I've read some recent discussion about Aldi's lately and I'm wondering what are the DO's and DON'TS of buying there? I usually go in for milk and bread and not much more. I'm too scared to try anything else thinking it will be icky. So, what DO you buy and what DON'T you buy?

I wil buy milk, all staples, sugar, flour, baking needs, nuts, some spice's, brand name candy. M&M's, milkyway, Hershey kisses, etc. Fresh veggie's, banana's. fruit, potatoe's, etc. I am funny about what I buy there!

We get ALL of our staples at Aldi -- corn chips, potato chips, ketchup, mustard, oatmeal, cereal, sour cream, yogurt, cream cheese, apples, bananas, oranges, chocolate syrup, etc. The only thing we've bought and didn't like was a mexican dip/bowl. It was nasty -- so we returned it under their guarantee and they happily took it back and refunded our $$. We'd be lost without Aldi.

I buy mostly everything from aldi. There isn't much I didn't like from there, but thier spaghetti sauce is nasty. I have used it for italian sausage and that is ok but not for pasta!

We buy a lot of the staples-bread-the whole ham(boneless)and cut it into slices and freeze it--french toast sticks-instant potatoes-canned veggies

The only thing I've bought and didn't care for was their onion soup mix--Like Liptons that you use for dips--it wasnt the same less flavor

Everything else has been fine

Their spaghettios are really gross. Their poptarts are not as good. And I have not had good luck with the meat I have gotten there the last few times--went bad before it should have. Once it was chicken, twice hamburger. Don't buy their cherrios either, but all the other cereal we have had has been quite good.

I love their deli meat--prepackaged ham or turkey. Their shredded cheese is very good. Love the animal crackers and vanilla wafers. Their yogurt is awesome--tastes like gourmet. All canned fruit, red beans, tomatoes etc are good. All staples as someone else mentioned. I like their jelly/jam. Just got some instant cappucino mix which is quite good. Their 100% whole grain bread is really good too.

Aldi saves me a LOT of money! I wish there was one closer to my house, but there is on near where my kids go to gymnastics so I go there while they are in class.

My DH will only eat Aldi's spaghetti sauce.
The only thing we haven't liked is there brand of Swiss Cake Rolls. Just plain nasty!
I stock up at Aldi's at least once a month.

We buy just about everything at aldis and havent came across anything that is "nasty" but then again we are not picky about anything and like everything :thumbsup2

We buy almost everything from Aldi's, thier food is oretty good, never had a bad food item from there. We love the frozen pizza, canned vegitables, all the chips, cereal, oatmeal, we buy everything,LOL

I like most of Aldi's stuff. Try their ice cream once. They have the cartons in chocolate, vanilla, and mint chcocolate chip. It's very creamy tasting! :thumbsup2
