Andy,.. how is the roof coming along??

Well, they were supposed to be here this morning, and as of 2:30pm still no roofers. Bill, the owner who was here the other day to give us a quote, said they have been very busy, so I guess they must be tied up with doing another job. About an hour ago, I saw Bill going into someone's house carrying his pad, he must be giving another estimate.

As long as the roof gets done before anymore heavy rains come, we will be fine.

Tina-the frame looks great!!! :cool1:

Terry-you, a faux pas, if not politics, and not religion, I wonder what it could be???? :rotfl:

Terry - I hope the rest of your day went better.

I cannot think of anything you might have said that would upset anyone. They don't know you like we do. I would never be offended by anything you said!!

Hi everyone :wave2:

The faux pas at work really wasn't a big deal because after my break I went back and talked more to Maggie about the topic and explained that I don't really see that specific issue as "black and white", like I may have given the impression. lol She's a very nice woman and doesn't thrive on drama so I don't think she even mentioned our conversation to anyone else. The topic is definitely a much more contemporary topic than say political or religious debates, but people seem to feel very strongly, one way or the other, about this. Since I'm sure I'd be wondering if I were all of you, I'll let you know what the topic was: whether mothers should work full time or not. It all got started innocently enough when a woman we work with came into our offices and started talking about the problems she's been having the last couple of days since her kids went back to school and how she wasn't there for them at the end of their first day of school. So I jokingly said to Maggie "For the first time in their lives, I wasn't waiting at home for my sons on their first day of school". I said it facetiously (obviously, since my sons are 18 and 15. LOL) but she took it a little too seriously. And then I realized that EVERY other woman in our office is or was a working mom, unlike I had been.

Anyway, I am NOT going to discuss it further here on this thread even if some of you comment on it because it's a very personal issue with valid points on both sides, and since we're all friends, I don't want to start up any potential debates here. :grouphug:

The rest of my day was just fine, and the subject was not brought up again! :teeth:

Joyce: Welcome back! How exciting for you and your friend, and also for your DD!!! :goodvibes

Andy: I hope the roofers got there this afternoon or will be there soon before any more rain :umbrella: :)

Now I have to decide what's for dinner tonight... :scratchin

I second that..................................... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Tonight my dad met my son and I at the restaurant for dinner. Usually we have some sort of fish on Friday. It really hit the spot. I sure hope the WW is working. I think it is.

I am looking at the package of Vienna Fingers my husband came home with. What a taboo. I think I will have a cup of coffee and read my book.

NO COOKIES!!!

I hope everyone has a great night.

Elaine :cool1: :goodvibes :wave2: :surfweb:

can anyone help me to put some personal items in my posts, such as where I live and my vacation list. Just 1, but it was the greatest.

Thanks

Elaine

Thanks Shirley and Elaine!

Elaine: You have to go into your "User CP" section, there's a link to it up on the left side in the red bar. Then go into "Edit Signature" to add whatever you like to create a signature, such as listing the cruise you just went on, any Disney trips, and the 2008 cruise that you're planning! :) Same thing with "Edit Profile", that's where you can type in your location.

Good Morning Everyone, :surfweb:

I can't believe I am up so early. I am waiting for my coffe to finish brewing. It is not the same as ordering room service and having it delivered to my cabin. How many more weeks :hourglass til our next cruise???

I hope all the kids who started back to school this week had a good one. :thumbsup2

Have a good weekend everyone!!! :wave2:

Good Morning Karen--I'm up doing the laundry as I check my messages and the boards. Real exciting life, huh??? :rotfl2:

Oh wait, my morning newspaper was just delivered, now I will have something else to do, until I cut the lawn later. :rotfl:

Have a good day everyone!!! :thumbsup2

Oh Joy, Hazel and Angelina are not going to be happy campers in a few minutes, the roofers just arrived a few minutes ago and are already up on the roof tearing off the old shingles, it won't be long until they start the banging.

Did I forget to mention, Hazel and Angelina, unlike me, are "NOT" morning people!!!

Oh well, at least the roof IS being fixed today!!! :teeth:

I am a morning person too!

Made coffee already.
Drank coffee.
Read Paper.
Laundry all done.
Dishes done and put away even though I have a dishwasher which I never use.
Now until noon when I have to go out "PRICELESS"!!

Thank you for the help. Believe it or not I can type like the wind, but other user knowledge is my son's department.

Elaine

I can't beleive it, Angelina is still sleeping through all this banging on the roof, LOL!!! :rotfl2:

Her poor cat is scared to death though. :guilty:

They should be done soon, then I get to go cut the lawn. :yay:

Thanks, Andy

Karen and I are morning people, laundry, :laundy: coffee, :surfweb: newspaper, a good book, just vegging out; Doreen is the sleeper

Maybe Angelina got some of those mechanic earplugs that Jaclyn and I wore to bed at night on the MAGIC!!!

That's me now, "vegging out" until the roofers are finished.

I started the laundry, but since Hazel got up early, :rotfl: she is finishing it, which allowed me the time to sit down and pay the bills for this week. :scared1:
