Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

You may notice on the list below that my party size has increased from 2 to 4, that is beacuse I just got off the phone with DCL after adding Hazel and Angelina to the cruise. Hazel will have to miss her niece's baby shower on August 26th, but what a reason to miss it!!! We are still on deck 6, but we did have to change to a cabin that slept 4. I'm so happy I was able to get them on the cruise with my mom and me!!!

Denise: Thanks, Hard to believe the 50th anniversary party is a week from Saturday. We are all praying she can hang on till then. Alot going on till I leave on Friday of next week but I feel all of your good thoughts.

I just received a phone call from my brother Rob(aka: Ben Franklin) letting me know that he was just hired by the U.S. State Department to go to Russia and portray Ben Franklin for five days, with all expenses paid. Rob said he would be leaving next Sunday and is very excited about this adventure, but his wife is not too happy about him going. Rob was recommended by the gentleman in Philly that does most of the Ben Franklin appearances, but "Ralph" was too busy and decided he didn't want to take this job.

Andy: What a GREAT opportunity for your brother ! I remember seeing him on GMA and he did a very nice job as Ben Franklin. Hopefully his wife will come around about the idea of him going before he has to leave. Just saw the whole " Family " is going on the cruise again. Congrats !!! Great news ! I can now say it's " OFFICIAL " that we will be on this cruise for sure ! I may not be excited yet or planning for it but at least I know now I will be on the ship ! There are other things going on right now you wouldn't believe me if I told you. Chuck & I decided we are taking this cruise and nothing will stop us.

I wish we could meet everybody for dinner. Now I wish I had sucked it up and spent the extra money for the Radisson. I can't change it now though because I already paid for the hotel in Orlando.

Sue: It's great to "see" you again! You will be missed on this cruise, I had been looking forward to meeting a friend from across the pond. We still do plan on visiting some day, and I'd love to meet you then, if not there then maybe at Disney World some time.

Linda: Work is actually going very well. Of course I've only been there for 3 days, but if these last few days are any indication of the future, then I'm really going to like working there. I honestly couldn't have designed a better job/position for myself than what I have there. lol I start at 9am and begin by doing some paper work. The next hour and a half flies by and then it's time for break. I go into the break room with iced tea or coffee and sip it while I check the DIS boards. Then I go back to work for another hour and 45 minutes and do some computer work, then it's lunch time. I eat lunch while watching something on my video iPod, that takes only about 15 minutes, then I spend the next 15 minutes either reading or back on the computer in the break room. Then I go back to work and that's the part of the day where the woman I work with has been showing me new things to do; today I learned how to process auto loans that have been paid off. lol I do that task for about an hour and a half, then it's time for afternoon break. LOL Then, when I come back from break I only have about 45 minutes left to work, then I leave! lol I work in the corporate headquarters, in administration, and everyone in the office is *very* nice. It's a busy environment but not at all stressful. I only work 9am until 3:30pm, so the day really does fly by. And it's basically broken down into 1 1/2 hour segments which make it seem to go by even faster. Tomorrow they're having a baby shower for one of the ladies in Human Resources, so they said to be prepared to eat cake in the afternoon. lol Monday and yesterday a large bag of fancy Hershey chocolates was being passed around and even though I declined, a couple of pieces of caramel/hazelnut chocolates were left on my desk anyway. I ate them Hey, I didn't want to seem ungrateful. LOL Anyway... so far, so good! They have no problem with me taking off the days I need for this cruise, and they have a great vacation-days program where, once the 45-day orientation period is up, I'll already have a week's vacation to use in the first year of my employment there. This is very good because we already have another cruise planned for next February A 4-night Disney cruise, along with 3-4 days at Disney World. And then after next July 10th (my 1-year work anniversary), I'll be entitled to 2 weeks of vacation time. Like I said, I LIKE this job a lot, so far

Linda: If it makes you feel any better, I am not staying at the Radisson either. We are using Chuck's points to stay somewhere else. Is there anyway you can make it to the dinner?

Sue: Love your Halloween ticker ! I am sure there will be one or two people posting for a live report. Sure will miss you on this cruise. Jonathan & I watched NYC fireworks and saw Liza Minnelli sing. It made me think of you. Remember? I am trying to grow out my hair now.
