Called for my code last night

I have been checking the boards here for ideas and tips for our upcoming trip to the GF in March. I was so excited when I saw people were getting discounts so I decided to call a few times to check and see if I had a pin code.

First time I called the CM was pretty rude and just said NO. Last night I called and I was told again NO pin code. I asked if there was any reason why I would not get a code? I was a little frustrated since DH and I took the boys to the GF twice last year and paid full price (sure would be nice to get SOME kind of discount for our next trip). She did say that i probably did not get the code b/c there was another person staying in our room with a different last name. My family is meeting us there and my nephew wanted to stay in our room so he could have a sleep over with my kids. That is just crazy. I was getting a little frustrated with the whole thing. She told me that I should talk to a Guest Services person.

I waited on hold and talked to Guest Services. He nicely explained that not everyone gets a code and he agreed that they should reward those who frequent the parks. Then he said he would check for me on giving me the AAA rate on concierges (that is what i wanted to upgrade my family too). He claimed to be looking and then said there were not rooms available during that time (3/2 - 3/5). He also apologized for what the CM told me - he said there was no truth for having different names in the reservations.

So no code and I really feel like giving up! THey are really never that friendly.

My sister stayed in my room August 2006 and she has a different last name. I too have been waiting for a code. I cannot imagine that would be the cause of not receiving a code, but it certainly is interesting....

That cannot be true. I've received a code before and my kids don't even have the same last name as me!!! I keep checking though because I sure would like to get another 40% one!

Ive given up too. LOL For one, every time I call, it takes like 20 mins to get through the prompts and hold time...then I have to give the exact same information to the CM (another 10 mins) and then I say, I was calling to see if I have a pin by chance....they say "No" and we hang up. Very frustrating, but I will just spend my money elsewhere for the next several years. Our little one wont know what she is missing until she is 5 anyways. LOL

When you say you are calling to check for codes, which number do you call? Do you already need a reservation to check or a code, or can I see if there is one available even before I book?
Sorry for the newby questions-I've never heard that special codes were available.

In all the years that we have been travelling to Disney, we have never ever received a code via e-mail, snail mail, etc.

Neither have I. We go to Disney at least 3-4x a year. This is the FIRST trip I am making w/o finding some kind of code on the web. It hurts!! We are meeting friends from VA and we don't have the flexibility to cancel. I do wish Disney would reward frequent travelers more!

You don't need a reservation to check for codes or pins. Be flexible when looking!

Good luck

I called a couple of weeks ago and got an awesome CM! She said there was no pin attached to my name or my husband's. I kept chatting with her and then asked about the 40% code that so many people are getting. She said she would see what she could do and put me on hold. She came back a couple of minutes later and VOILA! I got the 40% :thumbsup2 Unfortunately, since I'm a teacher and my husband has fixed vacation weeks, I wasn't able to be flexible enough and I couldn't use it. :rotfl2: Oh well, what can you do???? I settled for the AAA discount and am just so grateful that we get to go again!!

We have stayed at WDW several times in the last four years. We just called this evening and asked them to look under both my husband and my names and there were no discount codes there. That sucks.:sad2: The lady did up date my husbands email address and say they had been sending out a lot of them over the last couple of weeks...any figure from 20% to 40%, so to watch our mail. I'm not counting on it....if it weren't for bad luck we wouldn't have any at all :scared1:
