Hi Y'all!

Doreen - hoped you enjoyed some southern hospitality down here in Va Beach; glad we could arrange the lovely weather.

I, on the other hand, have been in Orlando/Tampa all week on business. I even sneaked my pins along in case I could trade at the airport Disney store. Alas, it was all work and no play. There should be a law against that!

Last night I dreamed about choosing a lounge by the Goofy Pool...the dreams have begun! Cripes, though, I booked this trip over a year ago and still haven't made front/back hotel or transportation arrangements - Yikes!

TTFN! :sunny:

Woo-Hoo!!! 40 weeks to go!!!

I owe, I owe, so off to work I go!!! Gotta finish paying off this cruise.

Sorry I haven't been around much this week, but I haven't been online all that much with just getting back to work.

Later!!!!!!!!!

To all the Veterans and Servicemen/women out there - thank you for serving your country and keeping us safe. Today is the day we honor you, although everyday should be. Thank you.

Bev

Greetings. I am amazed that there will be so many disers on this ship.

We just booked it about a week ago and this will be our first cruise ever!!!!

I booked it through Costco Travel and was told today that the ship is almost sold out. I was trying to move to deck 2 from deck 1 and there is no availability. The only category that will fit the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) with availability will be category 5!!!

It seems that many people booked this cruise back in 2004. I am wondering how much the price has gone up. It costs me about $4,500 for this cruise thru Costco.

What is the chance of getting a different cabin at this point or this might be it.

So many questions.....

Thanks for any responses you can provide. :sunny:

Welcome Aboard lat,

I'll try and answer what I can. I booked the August 2006 cruise during our cruise this past January. If I were to book the same cruise today, it would cost me an extra $1600.00 from what I paid in January. When I first booked this cruise for the three of us we had a cabin on deck 2, when my mom decided she would join us, and we added her to our ressie, our cabin was changed to deck 1. We had to change cabins because the cabin on deck 2 only slept three people.

I don't know what part of NJ you are from, but several of us are getting together for brunch at the Red Lion Diner on November 25 at 11am. If you click on the link about the Red Lion Diner in my signature, there is a little more info there about where the diner is located, feel free to join us if you like.

Andy

08/19/2006 7-Night Cruise to Costa Maya Category 06 : Deluxe Stateroom w/ Verandah $ 6,572.76

08/19/2006 7-Night Cruise to Costa Maya Category 11 : Standard Inside Stateroom $ 5,172.76

Andy,

Thanks so much for the info. I would love to meet some Diser, but I need to work that day. It is not a holiday for me :( I tell people I am planning a cruise for August 2006 and people think I am nuts :) and know that I have so many companies here.

That is funny that Disney Cruise is still taking reservation for these categories. I wonder if it is because maybe Costco only has access to certain rooms.

As far as the ports, if we decide not to do any excursions and just stay on the ship, what are the services, food, or activities offered?

Thanks again!!!

Hi Lat!
I too booked this cruise thru Costco (originally; I've since rebooked for reasons not important here)when the rates came out (as did most people here!) - I think that was August or Sept, 2004???!!! Just a few months before taking my first DCL cruise last Nov!

My family didn't spend too much time in port. It was great having the ship "all to ourselves". My kids loved playing in the pools, which are normally very crowded on "at sea" days. I didn't notice a difference in lunch offerings (breakfast and dinner were the same as at sea days). However, I don't think they offer Palo brunch on port days.

On one port day, our excursion had been cancelled. No problem, I knew everything that was available at St Maarten thanks to these boards, and we soon were spending a great afternoon at the beach!

The clubs/lab are also open on port days. Check out www. castaway . com for recent Navigators to see what is offered on those days.

Welcome Aboard!

Thanks for the replies and the welcome :)

We may have to cancel the 7 nights and go for the 4 nights because now my brother and his family may be coming and I am paying for it. It is better if we can all go but just for a shorter cruise.

I am booked on both the 4 nights and 7 nights for this week and just waiting for everyone's confirmation.

You guys are great!!!! :sunny:

Best of luck with whatever decision you make lat. Sorry I didn't get to reply earlier, but I wasn't able to get on the boards much the past few days. I see Jen helped out with the port days question!!!

When we stopped at Nassau this past January my DW and I didn't get off the ship because DW was feeling a bit under the weather. We still managed to have a nice day onboard, had lunch at Topsiders, saw a movie, then DW went back to the cabin to rest while I went to the Internet Cafe for a little while.

Hey, for those meeting on the 25th, we are down to just single digits until our brunch meet!!! See y'all soon!!! :goodvibes

Hey everyone, I think the TAG FAIRY did a drive by last night... Congrats Tenor!!!!!
