Calling all 10/12/02 Magic Cruisers!!

Ok, so it's still 7 months away, but it's never too early to start !

Last year, it was a thread like this that led to a great group of people coming together and having a great time on the 10/13/01 cruise.... so let's do that again!!

We (Myself, DW, DS-12, DD-10) will be taking our 2nd Disney Magic cruise, this time on the western itinerary. Last year's cruise was the vacation of a lifetime, and we intend to do it even better this year!! That's why I want to get started with meeting all our new DIS friends!

So, everyone 'sign on' and introduce yourself to Beano!!

We will be spending a week at WDW before the cruise (it'll be our 3rd trip there). We're staying at CBR again.

We haven't made any excursion plans yet for the cruise - probably just shopping in Cozumel, maybe snorkelling in Cayman.
I have never been to Key West so I don't know anything about it.
I think we are going to parasail on Castaway Cay this year.

I'm looking forward to keeping this thread alive for the next 7 months. If this will be your first Disney cruise, I'd love to try and answer some of your questions for you. If you're a veteran cruiser, let's share our tips and tricks with each other.

OH MY GOSH!!!!! IT"S BEANO! I was so SURPRISED/SHOCKED when I saw your name and your own thread! I wish I was on the 10-12-02 cruise but I won't be going until 5-10-03. I think Denine (the back-to-back babe or AKA inkkognito-2) already started a
10-12 thread. Glad to hear from you!
P.S. Going to CBR this May for 1st time. Any tips?

Oops, sorry Denine! I didn't know you'd started a 10/12 thread. I looked for one but didn't find any, so I started this one. I did see your 10/19 thread however... back to back cruises huh? COOL!

legs22, I don't even know where to start with tips on CBR! I know that resort inside and out, and it is our favorite!

Stay in Trinidad North 32 or 33, second floor. Alternatively, stay in Martinique 26. Stay AWAY from Barbados and Trinidad South. They are too far away from the food court! WAAAAY too far.
If you're in Trinidad North or Martinique, you can zip down there anytime you need something, but if you're way out in Barbados or Trinidad South, you'll think twice before making that long walk!
Trinidad North is by far our favorite building, but beware of Trinidad North #31, as it is a smoking building You want 32 or 33.

I could go on and on about CBR. legs, send me an email and I can answer all your questions! You'll love the resort, and DD will love the food court and the pools! (You ARE taking her right??)

Well, I'm glad we'll get to see Denine on the cruise... anyone else??

Ooooo how I wish we could join you - 10/12/02 will be our 16th wedding anniversary. I will be thinking of all of you! We probably won't be able to afford another until 2003 or 2004!

Toast our anniversary with some Mai Tais at the Bon Voyage party!!

hi Beano.....I just posted to the original thread of Denine's so it should be somewhere at the top again!

great to see you have a DS aged 12, ours will have his 13th birthday on our Grand Cayman day! but he has already decided he would rather spend time in the Oceaners Lab than the Common grounds....theres a world of difference between being just 13 and 17 isn't there?

3cheers - That is SO true! Last year, my DS (11 at the time) was in Common Grounds for a while with the Oceaneer's group, and he was bored. He wanted to play on the "PlayStation" but they were dominated by the teenagers. He much preferred the lab, and actually, preferred the pool more than the lab!

His strategy:
Go on the 'Mickey Slide' a few hundred times, have some pizza, go in the pool for a while, have some ice cream...

We haven't told our kids about the cruise yet, but I know they will go ballistic when they find out. They would love to have other "DIS friends" to goof off with...
