Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

OKAY OKAY OKAY - What the heck did I say about packing LIGHT!!!!!! DARN IT I HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF PACKED!!!!!!!!!!!

My Plan: 2 bathsuits/2 formal outfits/7 shorts/7 tops/2 capris with shirts to intermingle for dinner/7 days worth of delicates /1 dress shoe/1 sandal/1 sneaker/1 water shoe. SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN RIGHT? So why then am I in my bedroom sneaking MY stuff into my family members luggage? BECAUSE I DID NOT FOLLOW MY PLAN! After all, a girl can't just travel with 1 pr of sandals can she ! And 2 bathsuits & 2 capris pleeeeease, what was I thinking. And what about bathsuit coverups? Not in my original plan! And my cordless smoothie-maker!! That takes up 1/2 bag alone


Shhh.......Please don't tell my two John's that in their suitcases, under their shirts and shorts are ALL MY CLOTHES!!!!

The past few cruises we started boarding at 11:45, it's almost that time now, so those at the DCL Terminal today should be getting ready to start boarding. That will be us next Saturday at this time!!!!!

We'll be dragging...oh, I mean *bringing* DSs with us to the 3pm DIS meet too. lol

My kids asked if they "had" to go and I told them "no". I"m hoping that they decide to go but you know how teens can be, the more you push them, the harder they resist.

Does anyone have a picture of the T's that Andy made? I'd love to see what they look like. It'll give me a idea of what to look for on that first day.

I can't believe that in 1 week I'll be back on the Magic! I'm getting so excited that I can hardly focus!

Who else besides my DS Craig (18) and Bev's DD Lindsay (18) are in the Over-18 crowd?? I know they don't have a formal club or anything, and since Craig and Lindsay have met before, I was thinking that if anyone else had a DD or DS who was 18-21 (or so), maybe we can get them to at least meet on the first day. I can't remember now if any of the other teens/young adults were over 18 or not...

Edited to add: I just took a fast look at Page 1. I forgot about Emma, Marla, and Anita!! I hope you all can make it to the DIS meet at 3pm on Saturday in the Promenade lounge to meet a couple other people your age


P.S. John and I were supposed to be on the road to NJ by now but we decided to get a few more things done around the house. We have no commitments this evening so it doesn't matter what time we get down there. We'll probably just walk around the boardwalk tonight and grab dinner somewhere

Well we are flying in Upper class and the seat converts to a bed, now if I can convince the kids to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!1

Andrew,

Make sure that the kids have their seat belts belted once you lay the seats flat so they can go to sleep.

We took a British Airways flight to the UK a few years back and stayed in business class that had the lay-down seats. DD happily fell asleep but soon after we encountered turbulence and the flight attendant had to wake up DD to have her put on her seat belt.

DD never really did fall back to sleep after that.

DS didn't sleep at all because he played with the fold out TV screen. What was funny about that was that we told the flight attendant to block out the channels that showed movies that were inappropriate for kids.

But we didn't know that it didn't apply to the foreign language channels and DS got to watch the first Spiderman movie on the Spanish channel. DS was about 9 at the time and wasn't allowed to watch PG-13 movies then.

I've been on about 14 cruises but I have to admit that I am the most excited about this one. I'm so hyper right now and still up in the air whether to drive or fly. Car's going in the state inspection on Monday so I just got 4 new tires today so I know it'll pass inspection. I know the car will be in good shape if I decide to drive. It's funny, none of us are afraid to fly, I just think it will be too tiring and stressful for my mom at the airport with security etc. If we decide to drive we'll be leaving Wednesday around noon.

Both DD Lindsay and I are very shy until we got to know others. My mom is not shy at all. She just has a hearing problem so if anyone speaks to her and she doesn't respond right away - she might not have heard you. She is 88 years young and very excited about this cruise. After 14 cruises, she said she loves DCL the best. Right now she's busy fitting on her clothes and starting to pack.

Just want to wish God speed to all who are traveling this weekend and hope you arrive safely.

I have to get ready for work this PM at the restaurant, but fortunately, it is my last Saturday night for two weeks. Thank you Magic

I have narrowed down the packing to 1 large, and 1 small and 1 carry-on. I think that will work for me, plus I stuffed another carry-on in the small for purchases.

So I hope everyone has a great evening and I will talk to you all later. I cannot believe in 1 week from now, I will be on a ship

My ds Mike is 21, he will be with us at Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay.Cozumel Beach Break and the Chacchoben ruins tour. It would be nice if there was a place just for 18-21 college age crowd.
