when i was on the carnival before there was an early morning immigration check on the last day for non US residents- does this occur on DCL

any info or tips appreciated

(passports, birth certificates, what did you use?)

Hi, as a canadian just recently home from my third cruise, Just wanted to tell you that there is a different check-in line, but no different line to board the ship.

Sometimes it is a good thing, because the check-in line, which is for non-us citizens is shorter than the rest.

As for the last day, yes this applies, you will receive a paper in your cabin with all the information, of who goes to where to pass immigration in the early am of the disembarking day. At this time you will get back all your documents. (passports, etc) They make this really as painless as possible.

Hope this helps,

Our whole family used passports...

Another Canadian here! We travelled with our Canadian passports, which were held by DCL for the duration of the cruise. There is a Non-US Citizen check-in line, but it was actually a lot shorter than the regular check-in line. After checking all your documentation, you get a receipt instead of your passport.

Be sure to bring another piece of photo ID with you for getting on/off the ship at ports.

The immigration call for us was 6:00 am on the morning we returned to Port Canaveral in Rockin' Bar D. Everyone in our party was required to attend, but Disney had coffee available at the entrance for us. The process went very quickly, and we were back at our room by 6:20 am.

If you have any other questions, please ask!

Arlene

I am also the only non-US citizen in our family, and you can all check in together in the non-citizen line, which was very short when we got there, actually there was no one in that line, and a couple of hundred people in the regular line, we all travel with passports and our check in was a breeze, on the last day, you will need to clear immigration at 6:00 a.m. and they will give you your passport back, they hold on to it for the duration of the cruise.

THANK you for the quick replies

so you stated christine that even though the rest of my party are US citizens they can check in with me in the non citizen line- but i would be the only one attending the non US citizen embarktation process, is this correct?

thanks so much:smooth:

Yes,

All your family can check at the non-us line. The day on disembarkation only non us citizen must go to the custom.

So all your family will sleep and you have to get up alone early.... :0))))

The embarkation process is the same for everyone, once you are checked in (which you can all do together) you get your card that allows you aboard the ship and then opens your door. the check in process is very simple not any more difficult than for US citizen, the only difference is that they keep your passport.
