tiggerrn- AUg 3-12. I tried to add another ticker, but it won't show up all the way!
irish- does he dislike veggies? df really only puts in potatos and broccoli. the green beans are for stabiltiy. it is mostly noodles and meat. also, he was over joyed when he realized he could add for than one stick for flat bread. i told him i drew the line at 3. any more was embarrassing!

dd and i are having our "date night"! she wants to dress up fancy and go out to eat! poor thing doesn't realize she has to sit through a meeting withm our tax lady first!

Paint You have a strange idea of a "date night" Taxes don't meet my definintion.

Another quick flyby.

Did anyone else hear that winter for us may not be over. While it's not exactly my idea of mild temps I kind of like seeing brown grass. :rotfl:

Hope everyone is doing well someday I will be caught up and stay to chat.

Ty you for all your help with my question. It helped.

The reason I picked 6 days is I like taking my time and not having to rush. I do plan to do a little sight seeing since I have never been to Calafornia before. I will also do a overnight in Las Vegas. My Uncle lives there and would never forgive me if I didn't.

I feel like I'm in a whole different world in regards to planning. I know so much on planning for a WDW trip...where to eat, what to do. The kids are so excited, my daughter who has been dying to ride Space Mountain will finally be able to this trip. She hit 43" finally and is ready to ride.

Have a great day everyone.

Last night we took the girls to see the Easter Bunny, and he wasn't busy at all - no wait!!!! Which was good, because we wanted to see the bunny and go:thumbsup2

Then we went to Circuit City and bought a new tv for our bedroom. The one we had in there was 20 years old (from my bedroom at home - I was 16 when I got it), and the tube was going. The picture was mostly red, and it really was terrible. Lately it started turning off whenever it wanted - it was acting up like a fiesty elderly person. I was very sad to let it go - yes I was attached to it - but it was time for it to go. The tv we got is very very nice, and it was nice to see the picture in full color. The girls are very excited, because they watch Disney Channel in our room on Friday and Saturday nights, and they were tired of seeing Hannah Montana in red:laughing:

Bunchkin - Thanks for the advice for incorporating the black dress with some spring color. I think I will do this, instead of spending money on a new dress that I don't like :thumbsup2

DG - packages of Disney are always so much fun!!!! :goodvibes
*Thanks for the advice on the dress!!!!

Zero - Wearing no panties never bothered my DD (luckily). I was a backstage mom a couple of times, and if you need any advice on good things to keep the girls entertained, please ask, because I, and others, could help :)

Leigh - :wave2:

momto1 - Driving to Florida in one day is a bummer, but it can be done :car:. We drove all the way to Tampa in 1 day - it took us about 18 hours (this was pretty much non-stop. The only thing we stopped for is to go potty - outside of that we ate and did everything else in the car). I hope your DH can get out of the meeting so you can still leave on Thursday :wizard:

piglet - Good luck to Kevin with writing his essays :wizard: You'll have to let us know if he gets his letters of reccommendations.

paint - Congrats on getting your honeymoon booked:goodvibes That is so cool about the honeymoon registery - I like that idea!!! :)
**What did you and your DD do last night?

Tigggggernnn - Good luck getting everything done today. The EB here, still needs to get Easter candy for the Easter Baskets - hopefully I can do that today (fingers crossed)

Kim - Is Kelly playing soccer this year?

ID - That's so nice that you mom do the hot lunch at your DD's school:goodvibes . At the Catholic school here, they use the same hot lunchs as the public schools. Stephanie went to this school when she was in kindergarten, and now she goes to public school.

HERSEY - Yes I did hear that:guilty: We are suppossed to get 1-4 inches of snow on Good Friday  This winter just won't stop - it's really starting to bring so many people down.

Well, I gotta go jump into the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Disneynut - Hi there!!! :wave2:
We posted at the same time!!!

I feel like I'm in a whole different world in regards to planning. I know so much on planning for a WDW trip...where to eat, what to do. The kids are so excited, my daughter who has been dying to ride Space Mountain will finally be able to this trip. She hit 43" finally and is ready to ride.

The Space Mountain at DL is waaaay better than the one at WDW. It will ruin you for that one. Seriously, I don't even right it at WDW anymore, it's not worth the wait. But at DL I have to ride it more than once. :thumbsup2

At 1am last night, I woke up to a loud beeping noise. I was really still asleep, not thinking well at all. I know I need to change the batteries in my smoke alarms, so I was kind of fixated on that, and for some reason when I got downstairs I glance at my alarm system and didn't think it was that, and decided that it was the smoke alarm and went upstair to get my step stool to try to reach it. (I have no idea how to change the battery. My parents are going to help me do it the next time they come over. And for the one on the first floor, it's 10 feet up, and we're going to have to bring in the ladder. :sad2: )

But then ADT called, and I looked at the system again, and it was what was beeping. It's happened before, the system loses contact with them or something annoying like that. So I turned off the beeping, and this time it was easier to reconnect than the last time. But I was just so out of it!

I am not looking forward to snow on Friday. My sister is hosting a Tastefully Simple party for me, and I hope snow does not effect her friends coming to it. She is looking at around 15 people right now, which will be my largest party ever. (I've been doing this off/on since 2003)

Have a good day everyone. :)

Good Morning! :flower3:

Paint ~ Congrats on booking your honeymoon! :yay: I told my BF when we get married I want to honeymoon at Disney, he kind of rolled his eyes and said 'we'll see'... Fortunately though, we are going in less than a month for our first vacation together :goodvibes

Tiggerrn ~ Glad to hear bowling went well! Sounds like you did well! I don't bowl often and when I do, I'm lucky if I break 100 :rotfl:

Irish Dancer ~ Have fun at hot lunch! I went to Catholic school way back when; LOVED hot lunch day, best day of the month!

Hersey ~ What?!?!?! MORE SNOW??? major bummer but thanks for the heads up!

Disneynut ~ Have fun in Cali! I've never been either!

Slo ~ I too get quite attached to things that I've had a long while (such as my VCR) even though I very rarely use it, I don't have the heart to get rid of it!

Sk8Leigh ~ I had something similar happen. My alarm went off at 3am b/c of something with the phone lines. I was so sleepy I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. The alarm company wound up calling my dad's cell phone to make sure everything was ok; he wound up fixing it for me.

Piglet ~ Hope the snow doesn't get in the way of your party. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed for you! :wizard:

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning all,

paintnolish - this is our first recital. DD is almost 4 and we've been doing ballet since last summer. The costumes are pretty pricey, but since we're doing dance through the park district as least the class prices are reasonable. And how exciting about your honeymoon! You'll have fun no matter where you're staying, and don't worry about your finance. My DH said he didn't want to ever go back to WDW after our last trip in 2003. Well, we're off to the World in May and he is really excited about it. It was his idea to go - what a shocker!

tiggerrn2 - good to hear that the girls don't seem to mind the lack of a cotton panel. I agree, it would just feel *wrong* to me. Is there any such thing as a cheap sport/activity anymore?

Disneynut - hey, I have an uncle who lives in Vegas, too. I've never been to visit him but am kicking around the idea of visiting this August. It's his 50th wedding anniversary.

slo - I'd welcome *any* ideas to keep the girls entertained backstage. I'm a newbie after all, though I was a HS teacher (about a hundred years ago!). Teens are definitely different than 3yo's.

piglet too - I'll keep a snow-free thought for you and your TS party. I really like their products.

We're off to see the Easter Bunny today before lunch. DD and I went to the mall last weekend with DH to help him pick out a new pair of glasses. Well, DD saw the Easter Bunny and really wanted to visit him. I said we could come back later in the week and dress pretty to see him, figuring she'd forget. Ha ha silly me, she doesn't forget anything that might be fun to do! So we're off. I also enjoy seeing the grass even if it's brown. I can't take any more snow - really I can't. I've been so grouchy lately because the nice weather is gone, I think snow would really put me over the edge! Hope everyone has a good day today. :goodvibes

Hi gang!

Paint - Cool that your son is applying for the volunteer program. Good luck to him! I didn't even know they had that program. Maybe he will run into my son Jon (11) in Zoo Lab. And congrats on booking your honeymoon!

Gals - I wish I had something to add on the ballet chatter. But...that is something I have never experienced and probably never will! Good luck to you all!

Today is my long, late day at work for the month. So...8 more hours until I am on vacation! DH still doesn't know if he can leave tomorrow. ARGH! I am just pretending we are!

Lori

Lori ~ It is my son that is going for the program. We happened across it last year, and he has been waiting until he could do it too. Have you taken a look at it, your son will be able to do it in a few years. What I think is real cool, is that this will give Kevin a great chance to dip his feet into his intended career. He wants to be a marine biologist, so this will be a great opportunity for him to immerse himself into the culture. Next year he can go into the science track, and then into the career track. He could also be eligible for a scholarship, and it is never too soon to think about that.

Good afternoon everyone!!

I spent part of the morning at DD's math class today. Parents could come in and play math games with the kids. DD has several friends in that class so we had a lot of kids in our group.
And I actually beat them 3 times!!!

I was able to get a lot of shopping done for the Easter Baskets yesterday!
But I still need to run to the mall for Disney Dollars.
And I did drop off DH at Bass Pro Shop first like I said I would.
We went shopping at the Promenade in Bolingbrook. If you haven't been there before it is an outdoor mall. So I parked elsewhere after dropping DH off and I went shopping. So later DH meets up with me at Barnes and Noble. On his way walking over he had a cigarette and was stopped be the 'mall police' and told he can't smoke while walking on the sidewalks! I don't smoke, so I don't promote it at all, but I've never heard of such a thing before. Not only can you not smoke inside anywhere any more, but now you can't smoke outside either!!?? The cop said "Next thing you know they will ban breathing too.".
Has anyone ever heard of that before? No smoking on the sidewalk?? :confused3

slo That's nice you got to see the E.B without any wait!
My kids don't seem to be that interested in him anymore, as in going to go see him at the mall.
I hope you have luck finding something to go with your dress! ::yes::

piglet I hope your son is able to complete his essays on time and get his recommendations too! :thumbsup2 Sounds like fun!!

Disneynut Passporter has a real good book about Disneyland that is full of info what to do and where to eat. And it has a lot of info on the surrounding area too.
We went to Las Vegas (in-laws live there) and Disneyland last year at spring break. So if you have any questions just let me know. :thumbsup2

Kim That would be great to meet up at the game.
5 games.....so far?? WOW!! This will be our first ever!

irish dancer How did hot lunch go?

ZeroMyHero Sometimes the smallest minds are like steal traps!!

momto1 I hope your trip isn't delayed!!
We've driven down to WDW in one day! Not by choice, but because of DH's work too. We ended up finally getting on the road at 6:30pm, instead of leaving at around 7am. :sad2: Made a few stops along the way and a short break to snooze. We made it to WDW by 7pm-ish the next day. Thankfully we didn't have to do that on our way home! :thumbsup2

paint Congrats on booking you honeymoon!!! :cool1: I'm guessing that you got to use the discount offer you got?

Hersey What are your so busy doing?? :)

Gotta run! :hippie:

irish- We do it thru the park district, too. We love it! DD has really learned a lot. Good luck with the recital. When they are so small, no matter what they do, it is cute! Does she just do ballet? DD does that and tap. She used to do hip-hop, but it was getting to be too much time!
disneygal- I made sure to tell everyone that if they knew df was going to propose and we has a wdw trip planned, to do it then! Didn't happen that way, as we haven't got there yet! can't wait to go, tho! Going to buy df Mickey ears, a balloon, and Mickey icecr!
piglet and momto- My ds would love that program, but it is 2 hours from us! he is a little scientist- he always checks out non fiction. I despise reading them as bedtime stories. Nothing relaxes you like tales of great whites!
Bunchkin- I always want to get to the Promenade, but it is always closed by the time we leave Ikea!
Slo and Hersey- Got the taxes done- good refund! Then we went to a hibachi place, kind of like Bennihana's. Kids eat free!

Better get some studying done.

Kim That would be great to meet up at the game.
5 games.....so far?? WOW!! This will be our first ever!
I'm hoping to get one more game, on 5/17, those are sold out. :sad1: Before the game, we'll exchange seat locations, and meet up then! :cool1: This won't be my first mini-DIS meet at Wrigley tho. ;)

Today is an early day for me.
Katie and I are going to my friends office (my insurance agent in the same plaza as me) and working her office until I open at 10am. Her sister is having a baby today, and she needed me to answer her phone and take payments. Then at 10am, her answering machine will pickup the calls, but I'll put a note on the door for any clients to come to my store to make a payment. I then have to work until 7pm - it'll be a long day. But I don't mind, because she would do it for me in a heartbeat:goodvibes

Yesterday I went and got my haircut - and it felt so good!!!
This is the first time I"ve gotten my haircut since July, and it really needed it.
I went to a new stylist, and I really liked him.
He cut and cut and cut, and in the end, it doesn't look like he cut off much, but he said I have a lot of hair, and I could see how much was on the floor. Geez, I really need to go more often!!!!!!

Leigh - That's weird about the beeping alarm. They should come out and take a look at that. I hope you were able to fall back asleep after that happened.

piglet - Wow, that is a big party!!!! Good luck with it, and I hope the snow doesn't affect it :wizard:

DG - I bet your DF will agree to a honeymoon at WDW after your trip - I"m sure he'll love it there :teeth:

Zero - How was the Easter Bunny? Hopefully he wasn't as fake looking as ours (ours is yellow and I don't like it - he's kinda creepy!!).
*My first advice for the recital is to bring non-staining snacks such as Goldfish, animal crackers, and anything like that. Then for drink, I used to bring botted water, and tiny little Dixie cups, so they couldn't drink that much at once (you don't want to be taking them to the bathroom all the time). I'll post some more as I think of it.

momto1 - Are you leaving today? If so, have a wonderful and safe trip!!!! :cool1:

Bunchkin - I'm sorry Tony couldn't have a cigarette on the sidewalk:guilty: I have heard of this in some places, and I think it's ridiculous. I don't promote smoking either, but I don't think smoking is bad on the sidewalk. I think smokers are really getting beat down, and I don't think it's right. I guess people, when smoking, don't bother me, so I don't get uptight about it.

paint - Congrats on getting your taxes done :cheer2: I'm still waiting on our personal ones to get done - we are hoping for a decent return this year too:wizard:

Kim - Wow, Kelly sounds busy - that's great!!!! :) Stephanie would love to learn to ice skate, but we dont' have anywhere close to us that she could go. Good luck to Kelly with her show in April :wizard:

Well, I gotta go jump in the shower
Have a good day today!!!

Morning everyone!

Sorry I missed you all yesterday, it was a busy day and I didn't get to check the boards.

Hot lunch went well, I was a server so I got to see all the kids. I think this one was the biggest hit with the kids, McDs Chicken Selects, chips, grapes and soft serve ice cream. The kids definitely look forward this each month.

Today I was supposed to have my nephew but my DSis got mixed up and took him to her MILs :confused3 . Oh well, now I'll just have my girls today since they're off for break already. DH wasn't too happy to have to get DS off to school and go into the office but it was easier knowing we're leaving for HHI tomorrow.

slo - glad you like your new haircut. I just got mine done too and they raised their prices again, ugh! I really like my stylist but it's now up to $45, more than I'd like to spend.

momto1 - I hope you're leaving today, not that I want to get rid of you I just know how sad I'd be to have to delay leaving for vaca.

Zero - I agree with slo to bring some "clean" snacks and water for the recital. You can also bring a couple of books to read to them and some crayons and paper. How long will you have to keep them busy? I'll try to think of more ideas.

Well, off to start my day. All that is left to be ready for vaca is the last minute packing, hoping to finish that today so tomorrow won't be too crazy :rolleyes1 .

Have a great day everyone!

slo and irish- My littlest sis (I have 3!) is in beauty school. I'll never pay for another hair cut! She did snip df's ear, tho. What do you want? It's free!:rotfl2:
ID- I went to Catholic grade school. We had brown bag lunches every day, but once a month we had hotdog day! Hotdog, Vitner's chips, and pop (Canfield's, I think!). What a treat!

Blah. I should be studying, but I am not feeling up to it. I have a raging sore throat! Dising makes me feel better, though. I wish Donald's Shrink was aound. I need some help on my Ed Psych study guide!

Good Morning everyone! :flower3: It's thursday which means one more day til the weekend  I'm ready for this week to be over! Nothing much exciting here right now... I have started my final project for the semester, I'm excited about that! For the summer semester I'm only taking 2 classes (a studio and a lecture). Working full time, taking 2 studio classes (which require 4 hours in class and about 5 hours out of class each) and a lecture is very stressful and I want to enjoy my summer! It will take me longer to finish but oh well, 6 semesters instead of 4...still not bad!

Bunchkin ~ No smoking on the sidewalks is a crazy rule. Now I'm not a smoker and do not advise it but seriously, where are smokers supposed to smoke if they can't even do it on the sidewalk anymore? Next thing you know they will be making tobacco illegal, which is just crazy!

Paint ~ Glad you got your taxes done! I already got my refund via direct deposit (under 10 days!) I couldn't believe it! I had a nice refund so I'm putting it all toward my trip! I have a very strong feeling the proposal is coming soon... but I don't know if he'll be able to find a way to do it in Disney, I've been planning the trip, making the ADRs, etc. we will see!

Slo ~ Glad you like your haircut! Last time I went to get mine done she barely took anything off... It looked exactly the same with neater ends. I didn't want a lot off but a little difference would have been nice! Have a good day! Hope it goes by quick for you!

Irish Dancer ~ Have a great safe trip!
