go hit the lunch buffet first so we could just have a light dinner later that evening. After an awesome surf & turf buffet for $10 each, we headed for the Caribbean Stud table, but stopped at some Wheel of Fortune machines on the way for about 20 minutes. By the time we got to the stud table, all the seats were taken and there were two people waiting already. So, I decided to sit and kill time at a Blackjack table. About 5 minutes later, the stud table was all noisy and excited. Turns out a guy had just hit the royal flush, worth $178,000! Figures! LOL!

As it turned out, the casino had been wanting to pull that game for quite some time and had just decided to wait until the next time someone hit the progressive. So, that was the last hand of Caribbean Stud ever to be dealt in that casino. Just our luck! LOL!

Anyway, we had fun. Carol played in the high roller area for a bit and got hooked. She even broke down and tried a $25 slot machine. No luck there. :( I lost my $300 I took to play with, and Carol left with some money, so not a bad weekend. We did have the Lobster Roll that Carol always misses from Boston. And on Sunday morning, we had the breakfast buffet for $10 each. We finally headed home around 12:30-ish.

Had some fun and now Carol is trying to figure out when we can go back. LOL! I think I've created a monster.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend. Hard to believe we're already into 2012Q2. The year is flying fast!
