nice picture, time sure does fly. I saw my cousin graduate and although I am not a parent seeing him graduate, makes me know I am getting older:lmao:

Andy.....you all look fantastic!!!!!!! Congratulations and best wishes :goodvibes

My cast came off last week. I'm in a surgical boot/walking cast. My leg is half the size of the other. I wish the doc had warned me that I would shed skin like a rattle snake. Layers of skin came off like a horror movie.

I'm slowly starting to "walk" again. I can walk around the house but that's about it for now. I have to use the crutches when outdoors.

But it sure feels good to have both feet on the ground. And so nice to be able to carry things in my hands again.

Hi Kay--happy to hear you are making progress in the right direction. I remember after I had a cast taken off my leg, it was not a pretty sight. :scared1:

We are now getting ready for Angelina's grad party this coming Saturday. We started off with inviting 60 people, now we have about 100 coming. I'll be glad when this is over and done with!!! Angelina started inviting friends from school, but neglected to tell us until the other day. KIDS!!!!! :headache: :headache: :headache:

I went out this morning and bought more soda, water and iced tea. We have to call the deli to order the lunch meat, cheese and rolls. Another problem, the hall we rented only seats about 80 people. I have no idea what we are going to do if 100 people show up, I'm going  right about now.

went to my friends graduation party today. They had a DJ, a moon bounce, and a dunk tank and it was at the lake. My god kids today lol, when I graduated I didn't even get a party because i was going on this cruise

Oh man, that's a big difference between 60 coming and 100 coming. Not only for the seating but the cost of the extra food!!!! And these days food costs a LOT.

But that is really, really wonderful of you to host a party for her.

Here's one thing I don't get these days.....everyone is now making a big deal out of graduating from 8th grade. Huh? My kids' school has a big dance, a graduation ceremony, the kids get invited to a cotillion, etc, etc.

I don't remember any of that growing up.

when I graduated from 8th grade we got a 8th grade party at this park and then a graduation dance and graduation. For high school we had graduation then grad night in the pocono's at a hotel

For 8th grade when Angelina left the middle school, they had what they call a "Closing Ceremony." Special awards were handed out, kind of a small scale graduation. It was nice, but Angelina had Hazel and I overdress for the occasion, we felt so out of place, what we don't do for our kids.....:lmao:

Yeah, this grad party is not cheap, and since our yard is so small, we had to rent a hall for the party.

Angelina lost her upper and lower retainers this past week. I already paid for two sets of retainers. I told Angelina if she lost them again, she was paying for them. Guess where some of her graduation gift $$ are going? Hazel called the orthodontist yesterday, it is going to cost $450.00 to have both retainers replaced.

I got away with that for Angelina's Sweet 16 in August 2006, didn't work this time. I would have much rather gone on a cruise than give this party. I get so stressed out with parties, that's why when Angelina was younger, most of her birthday parties were held at eating establishments!!! :lmao:

for my sweet 16, I only went to dinner with 2 friends:rotfl2:

Yeah, my DD tends to be quite spoiled, that's for sure. I just don't know how that happened.............:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I'm spoiled too :thumbsup2 . I get to go to every concert I want too in NYC, NJ, or PA so that's a lot of money, but now since 2007 i've had to pay for most of the concerts, not all of them though

:rotfl:

I've started to get cheap on the birthday parties. Both kids host sleepover parties. The great thing is they are old enough that I go to bed at my normal time and let the kids be on their own.

I serve a pizza dinner and cake.

DS and his friends pull all-nighters. Then it takes days for them to recover. DD and her friends are smarter. They stay up late but generally are asleep by 1am. They all camp together as Girl Scouts so they know what happens when you don't get enough sleep.

I am out of my surgical boot and now am wearing some kind of high tech ankle wrap with all kinds of straps. At least I'm walking on two feet now. Though I can't walk in a straight line - I look like a drunken sailor.

So the doc tells me I need four weeks of physical therapy. Then I should be 100% recovered. Which will be just in time for a week down at the Jersey shore.

Hazel and I just got back from BJ's where we picked up 6 bags of chips, 4 bags of pretzels, 6 dozen mini brownies and 8 dozen fresh baked cookies. Tomorrow Hazel has to pick up the lunchmeat so we can get it rolled, and she has to pick up the veggies so we can get them cut for the veggie tray.

Only two more days and this party will be done and ovwer with, and I for one, can't wait. I told Hazel we should have just given Angelina a check for $1,000 and called it even.......:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Kay--Happy to hear you are getting around better, even if you are walking like a drunken sailor.

We survived DD's sleep over birthday party. And it was cheap, too. Just the cost of a bunch of pizza's and other fixings.

I went to bed around 12:30am and left the girls to themselves.

Started physical therapy this week. Some things are back to normal and other things are quite painful. Its all new and confusing to me. :confused3

How great is it that the 4th of July holiday falls on a Friday. I'm not allowed in the ocean at all during the month of July. We're going to see WallE on Friday then the family comes over to celebrate DD's birthday on Saturday.

Have a great 4th of July everyone!!!!

Hi There Kay........

Angelina's grad party turned out very nice. We had around 80 people in attendance and Angelina made out quite well with cash gifts.

I added pics from the party to her other grad pics at this link: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/563785895ViLbVF

We don't get to see much of Angelina these days, she always seems to be off with her friends, but that will change by the middle of August as most of the other kids will be going away to college. Angelina's massage therapy school doesn't begin until 9/15.

We are going to be spending 5 nights at OKW starting the end of August, so at least we have that to look forward too!!! :goodvibes
