Diamond Girls: I just checked the DCL web site and our Cat. 6 cabin has gone up $180 and our Cat. 11 cabin has gone up $140. It will keep going up over time, it pays to book early!



Hey, has anyone heard from Doreen?? I hope she's ok!! Anyone else missing in action??

Thanks! I knew it would go up, but I didn't think it would happen this soon! I feel much better... now, how to survive the next 669 days...

does anyone know what nights the themed dinners are (formal, semi, Captains, Mexifragilistic...)? I am wondering if they change since the itinerary is diffenent.

While on the subject, anyone know what days we are in ports and which are sea days?

I keep a spread of what happens every day so I know what I'll want to do. It's a very small way to pass the time! I envy all of you who have one or more cruises booked in the meantime. We are going to WDW for a short trip in December and then we have nothing (perhaps a small vacation in 2005) until the 8/19 cruise...

Welcome tootyjane, lovley to have you join us. Back to back cruise wow, fantastic, Do you get to keep the same room for both cruises?

Diamond Girls - I believe the itinery is as follows, anybody please correct me if I am wrong:

Sat - Port Canaveral
Sun - Castaway Cay
Mon- At Sea
Tues-Cozumel
Wed- Costa Maya
Thurs-At Sea
Fri-Castaway Cay
Sat- Back Home

Just checked the DCL web and the cruise for us has gone up by $180.

Welcome TootyJane. I see you have a DS that will be 15 during this cruise, my DD will also be 15, can I hire your DS to be a bodyguard for my DD, LOL!!!

For the heck of it, I just checked the DCL website and saw for the four of us, our price has increased by $300.00 for the same category. I'm still going to check, while we are on the ship in January, to see if I can save any $$ with the 10% discount and onboard credits for the 8-19-06 cruise, but it doesn't look promising at this point.

OK I now checked our price and our cabin has gone up $300. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, you made me happy as now I can justify (at least a little bit more) that I gave DCL my $1,000 to hold for me for 2 years.

Andy: My younger DS will be 15, also, and he's already taller than DH and I. He's a good kid, straight A student, and in fact we'll be going to his National Junior Honor Society induction on Thursday night.

Ya know Andy...I've been watching who has been joining the list of 8/19 cruisers and we are most definitely in TROUBLE, My DD will be 14 at cruise time, have you noticed all the boys on this cruise.

My boys are also black belts. They have taken Tae Kwon Do since they were 4. My oldest is going for his 1st stripe in November.

Mjasp -- The 8-12 itinerary is the Western. We had originally booked Eastern & Western cruises and am a bit disappointed that we won't be doing the Eastern. I immediately had faxed our request to Inventory Control when we returned from our June 19 cruise and when the 2006 dates opened up I called DCL daily to see if we got our request. I had given up hope when one CM I talked to told me that all suites had been booked through November. I even told my kids it wasn't going to happen so imagine my surprise when I found out we had gotten our request!! So we've got the Western and then the "Special" Western. I'll live with it. I guess I'll have to find another way to get that Guavaberry rum!

Florida Sun -- Yes, we get the same room for both cruises. We're booked in a Cat. 2. I still can't believe that we're doing this but since oldest ds graduates from high school in June this is sort of the last vacation as a family we'll have for a while. You have to understand this was dh's idea and he does not like to plan ahead which is very frustrating for me! When he said he wanted to do back-to-backs I certainly wasn't going to burst his bubble. LOL.

Verandah Man -- looks as though you won't have any trouble hiring a bodyguard. LOL

O'BWV -- Thank you for adding us to the list. It will be interesting to see just how big this thread ends up being since it's already 52 pages.

Sandy has had her bodyguards assigned since she was an infant. Her brothers were teenagers when she was born and each assigned themselves a bodyguard position. They all know exactly what station they have the night of her Prom! I'm not kidding! They are dead serious about their baby sis.

Hey, maybe I can rent the boys out...one of them is a Marine and one is a former Airman, and the other is a darn good guy.
