Terry,

Are you going to ship it down ahead of time, or pack in it with your stuff?
I'm glad you didn't trip over the box and fall down, that could have been nasty with just a week before you leave.

Do you think we will be noticed in the DCL Terminal a week from this Saturday??? :rotfl2:

Andy: It won't be necessary to ship the leis down ahead of time because inside that HUGE box was several flat, small, and EXTREMELY LIGHTWEIGHT boxes that the actual leis are in. I'll open each of these small boxes tonight just to be sure that they sent all 115 leis. But the small boxes will fit nicely around the edges of the inside of our luggage. And since I'll have to pack to make the boxes fit, I'll have that much more room on the way back for souvenirs. :teeth:

The leis, along with the shirts you made, will definitely get us noticed as a group, that's for sure! :rotfl:

No problem....at least no problem for me....my husband is the one you'll have to thank....he does most of the schlepping of our heavy bags.

Since we don't plan on bring ALL our snorkeling gear this year (just for me and DH) and we are only packing for 7 days and not 14 ... our first cruise was last year on the 14 night repo ... and we know now what we need and don't need ... and ... and ... and .... I think this is a bunch of wishful thinking that our bags won't be 50 lbs each and we won't have eight of them....

...I'm rambling again...

Anna

Anna: Same here! My DH and big, strong DSs do all my schlepping for me :thumbsup2

Of course, even they don't usually have too much schlepping to do since we use a limo service here at home to get us to and from the airport, and a limo service down in Florida to get from the airport to the Port, and then from the Port to WDW. From WDW back to the airport, we're using Disney's Magical Express service, and they take your bags from you right at your resort and you don't see them again until you get back to your home airport. :teeth: Very simple ::yes::

Since the boards are so quiet, I'll take a moment and ramble some more...

....I looked up the word schlep in the dictionary a few weeks ago and since then I've found so many opportunities to use it. Isn't that strange? Anyway,
here is the definition and it so appropriate:

schlep or schlepp also shlep ( P ) Pronunciation Key (shlp) Slang
v. schlepped, or schlepped also shlepped schlep·ping, or schlepp·ing shlep·ping schleps or schlepps shleps
v. tr.
To carry clumsily or with difficulty; lug: schlepped a shopping bag around town.

v. intr.
To move slowly or laboriously: schlepped around with the twins in a stroller.

n.
An arduous journey.
A clumsy or stupid person.

schlepper or schlepper or shlepper n.

Its getting close for us early departers.

I have one more day of work, :cool1: , friday is packing day and last minute errands, take pets to boarding, trash to dump day.

When Im done with this I will be ready for our vacation. :rotfl2:

Here is our list of things we do before we leave the house on vacation.
Most of the irregular items are lessons learned:

:) Make sure all toilets are flushed
:) Make sure all doors are locked
:) Make sure all windows are locked
:) Make sure garage door is down (you don't want to know)
:) Make sure all garbage disposals have been run
:) Make sure all plants are thoroughly watered
:) Stop mail
:) Stop newspaper
:) Unplug all electronics (TVs, computers)
:) Make sure TiVO is on and records favorite shows
:) Make sure washing machine is empty
:) Let neighbors know we'll be out of town
:) Make sure all garbage cans in kitchen are empty
:) Make sure dishwasher is empty or clean
:) Make sure refrigerator(s) and freezer(s) doors are closed
:) Make sure fence gates are closed
:) Make sure all lights are off except one
:) Make sure alarm clocks are off
:) Make sure the garage door is down as we drive away
:) Double check the garage door is down as we drive away
:) Have the boys check the garage door is down as we drive away

After our trip to Florida at Christmas last year, we came home and our garage door was up. After a terrifying search through the house, we realized no one had been in the house or garage. So for ten days the garage door was wide open and the door into the house wasn't locked. We assume there was something blocking the door when we left and we didn't notice that after the door started to go down that it went back up. We were lucky. It also confirms we live in a safe neighborhood. We did spend the next several weeks trapping mice that had come in for some warmth.

:) Triple check the garage door is down
:) Drive around the block and come back to be sure the garage door is down
:) Call neighbor during trip to verify the garage door is down
:) Place a webcam outside so we can check at anytime the garage door is down

...you get the picture. We are getting close now...maybe I should start checking now that the garage door is down.

YES TWO DAYS LEFT AND GO EARLY SATURDAY

Disneycrazzzy...........I'm with you about the toilets and the garage door. My DH didn't flush before one trip and the smell in the house was terrible. And since he usually joins us, I've mdae him his own special check list. And I'm obsessive compulsive about the garage door. So many times I've driven away only to turn around and double check. I guess I go on automatice pilot when I'm pulling out of the driveway, that I'm just not sure.

Good luck to you too. :thumbsup2

No problem...no need to stress about magnets....I have enough for 10 doors if you want more....I've got Stitches, Mickeys, flags, lots of nautical letters, and a few surprises that I ain't tellin'.

If you are really in 6030 and 6028 as listed in the cabin list (and not 6628 and 6630 mentioned above)...those are the cabins that Melinda (Bmwdsny) and I were in for the 14 day repo last August. Great cabins.

I think my disease of mixing up my cabins is catching....

Anna

that is always my DH biggest fear!!! he always ask me that again and again.."Hon, did we close the garage door??" Every time we go out and i usually answer "YES DEAR"!!! like the wife says on Carousel of Progress!!!! :lmao:

but he does freaks when i say, "i don't know or i don't remember"!! :sad2:

Anna, please make sure your garage door is shut before you pull away from the house, OK!!! :rotfl2:

And I'll make sure our kitchen window is shut and locked!!! :lmao:

Feel better Mel, I get those sinus headaches and I know exactly how you feel, take care and rest up.

I usually get sinus headaches when a storm is approaching. Go figure. :confused3 And they usually go away after the sun sets. My neighbor gets them at the same time. Maybe there is something in our water?

:bounce: I am the same way with regards to the doors being locked, garage door down, stove and oven being turned off. I am a little OCD. I can print my boarding pass(SWA) 24 hours prior to taking off so I will be at my computer :surfweb: @ 8:15AM on Thursday so to make sure I get a window seat. I am freaking out right now thinking about next Friday when I have to get up at 3AM which I am sure I will not be sleeping at all. I will fall asleep even before the plane takes off. I have to drive :drive: to Norfolk, VA to catch my flight and I will be in the traffic :car: with the early shift for the navel base(God Bless Those Men and Women who are out there protecting us)!! which sometimes can be backed up. I am driving my friends brand new SUV there. They will be flying in that night from Europe and it worked out that their car did not have to stay at the airport for 3 weeks($$$$$$$$) while they were gone and it works out for me because they usually drive me to the airport so I don't have to pay for parking(more money for Jaclyn and Daniel!!!)

I must get back to making my checklist and checking it once, twice, three, four times!!!!!

Hi Everyone!!!! ARE WE THERE YET??!!??

Ed, Moira. Denise, Melinda, Darlene & Andrew - I'm just plain jealous! Less than 3 days to go now!

Moira - So terribly sorry about your loss. The thread isn't the same without you!

Terry- Yay for the leis!! I packed my glow necklaces, magnets and pins and they took up alot of room! Add in my cordless smoothie maker and there is very little room for clothes. So if you see a woman wearing nothing but a glow necklace and a green lei be sure to ask her for a magnet and a pin :rotfl:

Hey Doreen & Bev - I'm dying for those earrings!!!

Andy - Love the daily countdown - Thanks!

Anna - I tried reply to your PM but your mailbox was full. I would love magnets for the teens door. Could I request "Sweet 16 Cruise" Thanks!

Hey that worked out well that this list is on the top of the page!

If I missed anyone, please let me know. Thanks!

After reading through posts I decided to order some theme clothes. I ordered pirate clothes, 60's & 70's clothes. For crying out loud, tell me there are any more themes, I'm wearing myself out :rotfl2:

Getting punchy!

MR

HELLO??? WHERE IS EVERYBODY?!

(I only need 4 more posts for 600......)

How can I only have 600 posts???? I feel like I never shut up ;)

MR

Yea, and we will be to page 700 soon!!! ;)

Oh, just one more thing.........I have lost 32 pounds! (only 68 pounds to go in 10 days!!)

MR

Wow Andy - 700 pages! Isn't that great? BTW, I love your new picture of your "pirate" family. You inspired me to get some pirate garb. We won't looking nearly as good as your crew, but hey, at least it's something!
