:wave2: Hello, This is my first post towards the 10,000! My name is Bob and my wife is PaulaM. We're booked for 2 cabins on this cruise, our 1st. I had to create this new member name so that i could get on, my wife's been hogging the laptop trying to read ALL the posts, along with her sister's, Johna & Mary Rose, who are also cruising with their families. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and enjoying our 1st cruise.

Bob:wave2:

Hi Bob

This is our first cruise too,
I see your younger daughter is the same age as ours

I suspect they will be hanging out with the other 9 yo girls that will be on baord

LOL, I take the day before we leave off for all those last minutes items.
Sat the 12th all I need to do is put the suitcases in the trunk and off we go.

But on Aug 11th I will be a wreck with all the items I need to do.

Ed

The only thing keeping me out of full blown panic is that I'm too busy panicking about all of the stuff at work I need to get finished before I go on vacation!!!! :furious:

Thunderstorms weren't too bad for us last night. Yeah, I read that tonight could be bad.

Andy......you got an upgrade? I missed that post.

For those on the Coz snorkeling trip, I agree with advice to stay with it and just creat your own fun. I think we all need to lower our expectations on what Coz will look like post-hurricane.

Anyone interested in trying to find a good beach in Costa Maya? They say Majahual is better than the Disney beach excursion. Our plan is to take a cab over and then just explore until we find a family-friendly place.

I know a bunch of you are doing the ruins but we just want to be beach bums that day.

No docs yet. We're hitting the NJ shore tomorrow for a week. I've done absolutely nada in terms of packing. I'll do it all this afternoon/evening.

Here's a lunch-time contribution towards 10,000 posts :sunny:

Moira: Congrats on receiving your documents!!

Andy: You poor thing, keep cool! :cold: I think those bad thunderstorms will be arriving here today/this evening.

Darlene: Sandy will look adorable no matter what the color of her cast is, but I know what you mean about the color-coordination thing :teeth:

5by5: I'm kind of in the same situation here at work. This is only my third week of work at a new job (and my first time back to work in over 18 years!) and the only other person in my department is going on vacation next week, for two weeks, so I've been concentrating on learning A LOT, in a very short period of time. :hourglass I'm now past the "stressed" stage and have just been laughing maniacly (sp?) when I think of running the department all by myself next week :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Well lunch is about over, bye for now! :wave2:

DOREEN!!!!!! MY SMOOTHIE PAL! I love those pictures. Thanks Lyn you made me smile!

Okay people, we are about 200 people and we only have two lousy smoothie makers coming? Anyone have one? I have two but I don't have room to pack two hmmmm maybe my sisters can bring my other one. Paula? Johna? Got any room in your suitcases (yeah right, me either :rotfl2: )

I want my DOCS!!

Anyone upgraded???? I can't be because of the kids cabin, but I can live vicarously through the rest of you. Actually, in 2004 I don't think a single one of us was upgraded.

How about you Jeff, were you upgraded? If you were, would that make you Captain?? :lmao:

Mary Rose

Hey Mare
would love to take your other smoothie maker  now if I can only convince Bob to wear all of his clothes instead of packing them
I am very sure that I would have more than enough room to take the smoothie maker and all the shoes Shanna and I will need on the cruise :rotfl2:

Paula

I WANT MY DOCUMENTS!!!

I'm getting jealous of those that have gotten yours. I know they will be here soon, but I WANT THEM NOW.

You know, when you start planning a vacation 1 1/2 years before you take it, you kinda assume at that time that 3 weeks before you go, you're going to be fairly far along with your packing. Since I'm not, I beginning to panic a little here. :scared1: On the bright side, except for a pair shoes for my DS, and new sneakers for DD, I think our shopping is done.

BTW, IMHO, flip flops do not count as a pair of shoes.

We've really been getting clobbered with storms here, too. I was away last week, but we got a really nasty storm that knocked out power for 1000's for days. We've been really lucky in that the only thing we've lost is cable, but my dog is scared to death of the storms so I've been losing lots of sleep due to the shaking/frantically panting dog sitting on my chest. I'm really hoping this stormy pattern moves along soon!

Anyway, here's my contribution to 10,000.

After UPS couldnt deliver yesterday as no one was in so no signature they turned up today, not a lot in them this year as I completed the online check in first so they must save a lot on the postage, anyway have everything now and just two weeks to go to Florida!

Paula

I don't mind wearing all my clothing, but I had no idea Disney ran a clothing optional cruise!!! Everybody, keep your eyes closed!

:wave2: Hello There Bob, welcome to the Cruisin' Castaways and to the DIS!!!

Came home for lunch to a nice and toasty 90* house. Our central air broke down about 10pm last evening. Tina, you will get a kick out of this, our service man will be here between 1 and 5 this afternoon to repair our unit.

I told Hazel and Angelina to spend the morning at the mall, they are "Back to School" clothes shopping today. Eeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! At least they are able to keep cool for a little while, as they have to be back home by 12:30 and sit in this heat until the repairman arrives. I told them if they get to hot, to go sit in the car with the air on.

Darlene, those storms were wicked last night, they kept waking me up, and I can usually sleep through anything. More severe storms are predicted tonight as well. Looks like we'll be eating out tonight!!!

I sympathize with you, we turned our AC on over Memorial Day weekend, it worked great until we went in the basement and found it leaked. $7k later we have a new ac & heater, but at least the house is cold now.

Looking forward to meeting you, especially after reading all of your posts!

Bob

P.S. our DD Shanna, just turned 16 2 weeks ago, this is her cruise! (for us)

I just stopped by the house to check on Hazel and Angelina. Angelina is asleep on the couch with an ice pack on her chest, I sent Hazel outside to sit in my work car (left the air on) for a few minutes to cool off, and the repairman (so we were told) should be here shortly. It's up to 94* in our living room.

Gotta run :wave2:

We continue to be in a strong heatwave here in London and most of England, temps 33/35c every day (near 100f) if you go on the london tube its more like 40c, at night doesnt dip below 20c, hot and humid I call it August Florida weather without the air con.

I will be glad to go to Florida in two weeks to

COOL OFF

Oh, Andy!
I want to cry for Hazel and Angelina.

Hi Everyone, :wave2:

Andy I thought the cloud was lifted over you. I hope he can fix it today otherwise I suggest checking into a hotel and cool down and use the pool!!!

The heat index is over 100 here in Williamsburg,VA. I wouldn't and couldn't have survived during colonial times down here.

Three weeks from today I hope to be in the pool at the Radisson, having a cocktail and waiting for my fellow Disers to arrive and then overtake Grills that evening! :woohoo:

Will we reach 9000 by tonite!! :surfweb:

Stay cool everyone!!!
