Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

I am feeling pretty good about my 10,000 guess. I don't know if I have the time right, but I do think we will get there tomorrow.

Temps here at the Jersey shore are about 10 degrees cooler BUT a plague of black flies descended on the beach making it impossible to stay. Almost everyone left by 4pm. My white beach bag looked almost black with so many flies on it.

We're in Cape May county. Yes, the water has been getting colder and colder all week. It feels around 60 degrees. You can see the warmer water out in the distance beyond the breakers.

Saw lots and lots of dolphins this week.

Local doctor said kids should not wear eag plugs in the ocean for safety purposes. They need to be able to hear the life guards.

We need four leis. I'll pay for them on the ship.

We're getting acclimated to hot temps but we're all utterly exhausted by dinnertime....my kids kept on overdoing it in the water and were zombies the next morning. I'm actually glad that on Castaway Cay we have to be back on the ship fairly early.

Andy - the Empress of the Seas leaves from Philly every Saturday doing a 7 day cruise to Bermuda. As a travel agent I was allowed to bring one guest with me to tour the ship before it leaves before it leaves for Bermuda.

2 weeks from tonight, I'll be too excited to sleep.

Should we guessed the time and date of the 10,000th post, should we guess who's going to be the lucky to post it? My guess is hmm, I don't know.

Andy - the Empress of the Seas leaves from Philly every Saturday doing a 7 day cruise to Bermuda. As a travel agent I was allowed to bring one guest with me to tour the ship before it leaves before it leaves for Bermuda.

Will it be docked at the Old Navy Shipyard? If so, and if I remember, I can go to the end of Red Bank Ave. and see it tomorrow from the Jersey side of the river. I can go down around noon and wave to you, LOL!!!

Jeff--Where will you be staying in Daytona Beach? Daytona is only about 25-30 miles east of where my mom lives. Maybe we could hook up for dinner Thursday evening. Our flight arrives around 2:30 Thursday afternoon and it will take about an hour to get to my mom's from the airport. Do you have plans for dinner on Thursday?

Dinner Thursday sounds like a great idea! All I know is Helen owns a condo in Daytona Beach. I will speak to her over the weekend and get the address and let you know. Helen has never been on a cruise so I think she would enjoy talking to more people who enjoy the DCL experience.

My mom used to do some private duty nursing in the Daytona Beach/South Daytona Beach area, so she would know the area better than I would. We did fly into Daytona Beach airport a few times, it is right next to the speedway, that's about all I know of Daytona Beach, LOL!!!
