I bought one of those things you wrap around your neck, the only problem is it only last about 30 minutes in this heat. I just make sure I keep lots of water in my cooler. I go through about 4 bottles of water each day.

I'll tell you one thing, it sure is nice being home for lunch in the A.C.

Wow! It must have cooled down about 20degrees. Going to be a much better night for sleeping. Im actually shutting windows instead of turning on A/C!

Dave's car window cost $290! It was a burned out motor. I hope we dont have too many of these big unexpected bills. It may start cutting into the cruise - ack. "Dave 1 more big expense and we cancel the verandah". "Ok then Im not going!"

Good Morning Everyone!!!

A certain kitten in our house decided I should be up early this morning, so she woke me up a little earlier than I am used to getting up for work, LOL!!! It appears a certain teenage DD, didn't leave enough food in the kitten's bowl for overnight, and this said kitten started biting my toes at 4:30 because she was hungry and wanted some food.

Now that I'm awake, I'm up for the day, so I thought I'd wish everyone a happy Wednesday!!!

Good morning everyone - 1 more wk till schools out!

Call in the middle of the night from my younger brother (well it felt like the middle of the night! The phonecall woke me up at 1030pm. You know how scared you get w/those nighttime phonecalls)
He's an alcoholic, living w/my mother. Mom's been talking to me about him for the past 6mos or so. Well last night it was my turn. "Im gay (not as far as I know), fat, etc. I want a house and a dog". "well we all want things but need to work for them. Do you know you woke me up?" he hung up
talked to DH and I called the police. (I live 90mins away). Told police I was calling as a concerned daughter and just wanted to make sure Mom was ok.
Havent heard from either yet. How far can this go? Cant we make him go for treatment?

Hi everyone:

Just checking in to let you all know that the biopsy procedure is overwith, and I'm feeling swelled and sore, but otherwise ok I have to wait until a week from tomorrow, when I go back to see the surgeon, to find out the results.

They took some ultrasound pictures before they started, and found a third suspicious lump that had "compartments". (I initially thought it was only 2). The doctor told me they had to be a bit more invasive than usual, in order to make sure they got all of it. I said just do whatever it takes to get it all.

Doreen: How is Marty doing?

Bev: I know you still have your hospital visit this Friday, I've been thinking of you.

Tina: I've been thinking of you too, I hope you get some real answers soon.

Best wishes to all of you & your family members that are having health issues right now. I know how scary it can be. It's a good thing you're all getting this over with now so you can be healthy for next year!

My house is 66 right now & I had the A/C on 2 days ago which only managed to cool the downstairs to 75. I absolutely refuse to put the heat on!

I told you all we rescheduled our Disney trip but I forgot we also rescheduled my DH's jury duty & we got the card yesterday saying he has to appear on 8/29 at 8:30...we don't get home till 10:30 at night! It also says we can't change it again by law. Oh no! What do we do now???

Barb: How old is your brother? Maybe your Mom can put him in treatment. I can't imagine how scary it is for you & your family to go through this. Hope he doesn't hurt himself or somebody else.

Terry: Sorry your sore. Hope you feel better soon. On the bright side glad your getting this taken care of now instead of later. Think VACATION soon.

Diane: I got a summons for Jury duty a couple of weeks ago. One of the days would have been on the day I had an appointment with my specialist. Mind you I only had this appt. set up over a month before. On my card it said you could only have one excuse that's it !!! With my luck I would have gotten another when it was time for cruise. I decided to just ride it out and it turns out they didn't need me and it counts for me being served. I am good for another 4 years. I would have DH call anyway and explain the situation and see what they say. It can't hurt to try. Good luck and let us know what happens.

I know I have my appointment for Monday...............I just can't wait anymore. I just called doctor's office to see if I can find out results. They told me they would have a nurse call me. I will be waiting by the phone in hopes they will tell me something so I don't have to wait till Monday.

My younger brother will be 41 in Aug. Spoke to my mother after I got back to work after a meeting this morn.
Cops went to their door and told them a concerned relative called them. Took brother by ambulance to the hosp where they kept him until 830 this morn. Told him to go back for daytime treatment at the hosp for the next few wks. Hey hopefully its a start. He's never been to an AA meeting as far as I know.

Andy: Your weather is sounding lovley, we had a beautiful weekend over here, but today it has been raining all day and quite chilly.Keep cool my friend.

Ed: You explained the day at Disney exactley how we do it, parks early, then back to the hotel in the afternoon for a swim and nap, then back to the parks in the evening for the fireworks. I could'nt imagine spending the whole day in the parks in that heat and humidity without a break.

Barb: I do hope your brother gets the help he needs. I cant believe all your kids finish school in a weeks time, Vicki has only just gone back this week after half term and does'nt break up for summer holidays until the middle of July.

Tina: My Dear Neighbour, I hope they have been able to give you some results today, you have waited so long for this and I know how much you are worried. You are always in my thoughts and prayers, heres loads of pixie dust for you.

Diane: I do hope your husband is able to sort out his jury service, you know I am 43 and have never been called up. Would love to give it a go.

To all my other dis friends and I hope you are all well.

Nothing much to report from across the pond, I paid my August holiday off in full yesterday, now I am just waiting for those tickets to fall through the letterbox. Vicki is having a very hard week in school this week as she has started the first course of her mock exams in readiness for her GCSE's next May. Please keep your fingers crossed for her, I am sure if there was a mock exam in Drumming she would get top of the class, and if there was one in terrible headaches caused by excessive drumming I would get top of the class.

Sue: Congrats on paying your August trip off. Isn't that a great feeling?

I called the doctor's office again yes I am a pain. The nurse calls me up and doesn't really want to tell me anything because that's why I have an appointment for Monday. She says it's the "process" I tell her I am keeping my appointment no matter what I just need to know results because I have waited so long. So here is what she told me............My bloodwork came back fine. My liver, spleen ect. is fine. o.k great it's all in my head. Now I don't want to give TMI if you know what I mean but she says the Cats Scan showed a cyst on the lower part of my kidney. Got the impression from her it's no big deal. She says doctor will go over it with me. Now here is the kicker !!! The ex-ray and Cats Scan Clearly ( Her Words) shows %$^& in my colon. They gave me prescriptions to flush my system out before tests and I took them. Couldn't leave the bathroom. I have some type of blockage or something again she says doctor will go over everything with me. That would explain the pain and why I am swollen. So I will wait till Monday to get more answers. At that age I don't think your Mom can force him into treatment. I could be wrong though. Hopefully he will stick with the daytime treatment. Your right it's a start.

That's what I just realized yesterday. It's not like we can change the date either. I already put down a non-refundable deposit for the B&B in the Catskills and the Chalet in Gatlinburg is paid for.

What a very busy busy week I have had. Taking care of MARTY, the kids the dogs , the house.. oh yeah and that few minutes left of the day .. ME!! I am so TIRED!!

Lynn a few pages back, I had to laugh,,, you asked me how was STANS operation.. I thought great.. Last yr I was married to MITCH.. now I am married to STAN.. Where does MARTY come in>>> That is when we started calling the all the MEN "BOB"... its safer.... OMG I laughed so hard when I read it... But TINA?? are you saying you are just "FOS" (sorry I had to say it)...Trust me.. i am having my share of health issues too.. but I wont get into them.. and I cant let them get me, I am too busy to let them get me down.

NEW HOLIDAY I am not sure what state your BROTHER lives in. but you can get a "2PC' doctor commitment to a PSYCH hospital for 2 weeks.. As long as 2 doctors agee that he needs to be committed. Does he have a Psychatrist?
