We are home! It looks like I missed a busy weekend with proms and birthdays and dr and hospital visits. Hope all is well with everyone!

We spent the weekend in the hospital. Stan did have a drain installed, poor guy. His temp was 103.2 on Thur evening. So we took him in through ER on Fri. They pumped him with antibiotics and it finally broke last night. This drain is really weird, not like his other one. this one is very noticeable and can't be hidden in his pants. I'm afraid he will hook it on something and pull it out again. They said this is the last drain they will install...if this doesn't resolve it the next step is surgery to remove the offending section of colon. I half wish they had just done it this time and gotten it over with. And I am not one to jump at surgery.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERRY! I'm so glad to hear that you had some good news and will keep you in prayer for the rest. Don't borrow tomorrows troubles, take them one at a time.
Lyn - I am so sad for you that your son won't be able to make it home. Employers really need to be more family-friendly. I know you tried not to make your son feel bad. That is what moms do. But I sure want to cry with you!
Bev - Lindsay looks like she enjoyed her Prom! How cool to go in a carriage. I didn't go to my senior prom because my "boyfriend" (future 1st husband) had already asked someone else and I didn't want to go without "him". Boy was that stupid. I had gone to the Prom as a Junior so I didn't miss out entirely. But I sure wish I had that decision to make over again. To make up for it my oldest son went to 4 Proms! By the time Sandy goes I may need to take out a loan! JK! How are you feeling?

I know I am missing some important stuff, like DORI - Soap Opera stars make big bucks. But it's not an easy place to live...hope everything smooths out for you pronto!

:goodvibes :goodvibes going out for Marty, Diane's DD, Terry's dad and sister, and Dave.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Just a bit of an update for all those that sent prayers for my DD. It's been a tough week with lots of tests. We saw the neurologist, she had an MRI, and then a CT Scan. The CT Scan was tough because they had to put in an IV & she howled like a little puppy dog. My poor baby! Anyway the good news is that they found nothing that is causing the headaches so they believe it is just stress she puts on herself. She is like her Mom & puts waaaay to much pressure on herself to get straight A's. The bad news is that they did find a lesion on her skull but it is flat and they believe benign. It has nothing to do with her headaches but they found it while searching for a cause. They will keep an eye on it & do another CT Scan in 4 months just to make sure it doesn't change. I am trying not to worry, but it is so hard not to. I know many of you have your on worries right now, so I really appreciate the extra prayers you sent our way. I do believe in the power of good thoughts so please keep them coming if you can!

Have a great long weekend!
Diane

Diane: I'm glad that nothing bad showed up, but I can definitely understand your concern and worry about the lesion on DDs brain. I hope it doesn't change, and that there will be no need for them to do anything about it. My sister was having bad headaches a little over a year ago so she had an MRI and they found a brain tumor! Now a year later, they've done another MRI, it hasn't changed a bit, and they feel it could've been there her entire life and wouldn've gone undetected if not for the MRI. I hope this is the case with your DD; that it turns out to be "nothing". Hugs to you, I know you are still worried about this.

Ed: This is DEFINITELY a "home maintenence" weekend. :earseek: Starting Friday, I started stripping the wallpaper off DS14's bedroom. Then yesterday (Saturday), we finished stripping the wall paper, filled in the holes, sanded the entire wall surface, primered the ceiling and walls, painted the ceiling, painted the walls, then today finished up painting the trim. In between all this painting I took DS14 shopping for new bedding, curtain, area rug, lamp, and some wall decor. He's decided on a "medieval" theme, of sorts. I'll post pics once he has everything moved back in, and tomorrow DH will hang up the new mirror, shelf, and other wall decor. My rheumatoid arthritis is KILLING me this weekend :( I've been doing most of the painting myself. John's been doing the cutting in work, and Craig and Robby have been doing painting and other work, here and there.

The sad thing is, starting tomorrow morning, I have to start this entire process all over again on MY bedroom! We have a king sized bed being delivered by Macy's on Friday, and the room has to be all done before it arrives. I'm cursing the previous owner who put up wall paper in the bedrooms!!!

AND ON TOP OF THIS, John invited his father and step mother over for a cookout tomorrow. :earseek: :faint: I am tired, in pain, and have way too much to do before Friday, and my house is a wreck (it's not usually!), and now I'm having company tomorrow. :sad2: (Sorry, I dont mean to complain really....but I have to vent. LOL)

:grouphug: to all of you!!!

Darlene: I was posting at the same time. I'm sorry for what Stan is going through :( :( I hope this new drain works, but I can understand why you'd want to avoid all of this if it's not going to help, in the end, anyway :(

Lyn: I'm sorry that your older DS can't make it home for Matt's graduation :( Is Matt upset about it, or is he handling it ok?? I'm sure your older DS feels badly about it :(

Someone mentioned my father...and speaking of graduations... My father didn't even go to my high school graduation. LOL At the time, it didn't bother me, but looking back now, what an idiot he was.

Dori: I hope thing settle down with you. When does Devin get out of school? When is your trip to DisneyLand??

Tina: Very nice landscaping! I still have to get my bedroom remodeled before I get back out to my flowerbeds. And with the weather we've been having, it's easy to just stay inside and do things inside. We had nice weather yesterday, fortunately Craig got out on the lawn tractor and got the yard mowed. It thundered and lightned today... more for tomorrow supposedly. :umbrella:

Sue: How are things across the pond?? :)

Doreen: I hope all goes well with Marty's upcoming surgery!

Hi everyone  ,

Here's some PD to all who are sick. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I have so much to do in my house and when I saw how nice it was yesterday, my DD, DM and I went to Shady Maple for breakfast. DS decided he didn't want to leave at 7 am and stayed home to sleep. It's about a 1 1/2 hour ride but I just love the scenery etc. Figured everything else could wait until today.

Today, I got up and again it was so nice and :sunny: out that DS, DD, and I drove to Atlantic City. The traffic at 10 am was not bad. We walked on the boardwalk; went to a buffet lunch; got our funnel cake (so much for my diet - there's always tomorrow, hopefully) and just enjoyed the weather. Tonight we went to a bar-b-que at Lindsay's prom date's parents house.

According to my mother, I am running away from what needs to be done.
Maybe she's right but DS is 19 and DD is 17 and I know they won't always want to go with me and everything else will wait.

I also have some news and don't know whether it's good or bad. :sad2: ::yes:: Before Lindsay's prom, her date asked her to marry him and gave her a "pre-engagement" ring. She said yes. They are both graduating high school in June and I don't know how serious Lindsay is about this. They have known been friends with each other for over 9 years. Joking around Lindsay said they were getting married on DCL on 8/8/08. Isn't that time for another reunion cruise? I told her she should officially get engaged on 8/8/08 and married on DCL 10/10/10. Another reunion cruise? lol So afterall, maybe I am running away. :confused3

Hope everyone gets well soon. :grouphug:

Bev ::MickeyMo

Hi Bev,

We left for my niece's house in Egg Harbor Township around noon. We ran into some heavy traffic where A.C. Expressway and Black Horse Pike seperate. Once we got past that area it wasn't too bad and we made it to exit 7 on the A.C. Expressway by 1pm and was to my niece's by 1:10pm.

On the way home this evening, we drove up the Black Horse Pike and the drive home was a breeze, I'm sure it won't be that easy on Monday evening. As we were driving through Williamstown, we saw a beautiful rainbow. Darlene, did you happen to see it?

All in all we had a very nice afternoon with the family, now it's time to take Angelina to the lock-in bowling party.

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

Hey Bev :wave2: If you're running away, can I come too?? :teeth: You know, I feel the same way you do; the house can and will wait for you, but having experiences with your family while they're still "kids", won't wait. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with your mom, too! I wish my mom was still around to do things with, so please enjoy spending time with your mother, on my behalf :goodvibes

If Lindsay really isn't in love, then the excitement of the engagement will eventually wear off. I'm glad they don't have plans to get married any time soon. They're still really young. Are either of them planning on going to college? Either way, I'm glad that your daughter had a very memorable prom, and she looked gorgeous too :) princess: And you know, if they DO end up together, then you're right about another reunion cruise :earboy2: :boat:

P.S. Thanks for the call on Friday! I am sorry I missed you, I must've been outside or at the store. You know I always enjoy talking to you! :chat:

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day!!!

I picked Angelina up at 7am from her bowling party, got her home by 7:10 and she was fast asleep by 7:15 (she stayed up all night, oh to be young again) and will be sleeping most of the day, good thing we didn't have anything planned for today.

We have a Memorial Day Parade that goes right past our house every year, so in about one hour I'm going to put our dog in the other room and try to keep him as quiet as possible so he dosen't wake "Sleeping Beauty" up, LOL!!!

Oh, Andy, I am so sorry I missed the rainbow! But I will consider it God's gift that you shared it with me. Thank you.

Pulled my Groin, Broke my rib, and my computer Blew up..had to buy a new one...

Bobby, what the heck? Sending you bushels of PD :wizard: . Take care!

According to my mother, I am running away from what needs to be done.
Bev - Let me know when and where...time with my family trumps chores any day. Your mom sounds very wise, but if you know that is what you are doing then I say, "run, Bev, run!".
What an exciting time for Lindsey! Young love is so hopeful and innocent. My son married at 19 and they have a beautiful marriage. It's all relative. I'm sure Lindsey has a good head on her shoulders, you raised her well. If it all works out we will certainly be on the reunion cruise to celebrate with you! If not, Mom, lesson learned.

We finished Sandra's puppet for her book report tonight. It actually turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. Sandra Day O'Connor never looked so good!

We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for Stan. And we continue to keep all of you lifted up.

Good night,
Darlene

I just wanted to let everyone know that my Grandmother passed away on Friday. It is very sad time but it is better then if things continued as they were. I feel like I am just going to collapse into bed when this is all done. I really wish I didn't have to go back to work on Wednesday because I would just spend the day in bed. I am posting the link to her obituary - talk about a Brady Bunch - 10 kids, 28 grandchildren, 25 and counting great grandchildren. The only mistake is that they said my Grandfather died a few months after they got married and he actually died in 1965. I will catch back up with everyone after I get some sleep.

Tina - thanks for the email.

Linda
