.........and they are pretty much booked...........unless you want a site for pop ups or tents with just water and electric. Argggggggg.........I was told to call back in a few months and maybe there would be more sites available due to cancellations, etc. I also spoke with grand gatherings and they said the same thing. VeRY Frustrated at the moment.....Sorry, just venting. Not to mention, that when I asked how much the sites would be, a full hook up site was 97.00........no where in the web does it say it costs that much!!!! Maybe I just got a young fresh cm who is still in training and is giving out wrong information.?!?!?!?!?!?! Sorry, just venting.

It's hard to believe that FW is full 14 months out. Is there really that many people who know there vactaion/camping dates that early?

This scenario seems to be playing out for so many trying to reserve in '09. I can't believe it. We were able to get the week we wanted 4/09 when I called a month ago or so, but we want to add another stay (the second week of June) and I'm afraid to call and hear they're booked. I don't usually reserve more than a few months in advance and use the internet so I'm wondering if this is usual (not being able to get accomodations so far in advance at the Fort...what's been your experience group?)
Sorry for you mrsscooter-I guess you'll be stuck calling back until you get the dates. :(

Warning complaint upcoming: Plus when I called for April, 2009 dates I had to take the most expensive site (what is it premium or preferred I can't remember?) when I wouldn't mind having booked the less expensive site without cable. Who has time for tv LOL.

The CM I spoke with yesterday said that, because of the renovations of the campsites, the 2009 sites are not opening up for reservations as quickly as the other resorts. Keep trying. They are not full in 10/09 already -- they just haven't released all of the sites yet. :)

I am glad to here that I still may have a chance. LOL My husband said the same thing, so I just have to keep calling and hope that more sites open. I wonder though, If I would have better luck going through a travel agent....just curious. Thanks again Rhonda

I know its a little more per site, but we have small children and a tv comes in handy every now and then. Not to mention the news for the weather, local events, etc. I guess its just a matter of preference.

By the end of 2008, ALL sites will have cable, even the partial hookups. The only thing missing from the partial hookup sites will be sewer.

We are facing the same thing. We can only get 7 of the 9 nights we want for Nov '09 on two separate reservations (two deposits!). And this is after making dozens of phone calls and being told several different stories. Plus we have to go through the whole who is in your party routine and how many times have you stayed with us crap. ARRRGGGGHHH!!

What Rhonda said makes sense because we know some sites are available and have been reserved but obviously all of them can't be at this point.

Plus, we had to take premium as well at $110 per night. We are rethinking when I can book Port Orleans at $163 per night for this Thanksgiving (and it is fully available 4 months out). Factor in the gas savings alone not to mention the other costs of the RV itself (a major reason we bought it was for FW), it is looking cheaper to stay in hotel.

Our Rv days at the Fort are likely numbered!

A lot of times the weekends will be booked by the "locals" but the weekdays will be open.

Yes, camping at the Fort can be very expensive, especially if you are there during "Peak" season ... we have reservations for March 2009 which I booked many months ago. The only way to cut our costs is to call as soon as the AAA rates come out and hope I can apply them.

I have Fri to Wed and Fri to Sun. It is Wed and Thur I need.

I am sorry, 110 for a piece of dirt is so much that it shocks the conscience of this regular. I am really not sure it is worth it any more for this regular that loves the Fort. I am used to paying holiday prices and this one has just gone too far this time. I guess if I wasn't dealing with the bozo's in reservations (not so much the individual on the phone but the system), it wouldn't hurt so bad.

Also, in a vain effort to keep the weekends only being booked up, they often won't show availability for the weekend only. I have more luck booking 7 - 10 days starting on a Wednesday, then cancel the days I don't need.

This doesn't surprise me. I am sure you've seen my post that I have been calling to try and get the Thanksgiving week. :confused3 I am still short one night the 28th and I have called every day, three times a day for the past couple of days waiting for them to finally allow me to book it. As I don't believe that day has been added into the system yet, even though they are now booking htl rooms through Dec.2nd! UGH! I think I am paying $110 with tax right now for a preferred site and the rate will be more by the time the actually put 2009 rates in the system. It's crazy. I couldn't even get in that week this year and I had called to try and get it in Dec.07 of last year.

Anyway, PM me as I have some dates at a Premium site that I can let go of. I do want to keep the halloween weekend though, but if you need anything other dates than that weekend I can cancel some of my dates. Just PM me and I'll let you know when I cancel them, so you should be able to call and hopefully grab them. I am sure that too is like winning a radio contest, but for now it maybe your best bet. Sorry they won't let me just change it into your name.

:surfweb: Ok, so after having a slight panic attack (ok, a big one) about not being able to go over Halloween and take the kids trick r treating at the fort, etc. etc. I was able to make resservations for 10/11 to 10/23 instead, although at a Premium site at 110.25 (choke choke choke) BUT the cm told me to try calling back. So, I paid my deposit, but I am hoping and praying to get the weeks that I want. Now I just need to convince my husband that its better to stay at the fort for that price, versus staying at the Shades of Green for the same price. I have always wanted to camp at disney especially with the kids and I feel like one of those suckers who is willing to pay the price no matter what. (griping and complaining all the way of course.....lol) Wish me luck.........

Ok, so after a few weeks of nail biting, we tried calling back and................... voila!!! They had our first choice weeks......October 26 to November 6!! They even had 8 preferred sites available in the 1400 loop!!! Wooohoooo!!!!! So, now its off to Christmas Tree Shops in the next few weeks to stock up on halloween decorations for our site because you know there will be slim pickins in October!! Now that our trip has officially been booked and we have our GG # I can now say....."We're going to Disney World....We're going to Disney World" wooooohoooo!!!!

Sorry guys, I am a bit excited!!!!!! We only have 433days!!!

Congratulations!! I must say I am shocked that they were booked 460 some-odd days out. I guess it is really becoming necessary to be on the phone, 7 am, 499 days in advance to get what you want. Glad your perseverance paid off.
