Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Is anyone going to dress in "costume" for pirate night? I apologize if you all already covered this but I have lost track over the last 6,800+ posts! pirate:

My youngest DS10 plans to dress as a pirate that night - he has a great pirate costume from a previous halloween. pirate:

Right now we are not planning to dress up for prirate night

But that could change.

Same goes for formal night

I can't believe it's only 10 weeks to go. Soon we'll be down to the single digits. Only 100 more posts till we hit 7000.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Bev

I've actually been trying to post on this thread for days now but I keep getting a "server too busy" message. I hope this one goes thru....

Terry: If you decide to plan a NE meet, we will try to make it!

My children are definitely planning on dressing up as pirates. I'm am not sure about DH and myself.

Put us down for the margarita tasting! That sounds yummy!

When we booked this cruise in Sept. 2004, I tried to get some family members to join us but they thought we were crazy to even consider planning a vacation that was 2 years away. When I tell them how much the same category has gone up since then....they don't think we are so nutty now!

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Just curious - what does your family plan to wear for formal night? My family is far, far from formal - but we felt obligated to wear suits/dress to formal night. We bought 3 suits before our last cruise. Now DH has lost a ton of weight and DS11 has grown, so I have to replace both their suits, when they probably will not wear them again, which happened last time. I would like to avoid that if possible.

I highly doubt I will do anything beyond a bandana but it really can be an interesting photo opportunity for people. Victoria will dress up. It's such a fun evening!

Well I might wear a sports coat and tie, but I need to but new clothes so time will tell, But both DW and I have lost weight and not into dressing up when we are on vacation. Its possible we just may do topsiders or pizza up top.

If we find a cute outfit for caitlin for pirate night then she might dress up that night

Hi Guys,

Just saw "DING" fares for Southwest for travel 8/1 through 8/31 at $44.00 each way good until 6pm central time today. I decided to book a flight for myself flying down 8/17 and flying home home 8/22. I think I might go to Grills on Saturday 8/19 and capture some pics of the Magic as you guys sailaway!!! :goodvibes

I would definitely not fret over formal evening attire. Honest! Dress up if you want to, but as soon as everyone is seated I can't see what the heck they are wearing anyway. As long as you aren't in jeans/shorts/t-shirts, I think you would feel comfortable in the dining room. Why skip the dining room? If you'd wear it to the office for an important meeting, you're set for formal night.

There's lots of debate on this but I am explaining because I really spent too much time worrying about formal night and realized how silly it was come the evening.

There were a lot of men in ties and coats, and women with all sorts of black dresses who added accessories. The men in tuxedos look fabulous but they do not outnumber the men who are not wearing tuxes.

I love seeing all the little girls in their princess costumes on formal evening. :goodvibes

OK. I must have been away or asleep. I guess I missed it when you wrote that wouldn't be on the 08/19 cruise.

BTW...since I live in your state I am curious what airport SW flies out of for $44. My guess is AC.

Buddy Bear: Southwest flies out of Philadelphia. I just changed my son's friends ticket and saved $100 :cool1:

I wasn't planning on making anymore trips to Florida this summer, but when I saw those DING fares this afternoon I just decided to make a trip afterall. Angelina didn't want to go, so she and Hazel will be staying home, besides Hazel just started a new job and probably couldn't get off anyhow.

Hey Bev, do you still have any rooms at the Radisson for Friday night left?

Jeff, the only time we fly out of AC (one hour away) is when we fly Spirit. When flying Southwest, or other airlines, we do fly out of Philly since we are only 15 minutes from the Philly Airport.

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to all of you Crusin' Castaways. This is the 3rd DCL cruise for myself, DH, DD16 & DS14. We got our first taste of Disney Cruising in Dec. 2001 with a 4-night trip on the Wonder. Our second time out, we spent 7 nights in August 2004 on the Western Magic. So here we are again, just 10 short weeks away from another sailing and I can't wait!

I'm looking forward to meeting many of you. I'm hoping to make the 3pm sail away party and maybe a couple of the poolside gatherings (do we have a time for those yet?). I've got a few excursions in the planning stages (Dave & Ivan in Costa Maya, Playa Mia in Cozumel and maybe the Wild Side for the teens at CC).

You're obviously a very talkative bunch - nearly 7000 posts! I'm going to have to get busy and start reading so that I can get to know all of you before we set sail. It's going to be a great time!

Andy - so glad you'll be flying down to Florida. Yes, I am still holding rooms at the Radisson for anyone that needs them. Just let me know.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Bev

I am curious which August 2004? We were on the 08/21 and many on this thread were on the following cruise the 08/28.

I would have to assume either the 14th or 28th since they were the westerns that year.

It was the 8/14 Western. There was a pretty large group of DISers on that cruise as well. The weather was very good, nothing like what it was like in '05. We're hoping for a repeat of '04 this summer.

I'm glad that Andy is going to make it to Florida to see us off. I was looking forward to meeting him on this cruise but maybe we'll cross paths another time in another place (he only lives "across the bridge" from us).

I'm only up to page 12 so far. Still reading posts from October '04. Hard to believe that there are people more obsessed with planning their vacations than I am. Friends and family thought that I was nuts for booking back in March '05! It's nice to see that I have company!

RobinMarie & Aurora's Mom - thanks for the feedback. I think we may go with the 11am and keep our fingers crossed that the little one likes the club as much as he like his day school. At least we'll have some time to let him settle in, just in case - and it's not like we'll be that far away!

10 weeks out! I'm ready to bag in all here and head down there now, but I don't think they'd let me on the ship quite yet......

So, obviously I should back up and read all of the pages, but are there any on-board meets brewing at this point?
