Those of you in the Philadelpia area, if you happen to see today's (Saturday 10/29) Morning Edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer, you will see on the front page several different photos of Ben Franklin. The man on the far right is my younger half-brother Rob Carroll. Rob is a colonial tour guide in Philly, and has recently started portraying Ben Franklin from the encouragement of another Ben Franklin. Rob called me about an hour ago and told me he was on the front cover, of course I had to go right out a buy a copy of the newspaper!!!

(correction): I just noticed on the front page, it states it is the "The Sunday Inquirer October 30, 2005" I usually don't get this newspaper, so I took it for granted it was Saturday's paper.

BTW, I had to take Hazel to the doc yesterday. Hazel went running into the bedroom to answer the phone and banged her right pinky toe on the end of our bed. Her toe swelled up and started turning purple. Our family doc doesn't think it is broken, but he doesn't want to take the chance of a hairline break, so I am taking Hazel to have the right foot x-rayed. This happened on the same day that my soon to be 3 year old great-niece fell off her bed and broke her arm in two places. We've had some excitement in the family the past few days.

I also had my last PT session scheduled for yesterday but had to cancel so I could get Hazel to the doc.

Some :wizard: is what we need!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget to turn your clocks "back" one hour before going to bed tonight!!!

Andy - thanks for the reminder about changing our clocks. I'm up early anyway, and didn't change my watch, so it's even earlier than I thougt. I do get the Philadelphia Inquirer and the picture is neat. Do you want another copy of it? I can mail it to you.

Hope everyone has a great day. It looks :sunny: like it's going to be a nice one.

Bev--could you please send me a copy of the front page and the story on page A-10, I would like to be able to send a copy to my mom in Florida. I tried scanning it into my computer, but it didn't turn out very well.

A little funny story to share about Rob. Rob is also a musician, and a very good one at that. I had started taking clarinet lessons in 6th grade, and continued until my freshman year in high school. Rob is seven years younger than me. One day, I came home from school (9th grade) and Rob (age 8 at the time) asked if he could try playing my clarinet. Well, I placed a new reed on the mouth piece and Rob starting tooting on the clarinet. He heard a song playing on the radio and starting playing along with the song, it was right then and there, that I gave him my clarinet. I never touched the thing again. Rob can pick up just about any instrument there is and start playing it, or he will teach himself to play it. That boy has got an ear for music. I told him, if he ever becomes rich and famous, to remember who gave him his first instrument, LOL!!! I think he did me one better though, a few years ago, after his wife gave birth to their son, Rob called me and told me they named him Andrew. I had no idea that's the name they were going to give their baby if it was a boy. I was deeply touched and honored.

Boy, it sure has been quiet around here lately.

Just dropping in to say that after 3 and 1/2 months the doc has finally given his OK for me to return to work. My first day back will be next Monday November 7th, and my dear wife is tickled about this!!! :rotfl:

I wish I could share her joy, but alas, all good things must come to an end!!! :rotfl2:

I think when the time comes for me to retire, I will be one of those people that adjust to it quite well. I told Hazel this afternoon, "In a little over four years, you will have me home 24/7/365."

This was her reply----- :scared1:

:rotfl2: Thanks I needed a good chuckle!

Andy,

That was a good halloween trick

Enjoy your last week of freedom, before returning to the grind of us working souls.

Hazel's toe is coming along nicely, the color is almost back to normal and the swelling has come down quite a bit. We are still waiting to hear the results of the x-rays that were taken yesterday afternoon. Hazel went to her Ladies Bible Study group this morning, so all is right with the world.

A funny thing about me returning to w*rk next week, I go in Monday, then have Tuesday "off" :teeth: for Election Day!!! It's great working for the government, well, most of the time anyway!!! ;)

Andy...good luck on the return to work...don't overdo it.

Gorgeous weather here today and for the rest of the week!! Indian (or to be politically correct...Native American) summer!!

When DH lost his job 15 months ago and was home with time on his hands, he decided that he should call me whenever the mood struck him...to tell me the mail came....to call me back when he opened it, etc. Drove me crazy and I finally yelled in the phone (after about the 12th phone call) that he should remember that I need a job now and if he didn't stop bugging me, I would be out of one!!! We couldn't be home together 24/7 or you would be reading about one of us in the paper and it wouldn't be good!!

Almost sounds like when I'm at work and Hazel calls me 12 times a day on my cell phone. It's a wonder I get the correct meter readings entered in the meter books sometimes, LOL!!! :rotfl:

Ohhhhhhhhhh, the days before cell phones, what bliss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

Andy - be careful when you go back to work. Need you fine for the cruise.

Okay, the other night DS Harley asked me if he has to go on our cruise. He'll be 20 and thinks he will be bored. DCL doesn't have a casino and he loves to play basketball but if it too windy, he can't play. He thinks he'll be the only "old" one there and have nothing to do. I love Disney so I could never be bored at any age. To me, Disney is ageless. Of course, I want Harley to come with us, but I WONDER how many other older children will be there.

What would you do? :confused3

Bev ::MickeyMo

Here's what I would do if I was in your position. If Angelina, at the age of 20, didn't want to cruise with us, I would say have fun at home kiddo, because your parents are still going. Heck, at age 20, I was already married!!!

At seventeen(almost 18),
I had just finshed High School, I was home two weeks alone while my folks went to Alabama,I had to work and couldnt get the time off.

Craig will be on the cruise and he'll be almost 18 1/2 at that time. As you know, John and I just went to WDW without the kids. We came back and found the house in 1 piece, having left Craig home to hold down the fort. So I'm sure Harley will be fine at home, if you and he decide that he won't be on the cruise. By the way, Craig likes cruising. He's not that much into Disney (especially at his age now), but he likes cruising, so that's why he's looking forward to next year's cruise.

And by the way, we're back from WDW and had an excellent time! :sunny: Nothing like swimming in the Polynesian volcano pool while knowing it was snowing back home!!! :earboy2:

We did the Segway Tour in Epcot again, enjoyed the Food & Wine Festival, had many great meals including the night we met a group of DISers at 'Ohana, and had a great time seeing some new attractions and also our old favorites :flower:

How are all of you doing? :)
