I always wanted to be Irish, does that count for anything? Love the color green. Wish I was born on St. Pat's Day instead of the Ides of March. If my mother could have only held out for 2 more days............

German on my mom's side of the family........Irish on my dad's side of the family, and yes, I have the gift of the gab, but usually with just me typing fingers mind you, LOL!!! :lmao:

:thumbsup2 :shamrock: :shamrock: Had to stand up and be counted here! :sunny: :shamrock: :shamrock:

I heard that Bonine was different from Dramamine because you could take it at the first signs of feeling ill & it will still help. I haven't tested that theory out though, so I'm not positive. The first night is definitely the most difficult, but after that it usually doesn't bother me. Bonine is also not suppose to make you as drowsy as Dramamine, but it just wipes me out. I heard Ginger Ale helps because of the Ginger. I might try having a glass with dinner that first night!

I was at a fair recently and brought some ginger candy. It was so sweet i couldnt stand it! But i think the ginger ale is a good idea. I think i'll just bring the bonine with me just in case, that is whenever i decide to start packing!!

I will have the Bonine on hand just in case too. You never know! My DH swears by those wrist things too. He never seems to be bothered though. I remember one rocky night on the Norwegian Dawn, we were in the theater watching them do an Andrew Lloyd Webber production. I had been looking forward to it all week, but I kept watching the stage go up and down up and down, and after about 10 minutes of that, I said to DH that I had to leave immediatly. We ran & got the kids from the kid's area & headed back to the room. A lot of people were heading to their rooms at that point! It was after 9pm & the beds hadn't been pulled down yet, so my DH had to open the beds & he was swaying all over the place. He kept having to stop & rest for a second because he was feeling so ill. That was the only time I saw him affected by the movement, but that night was bad. We were all fine, once we lied down in bed. What a relief! I probably should've told you all to grab some popcorn while I rambled! LOL popcorn::

I just clicked in and saw all these proud Irish people standing up and being counted... it brought a tear to my eye!! sniff... :lmao:

So, we'll start each morning of the cruise with the Irish National Anthem! In Irish I might add!! :rotfl2:

Yes, I think we can all pick out those with the gift of the gab!!

Diane, I would agree with your hubbie, whether it is in my head or not, it seems to work! And no side effects! Well except for red holes in your wrists!!
MaryJo, have you met Ms O Shea yet?? :goodvibes

:shamrock: :shamrock: My first job is over for the day, my second job (mother of one with husband sailing the Irish seas) now starts!

Until later!

M.
Edited cause of my rubbish spelling!

Please send some pixie dust Doreen's way, her long nightmare may be ending soon and she is seeing light at the end of the tunnel. The power of prayer always works!

Wow Molly.....those are some interesting vacations. What didn't you like about Japan Disney? Just curious.

Shirley

:sad1: The weather was horrible, the rooms were SMALL, a huge language barrier and the earthquake didn't help any at all. I was so happy when the planes wheels lifted off the ground.:lmao:

A lot more people on the 8-12-06 cruise received their docs today via UPS, we shouldn't be too far behind now. I just told my mom to be on the lookout for the big brown truck!!! :goodvibes

I cant believe i just ran out of popcorn too! popcorn:: (kidding!) Sorry your family was so sick that night, the same thing happened to me my first cruise. I spent most of the first night in the cabin and my dh and kids were running around the ship!
I saw the norwegian Dawn leave out of New York once, i swear i thought it was going to hit the Verazzano Bridge, it must come within feet of it!
I did try the wrist band once, but i couldnt stand them touching my wrists. i know that sounds wierd.
I will just throw a whole bunch of anti seasick stuff in my bag and hopefully something will work.
