I am so Hyped!!!! :cool1:

Many of you already know that I'm taking Devin down to Anaheim (Disneyland) the last week of July this summer. I just found out from a friend that there is an event occurring in L.A. that will use up the "spare day for something special" I had reserved. :sunny:

What is it, you may ask?...

The return of the Treasures of King Tut!

I remember going over to Seattle to see them when they toured in the late 70s. (I was around Devin's age at the time.) There are a couple of pieces that I still remember quite vividly. (It's too bad that one of them, the golden death-mask found on the mummy, won't be making this tour. Bummer! BUT they are bringing 130 artifacts this time, as opposed to the 55 last time.) At twelve, I thought that it would be a once in a lifetime experience and am absolutely thrilled :cheer2: to have another opportunity to see these items.

Unfortunately, the only west coast stop will be in L.A. from mid-June to mid-November (others are scheduled for Fort Lauderdale and Chicago). Fortunately, Devin is absolutely fascinated by anyone that builds pyramids. (Just like mom, hence our trip to the Tulum ruins on the last cruise.) I'm not going to tell him about the Tut exhibit. I'm going to keep this part of the trip as a surprise. I can't wait!!!! :Pinkbounc

Evening All

Hope you are all well! Thanks to you all for the Mothers Day wishes. Weather hear today very cold but lovley and sunny.

Terry: Love your new washer and drier and I bet that drier is coming in handy now with all your bad weather.

Bev: So glad your mum is home and hope she is feeling much better.

Ed: Any more news on your trip in August, come back to WDW for a few days and we will definatley have to meet up.

Mary: Hope the weather is a little better for you. You may need those water shoes now.

Dori: I know how you feel not being from Jersey, I am about as far away as you can get lol. Congratulations on your trip and the The return of the Treasures of King Tut, it all sounds very exciting.

Andy: Hope you are well, I bet you are looking forward to your trip to Florida, can I come too!!!

Darlene: Hope you are well and Stan is holding up, My mum had a lot of treatment for breast cancer 2 years ago and I know what a strain it can be. Thankfully she is fully recovered and feeling great.

Doreen:Hope you are well. How is Karen? My best wishes to you all.

MaryRose: Hope the job is going well, I know you are busy but keep in touch, we miss you.

As I have already welcomed our new guests here is a big group hug :grouphug: to all.

Sue

Dori, oh you are so lucky! Are you sure you will not have room in any of your luggage? :confused3

Sue, I am thinking maybe I need to buy a boat to go with the water shoes. We flood in this are (not us as we live on a hill but in town) when all this snow melts it is going to be a huge mess. Do not want to even think about how muddy it is going to be.

Was on the phone with the Shriner's in Springfield and the visibility is VERY bad down there. Praying they keep the roads salted for Tim's ride in the morning.

Drive and walk safely all.

Mary

SUE - Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to hear that your mum is well now. You can be an "honorary" Jerseygirl. You and Dori. Of course, we are from South Jersey which can seem as far away from North Jersey as Wales sometimes. :rotfl:

BEV - I missed reading that your mom is home. :flower: Hope she is feeling much better and all is well.

DORI - The King Tut exhibit is coming to Philadelphia and I definately want to see it. Your trip just got that much more exciting! :cheer2:

Everyone have a safe and :sunny: day, no matter where you are! We can dream can't we? :3dglasses

Guess what, Sue? According to the article I found, the Tut exhibit will be stopping in at London's Dome of the Millennium. It doesn't say exactly when, but from the timeline set out, I would have to guess sometime in the spring of 2007. Maybe you and Vicki will get a chance to see it too.

Dori :cool1:

Dori: Thats fantastic, I will look out for it, if you hear anymore please let me know.

Oh Lordy, you poor soul!!! We are just having a lot of strong winds right now. The neighbors trash cans keep getting blown intop our yard, and the wind chill factor is around zero tonight. BRRRRRRRR!!! :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:

Andy, Ed - I really feel for you guys! Now you know why I live where I do! I may have to deal with lots of rain and gray skies about 8 months out of the year, but I rarely have to deal with any of that @%#$ (4-letter word - starts with 's' - get your minds out of the gutter - cold, white, slippery). And when it's nice around here (July - September), it's absolutely gorgeous. (You guys realize that I'm violating an unwritten agreement that all northwesterners have... We want all 'foreigners' to think that it rains all the time. That way you won't move here, make it too crowded and raise the property taxes.)

EVERYONE - Check it out! Mt. St. Helens is 'making an ash of herself' again! She erupted again around 5:30 PM (Pacific time) tonight. The steam plume reached 36,000 feet. I am far enough away that I didn't feel a thing. It was totally cool! The news station in Portland, Oregon got some shots of the magma breaking through the lava dome just after dark. Really impressive! It reminded me of shots of Hawaii's volcanoes. (We didn't have any flow, just the orange/red glow showing through the fissures in the lava dome inside the crater.) Like I said before... totally cool!

(I hope that this picture works.)

Dori :umbrella:

Dori,

I heard about this on the passporter board, glad to hear you and your family are far enough away to enjoy the view.

Well a ash cloud beats our snowfall anyday

Ed - One afternoon on the cruise I'll have to get together with everyone that would like to hear a first-hand account of the first eruption of Mt. St. Helens. I was in Yakima (east of St. Helens) visiting a friend (the one helping me with the t-shirts, the one whose dad just had surgery) when the mountain blew it's top in 1980. It was quite an experience! And at 16, I was old enough to remember the details of the event. I'm more than willing to relate the experience, but not via this medium. (too much typing)

Dori :umbrella:

Dori-that was an awesome photo. I did hear something about Mt. St. Helen's blowing her top on our news last evening, but I was drifting in and out of sleep while the news was on, and I missed the segment. I remember watching the movie that was made about Mt. St. Helens after the 1980 eruption, in fact, I think I might still have a copy of it that I recorded off the TV.

Good morning everyone from frigid South Jersey, baby it's cold outside!!! :cold: :cold: :cold: I just had to put the neighbors trash cans and lids back in their yard as they were sitting behind my car. It's 19 degrees with a wind chill factor in the single digits, oh to be in the Caribbean right now!!!!!

HELLO everyone.. And Welcome to MIKE and Family... Yes, we are an awesome group!!

Andy.. that snow is nothing. I will have to take a pictue of all the snow we have here. It covers the knees around here and the doors of the cars if you parked on the roads.. By the way.. did the plaws come and level the snow piles yet??

Ok everyone.. Today is the day that JACLYN will find out if she makes VARSITY LACROSSE for school. If she does we are coming to LONG ISLAND NEXT WEEKEND,,,, Bobby/Cindy/Joanna.. you have room for me and DANIEL,,lol
She is so nervous. There are 5 sophomores trying out for that postion and its really tough.. AND GOSH ITS KILLING ME AS A MOM!!!!..

Ok on to me...LOL I had to get another shot in the foot last night. I guess I have an extra type of "GROWTH" growing on my two toes after my leg surgery. It make it looks like a SHEATH inside.. who knows.. all i know is it hurts to walk after I am on it most of the day,.. SO off to the other surgeon today.. OOCH>>>!!!

SUE HAPPY BELATED MOTHERS DAY!!!I hope it was a great one...

Terry... how is the snow your way?? and yes, I have to confess.. I was thinking bad things.. when you told ANDY you had something for him in your dresser...

Dori.. I heard about the MT ST HELENES blowing again...

DARLENE... how is the CHEMO doing??

Karen is off to FLORIDA on MONDAY. I told her she better write on here now.. I did her TICKER for her this AM..
Ok OFF to shower and the DOCTORS.. talk to you later.. Stay warm.. and TINA,, no more sneezes.. :grouphug:

Hi everyone!

I'm subscribed to the thread but am so focused on the cruise THIS August I can't keep two threads straight! I do check in and read it from time to time. I look forward to meeting all of you.

Happy Wednesday!

Good morning all. DH left at 4:45 this morning to head down to Tewksbury. Can anyone tell me how the weather/driving is down there? :confused3

Have not heard from him yet and wondering how the driving is. He does have his cell phone but want him to keep both hands on the wheel.

What is the temp gong to be today? Is it windy? Are they calling for the sun to come out?

TIA, Mary and boys :flower:

 Hi RobinMarie--I saw you over on the Repo thread, welcome to our little group, well, it's little compared to the Repo Cruise group. I know what you mean about trying to keep up with both threads, I couldn't keep up reading the Repo Cruise thread, I enjoyed the banter, I just couldn't kep up with it. We seem to go on a bit slower pace here, most days anyhow, LOL!!!

DOREEN - Good luck with your foot, OUCH! Hope it goes well. Tell Jaclyn we are sending her pixie dust. :wizard: Can't wait to hear she made the team. Karen is going to FL...!!!!...!!! I'm so jealous.

RobinMarie - Welcome over here at the "other" cruise. I know what you mean about trying to keep up with both threads. Hang in there.

MARY - Hope DH has a good and safe travel day! :moped:

ANDY - My car was entombed in ice yesterday when I left work. Watch the ice patches today.

Talk later,
Darlene

Darlene

By the way, Darlene. You don't have to wait unitl the exhibit gets to Philadelphia, unless you want to. The exhibit will be in L.A. through mid-November. I know of at least one family going on the Repo cruise that plans on hitting the Tut exhibit before the cruise. (The one that told me about it.) Maybe you guys could make a before-cruise DISmeet out of it!

Dori :grouphug:

ANDY - My car was entombed in ice yesterday when I left work. Watch the ice patches today.

Yea I know, I was climbing on several icy steps already today. I'm watching for icy spots very carefully, we don't need anymore falls or twisted knees this close to Spring.

Hazel just got in from dropping Midnight off at the vet. Our pup has a tumor on his leg that is getting removed this afternoon. Midnight will be 11 years old in July, but the vet said he is in great shape (other than the tumor) for a dog his age. All of Midnight's blood work came back normal, so we should have him for a few more years.

Time to hit the pavements again, it's been a very cold day today to walk around reading meters, I can tell you that!!! :cold: :cold: :cold:
