Hello All,

A quick fly by....

Sorry to hear trip and airline troubles. I need to book my next flight soon. I am getting worried I may not be able to or it might be very expensive.:scared1:

Weekend was great. Weather was wonderful.

Saturday the kiddies and I saw Get Smart. It was very funny. DD was bored but DS loved it. We went to the Disney Store at Fox Valley. They have a bunch of Wall.e stuff. I bought the plush Wall.e and Eve for the kids. They loved it.

Sunday went to the podcast meet. I have a really great time. I do not get out much so it was very nice to have an adult conversation. It's really nice when you can talk about Disney all the time and they not look at you like you are nuts.

Kids are looking forward to seeing Wall.e next week. We are still interested in going to the meet we just can't wait a month to see it so we will seeing it again with all of you guys. I promise I won't share the ending.:3dglasses

I need to get back to work. have a wonderful day.

Hi everyone! Quick post, as I just realized I have not posted in a while. My parents dog is still missing.

Hi guys! So sad the weekend is already over.

Saturday we went to Brookfield Zoo and it was beautiful. It was crowded but not too much so that we couldn't enjoy it. They had Sting Ray Bay open, we went at the end of the day and didn't have too many crowds. I have to laugh whenever people say Disney is so expensive, the zoo is crazy! We had eaten lunch before going but did get ice cream ($10 for 1 dippin dots and 1 cone). DD11 wanted something to drink but a 20oz. soda was $3.65 and a large water was $4.25  ! We found a drinking fountain  .

Yesterday was my family picnic, the kids had a BLAST playing with all the cousins. There was quite a bit of on again off again rain but they didn't care and we had a pavilion so the adults were dry.

piglet - so sorry they haven't found your parents' dog :worried:

slo - I used to be a lector in our church, when I started having kids DH traveled quite a bit for work so I didn't want to worry about being scheduled if he was out of town so I stopped. Maybe now that they're older I'll go back.

Hersey - we went to WDW in July a long time ago. It was HOT! What was also a bummer was that there were fires down there and so WDW didn't do any fireworks. I was so looking forward to WDW 4th of July fireworks :sad2: . This is our last year I figure to take the kids out of school so we'll be joining the holiday/summer travelers, ugh.

geffric - wow, 7 weeks! That's a long time to be at camp. I hope he enjoys it!
*Yummm, a chocolate buffet sounds like heaven.

Well, I've got to run and jump in the shower before DNephew wakes up and/or his dad gets here to pick him up. Have a great day everyone!

Hi!!

MSI was great!!!! We got there early and there was still a nice size crowd already in line for tickets. We bought tickets to the sub tour and one of the Omni Max movies, the dino one. Some free day....those tickets were $52 for the 4 of us!!! And parking was another $14. Whatcha gonna do??? ;) The only thing we wanted to do but couldn't was the coal mine. The wait was an hour and a half long!!!
No thanks!! But we did do and see a lot of things! It was a lot of fun!
Kids are free all summer, so we may go again before the summer is over! :thumbsup2

DD starts Girl Scout day camp this week!!
So I'm thinking of things to do with DS, just the two of us! :)

slo That's nice that Stephanie called you from the sleepover!! How cute!! :cutie:

Hersey Wait to do your shopping after you get to WDW!!! :thumbsup2
Did you start packing yet?

piglet Sorry to hear your parent's dog is still missing.

irish dancer We paid $3.25 per bottle of water the the Joliet Jackhammer game the other week!!! :scared1: I didn't think there could be anyone else that had higher drink prices then Disney!!! :rotfl:

momto1 Hope your son had fun at zoo camp. I always wanted DD to go to that. :teeth:

Donna The fest you went to sure does sound yummy!!!!! ::yes::

Anyone planning on going to the new American Girl movie when it comes out?
DD and I opted not to go the advance screening for $20 a ticket!!!!...it did include a child size shirt per ticket. She doesn't need another Amer. Girl shirt that bad! :rotfl:

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I drove up in the down pour Friday to my sister's bachelorette party. It ws at Bar Louie in Bolingbrook. Pretty good stuff, but there was a poor girl passed out in the bathroom in a puddle of her own...just in case you're eating, I'll stop there. The waitresses hauled her into a chair and gave her a bucket. This was 8 o'clock! A little early for that! Anyway, apparently her friends had left her, thinking she could get herself home. They must have been as drunk as she was then! One of the waitresses was going to drive her home, if she could figure out where this girl lived. She actually looked like she needed a trip to the hospital! Hope she was okay!
Other than that craziness, it was a pretty low-key weekend. We did some shopping and browsing, checking out the used bookstore, had some dinner at Olive GArden, and met a friend for a drink at a local place for "Bad Music Night". They weren't kidding- Whitesnake, Abba, etc!
geffric- Pretty sure I'd make myself sick at a chocolate buffet! I wouldn't learn my lesson, either!
donna w- Ds is a Sox fan but only because his uncle is molding him into one! Ds only goes for the food, but uncle is hoping he learns to love the team, too!
sk8t- Hope the blinds go well. Saw "Bali" and thought of bras!
id- Zoo prices are crazy, aren't they? Brookfield is nice, though.
slo- does your dd come back grouchy from sleepovers? DD needs her beauty rest! Last time she had a sleepover, she ending up napping just before dinner! When I woke her later, she was so confused- asked for a waffle because she thought it was morning!

ID ~ We are members at the zoo, but even with that 10% off, things are still so pricy there. We do get the refillable cups though, and since we go so many times over the year, they save us a lot. I love that they have self-serve soda stations now too.

sk8t- Hope the blinds go well. Saw "Bali" and thought of bras!

I know, that's what I think of, too! :rotfl2: I'm assuming they're different companies. ;)

I'm so glad I could get the measuring done on Saturday. I'm not sure if they'll do the install on weekends, but at least I won't have to take two days off for this. And they're going to call me from 7-9am on Sat. to tell me when they're coming, so I think I'll go over to Panera and get breakfast.

Tomorrow my department here at work is going to have a meeting and give presentations to each other about what we all do. We had to make a Powerpoint presentation, which I've never done. I used Disney clip art in mine. :thumbsup2 Then after work we're going bowling, and we'll have dinner there. (They're providing lunch, too.) So I'm pretty excited about tomorrow! :cool1:

Hi everyone! Quick post, as I just realized I have not posted in a while. My parents dog is still missing.

i have had the doggie in my prayers.
i was so hoping he would be returned by now.

i know your parents must be heartbroken over the dog.

Evening all. Finally all unpacked and laundry almost done. Had to hit the grocery store to refill the empty fridge. Thinking about taking the dog out for a quick walk before hitting the hay.
Had a good time. Trip was way too quick. DH very tired today. He went to work this morning after arriving home at 2AM. I am ever so glad I traded out today for Wednesday. I would never have made it. LOL
I'll be back and give some details later. But it was HOT!!! At one point in the drive from San Jose to Anaheim we saw 110 degrees!!
The wedding was very nice. (and short, thank goodness) It was out on the balcony of the Grand Californian and the poor bride and groom and bridal party were standing in the sun.:faint:

:surfweb:

I did my lecter training last night, and I'm a little nervous now. There's alot to remember at first, and I hope I do it right. I have a workbook, and a special book to help me pronounce hard words (which is good, because I always wondered how the lecters knew how to say things). I"m sure I'll do fine, but I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, so I'll have to let you know when my first day is, so you can all wish me a little luck - I'll need it!!!! :)

Mac - I hope your doctors appointment went well.:wizard:

DG - What movie did you watch this past weekend? Anything good?

momto1 - How cute your DS's school mate introduced herself to you:) The Zoo camp sounds like a lot of fun for you son. Does he get to help out with the animals?

Disneynut - I want to see Get Smart so bad - I used to love the tv show:)
**I'm glad you had fun at your DIS Meet

piglet - I"m sorry to hear that your parents dog is still missing:( Please keep us posted!!!

ID - I'm glad you had a nice time at your family picnic:goodvibes The weather was very weird on Sunday, and I'm glad it didn't put a damper on the day.
**Stephanie is going to Brookfield Zoo today with her daycare. I hope it's not to busy for her. It is crazy how expensive things can be at places like the zoo, I wish they wouldn't do that.

Bunchkin - I'm glad you had a nice time at The MSI:) I'm sorry you missed the coal mine. I haven't done that since I was a kid, and I would like to see it again. I remember my Grandpa taking me, and I thought it was SO BORING!!!!! I need to go and have an adult perspective on it ::yes::
**We'll eventually go see The AG movie - when does it come out?

paint - OMgosh about that girl - how terrible!!!! I've had my moments when I was younger, but nothing like that :sad2: I think if I was that waitress, I would have called an ambulance, before taking her home, she could have had alcohol poisoning:eek: Was your sisters party fun?
**Stephanie comes home fine from a sleepover - she's never needed much sleep to function.

Leigh - Have a nice day at work today :cool1: Good luck with your powerpoint presentation:wizard:

Tigggggernnnn - Welcome home!!!! :yay: Your trip did go by fast - you'll have to give us a TR :teeth:

Well, I gotta run and do a quick workout this morning.
Stephanie has to be at daycare early today, because they are going to the zoo.

Have a good day today everyone!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

DD is off to Girl Scout day camp early this morning. Hope there is no rain today, all though it looks like they are calling for at least a 50% chance it will rain all week. Bummer!!! Rain does not make happy campers. :(

DS and I are taking a lunch to the park and then going to go see Kung Foo Panda again, his choice. Funny movie!! ::yes::

paint I sure do hope that girl at the bar was ok. What crappy friends to have left her there...those are NOT "friends" in my book!
My DD needs her sleep too. At her last sleepover here a few weeks ago, she went off to bed and left her 2 friends downstairs to watch tv by themselves!! :rotfl: I went and sat with them for a while and then they all went to bed, at which they just all talked for the next 45 minutes or so...all of them including DD.

Leigh What fun work should be for you! I love bowling, even though I'm not the greatest at it!! ;)

Tiggerrn Welcome back!! Those hot temps must have melted the wedding party!!!! :faint: Did you stay at the HoJo? Wondering if the ants visted you too??!! :rotfl:

piglet I didn't know that the zoo did refillable cups. Thanks for pointing that out! ::yes::

slo Hope Steph has fun at the zoo today! Did the kids need to bring a lunch with them or are they buying one?
The Kit movie comes out on July 2nd.

Well, I gotta run!
DS wants to play Lego Star Wars on the Nintendo together! :darth: :yoda: :chewy: :ewok:

good tuesday morning chicagoland homies.

it is dominoes pizza special day.

2 for 1 :woohoo:

**Stephanie is going to Brookfield Zoo today with her daycare. I hope it's not to busy for her. It is crazy how expensive things can be at places like the zoo, I wish they wouldn't do that.

My friend's husband is a zookeeper there, working with the elephants. I haven't been to Brookfield in a long time, but if I wanted to go sometime and he was working, I could get in to see the elephants, and maybe feed them. :thumbsup2

Leigh What fun work should be for you! I love bowling, even though I'm not the greatest at it!! ;)

I love bowling, too, but I'm terrible at it. I'm not sure if I've ever broken 100. I think maybe a couple of times. :rotfl2:

Last night when I was leaving work I fell again! I have to stop doing that! :sad2: I think my big rubber toed Crocs caught on the floor. I knew I was going to fall, but I couldn't stop myself. But at least it was a good fall. I kind of slid, like I was sliding into home. :lmao: I scraped my elbow, it's like a floor burn. And my knee is bruised. Other than that I'm fine. I'm lucky I haven't really hurt myself! Some guy helped me up and asked me if I had hit my head. No, at least I didn't come close to that.

Hi gang! DS had a good time at zoo camp yesterday. He said they get to do "behind the scenes" type stuff. From what I can figure, their classroom is somewhere near the savannah where they look out their window and can see the giraffes. How cool is that?!

Bunchkin - Sounds like a great day at MSI1 Fee days are never free are they? We are going to the Jackhammers tonight with ds baseball league. Thanks for the heads up on the price of water! UGH!

Piglet- Prayers for the dogs and for your parents. How sad.

Paint - What an experience at Bar Louie. I have only been to the one in Oak Park and it was for lunch. Food was yummy, though.

SK8t - Sounds like you will have a great day at work. Have fun!

Better get back to work. Have a great daY!
Lori

sk8t- My Crocs make me spontaneously trip, too. Really embaressing when you're walking through Target and trip over nothing!
slo and bunchkin-We wondered if they were hesitant to call an ambulance because she had obviously been over served!
slo- The party was very tame. My sister gets embaressed easily, so the most exciting thing she got was a pair of cute undies from VS. My party, on the other hand...I got lots of interesting gifts, including a crown that had flashing "things" on it!
momto- Kinda' crazy seeing a girl like that there. It is such a nice place! Did you happen to have the carrot cake when you were there? Yum!
tig- Glad you had a great trip! I hope to get to DL someday!

We took ds to a Beninihana type place today. He loved it and laughed at all of the chef's corny jokes! Then, when dd got home from day camp, she and I had a girls night. We tried to paint pottery becasue the place was supposed to be open until 9, but they closed at 6. They had a sigh saying they would be closing at 6 on Tuesdays for their "winter hours". Umm, last I checked it was summer, right? We ended up doing some shopping and eating at one of her fave places- Subway!
I just finished going over the manual for my new job. Tomorrow I shadow a hostess for my entire shift. Then I shadow a busser, then a food runner, then shadow a server for 2 shifts, then a server shadows me for two shifts! Lots of training, but they have great servers there and now I know why! I just want to start earning some tips!!!

Good Morning everyone! :flower3: had a busy day at work yesterday so i, unfortunately, could not dis. i've been doing a lot of research for the wedding. mike and i had been planning on the wedding pavilion since we got engaged and it is absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately it is the most expensive location (or so it appears). Anyway, I started looking into other locations that are more affordable BUT they charge you to set up the chairs and the alter and everything else. PLUS at the WP you get an organist included, everywhere we would need to hire a musician, which can add up. So we decided to just stay with the WP :goodvibes i'm excited.

Slo ~ we watch Harry Potter! I love Harry Potter! Speaking of does anybody know when they are opening the Harry Potter theme park in Orlando? Hopefully it will be ready by the time the wedding rolls around:confused3

Sk8leigh ~ I'm sorry to hear you fell again. if it makes you feel any better, I trip ALOT and have a tendancy to run into doorframes! I'm surprised I have broken a bone yet... knock on wood.

Bunchkin ~ My sister was thinking of taking my nephew to see Kung Foo Panda... maybe i'll volunteer to go with :)

everyone else ~ :wave2:

Happy Wednesday!!

I'm so glad the rain stopped here and the sun is coming out. Not a fun way to start Girl Scout camp. :(

Yesterday DS and I had so much fun together. It was a real treat to just spend time just the two of us together.
Kung Fu Panda is still funny the 2nd time around! ::yes::

And I agree with Leigh and Paint, Crocs always trip us up too!! All of us! Good to know it's not just our family!!! :lmao:

paint That's a lot of training!! Are they a chain restaurant or a locally/family owned joint?

Leigh Sorry you fell!!! I hate falling in public!!!!!! :headache: At least someone nice was there to help you. That rarely happens anymore.

irish dancer How was the game? I didn't see yet what the score was. My neighbor was there too, the one that is housing a player for the summer.
Did you smuggle in some of your own drinks? We did that last time. :ssst: ;)

disneygal Universal states that Harry Potter Wizarding World should be open by winter/late 2009. We'll see if they keep that on schedule. We plan on going there too once it's open!! :yay:
Wedding Pavillion would be wonderful!!!! But I think any location, as long as it's in WDW, would be wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! ::yes::

Ho hum...I need to leave for work in a few minutes. i am not excited about it. I have gotten used to not working. What makes it worse is the fact that I know dh will be home all day. What can I say? We're newlyweds. We still like each other!

I forgot to mention....

We ate at a new place in the area, we'll it's new to the area but they've been around for a while. Mainly in the southeast.
Cici's Pizza. Has anyone eaten there before??
