Calling all Anti-Princesses!

I do like to cook. But lately I just don't feel like doing it. I love to fish too! I just won't eat it.

so who says you have to be one or the other?

I'm somewhere in the middle. I like dressing up, I like makeup and nail polish, I like getting my hair done.

I hate shoe shopping, but that's only because I'm hard to fit. I'm not a recreational shopper, but I like nice things.

but I don't mind running around in jeans and a t-shirt on a saturday. I like sports. I don't freak if I get dirty.

DH's red sweatpants! They are so comfy...:smooth: The only accessory I need is a hair thingie to pull my long hair back with...well that and my glasses. But I don't think they count as an accessory as I can't see to well without them.

Even my glasses are 'un girly'...brownish plastic square shaped frames. They're actually kind of nerdy looking, but I don't care. I had wire framed ones before and I got ticked off because I would get them so bent out of shape. I didn't have time to be running to the eyeglass place in the mall to get them straightened and so half the time I wore them bent. At least these I can't bend out of shape.

I wear contacts, but only because my glasses got in the way during sports....I must have broken several pairs playing basketball and softball...too expensive(my parents got mad...haha)

My hair is too short right now to pull back, since I grew my bangs out(they were too much of a hastle) and so now I'm waiting for my hair to grow(though it isn't!) I usually have the top pulled back for track and other sports, and it just hangs the rest of the time....hair is quite time consuming...grrr

ITA! ::yes:: Hair IS time consuming, which is why I tend to keep mine shoulder-length or shorter.

I had contacts once, but they were too time consuming for me..putting them in, cleaning them, rewetting my eyes every few hours...what a hassle! I decided glasses were far simpler to deal with..just stick them on and go. :)

Plus..glasses make me look smarter.

glasses just make me look like a dork(wait, no that's all the time) :p

Contacts are an in early, out late thing...all day and I never have a problem..much less time consuming for me than glasses...

Another reason I didn't stay with contacts is because I kept losing the darn things and my mom got mad about having to pay for more.

Glasses are far less easy to lose. :)

indeed they are...I had a wicked problem with contacts at first, but now I'm getting the hang of them!

Yeah that was the hardest part...learning to poke myself in the eye. But now I can do it any time I want and it doesn't bother me...see? *pokepokepoke*

how hilarious is this? Last night, after posting how I haven't lost a contact in so long, guess what I did?!

I dropped my contact and couldn't find it!!!!! I laughed really hard, and my mom was worried about me because I fell down from laughing so hard, and she thought I hurt myself!! hehe

you're forgetting I'm a track/cross country star!!!

Well I am DEFINETELY qualified to join this thread, yes I am an anti-princess. I usually only like to wear reeboks, no jewelry, no makeup. I cant be bothered. Only time I put on the dress is when I have to and on sun. morning. I told dh the guy who invented panty hose should have been thrown in jail. When they were little I could have played gi joe etc. with the 3 ds all day long. When I was little my mom asked me what was on my christmas wish list. I think I had like a zorro sword, james bond spy set etc. I didnt want to play with the little kiddle house with my sis. Once at an arts and crafts class I was assisting at we had to make something that was braided. All the kids laughed at me because I didnt know how to braid, I told them, lets ask this nice girl over here.:D Well one day maybe we will be blessed with a grand daughter, then she can be the princess.

I am THE Anti-princess! I wear jeans, sweats, sneakers and tshirts or sweatshirts all the time. I do wear dresses to work (I am a church secretary) but have been known to wear my sneakers with them! I rarely put makeup on, although I do wear my contacts now (just got them last year) and most of the time my hair is in a ponytail...my only jewelry is my cross necklace and my wedding and engagement rings (never takin' them off!).
My DD however, is the total opposite. princess: Kari is exactly what I call her!

I'm NOT a girly girl.
I prefer jeans and a t-shirt in the winter and shorts and a t-shirt in the summer and I am barefoot all the time unless we have to go out. ::yes:: ::yes::

Does choking back an upchuck at the sight of the little girls in those Cinderella dresses in the MK get me a membership card????

I am the TOTAL ANTI PRINCESS!! Ugh!

I am SOOOOOO glad I have a little boy. I have NEVER felt the need to play tea, dress up or do anyone's hair or nails.... ::shudder:: I have two GIRLY GIRL sisters :earseek: who's only conversation is shoes and hair. I could just THROW UP when I'm around them. I was known as my family's only son.... :p

The problem is I look Girly Girl. So many times I get stuck in girly conversations with people who get me confused. I do like to look nice but I don't like to work on it! I just thank God for good genes!

I am so glad I had parents who accepted all of us the way we are. My Mom once told me that she talks with her other daughters about hair and clothes because that's what they are. She had to wait to talk to me about world affairs and politics because that's who I was. What she forgot is I didn't HAVE A "ME" to talk to amongst my sisters! And now that she's gone I miss in depth conversations... :(

oh, well, I could call my sisters and ask what color lipstick is in this week...
