I would be in need of assistance of the easiest way from either: DD or ASMo(most likely) to HRH. We will be driving this trip about 12:30 in the afternoon on Friday, Feb. 2nd. I know there are a few "homies" out there that can give me the best :goodvibes advice....... TIA:wave2:

Bumping for ya cause I just don't know the answer!

How about mapquest? We have driven lots of times from WDW to USO but we have a Nav system to rely on, so I can't remember the exact road. I know you get on I-4 east and then follow the signs to USO and it seems its something like Kirkman road????
Sorry, I am not more help.

Just get on I-4 east and follow the signs for the Universal exit. A lot of the locals use Turkey Lake (back road) but it's a little more complicated to get to. Rather than get lost, I'd suggest just using I-4 as the Turkey lake road is only about 5 minutes shorter but a hassle if you get lost.

Fan2CSkr--thanks for the bump :goodvibes
phamton--I was thinking that was the way, but I remember the Turkey Lake road being mentioned before (and it wouldn't be pretty if we got lost!)...so, we'll just take the interstate....I can't see it being too crowded...at least I hope :goodvibes :ssst: btw phamton....cya at the park??

You need the address of each resort, then you can try a couple map web sites.

All Star Resorts
1991 W Buena Vista Drive
Orlando FL 32830

HRH
5800 Universal Blvd
Orlando FL 32819

I've done it many times. As you leave ASMo you'll go thru a guard gate. You'll come to a stop light with a McDonalds on the right side, get in the left lane, make the left and the road curves around an overpass. Stay in the right lane and you'll see signs leading to I-4, this is the main exit of Disney. Follow the signs that lead to I-4 east towards Orlando. Take that to the Universal Blvd exit, and make a left at the stop light. From there you follow the signs to the HRH.

hey "homies".......

I forgot to ask where the supermarket is?? Might stop for a couple of things. Last year we had a Hummerzine Limo and it stopped at a Publix in a shopping center.... any stores along the way?? TIA :wave2:

you are full of questions now aren't you homie???

let me check my journal.
i did a stop w/ the car service the last two years that was close to universal.
good prices at a publix and a liquer store across from it in the strip mall parking lot.

if i can't find the address, call up sunray car service and ask bob or ray the address of the place they stop.
i went with them last time and they gave a free 30 minute grocery stop.

i guess you will need the number for them now, eh.....

I am  , but we are leaving in a week  (literally be in the air next Wed. morning) and I just happened to think of it. I appreciate all the help... We normally don't drive ourselves around (get towncar/limo or DBIL to drive us around :rotfl: ) Thanks for the help...1 week and countin'.... :yay:

Robvia has the directions to the Publix on his website. It is probably the best and easiest place to go.

There is also a super K-mart on Turkey Lake (right down the street from Edwin Watts) about 5 minutes from Universal. We tend to always go to the Super Walmart. I could drive there from the Portofino, but I have no idea what the names of the streets are. I know we go down Turkey Lake and then turn right at Sand something (I think) and then just go straight. It takes about 20 minutes. We just went to WalMart.com and said search for a store.

However, we learned NEVER to go in the evenings. We did that once in November and it literally took us over 45 minutes just to get through the check-out lines. I think everybody in Orlando was there after work!
