I just called Disney at1-407-939-6244 ( # on their official web-site). After first being told FOTLK was not on the rehab list, the woman put me on hold to make a call. She then came back and said it would be down from Aug 25. I asked if it wasn't the 24th because that is the date that I have seen on the threads. She said no, the 25th. Hope this helps with planning for everyone coming in on that weekend.

Does that stand for Festival of the Lion King - the one in Animal Kingdom?

So that will be closed as of 8/25? I have a trip planned for Sept. 13-20 and I am disappointed to find out no Tower of Terror, no Aerosmith Roller coaster, and Thunder Mountain Railroad and now no Lion King....that is alot of stuff closed!

Yes, it is the Lion King show. I think it was only going to be down a couple of weeks , so you should be able to see it. Have fun planning around all those rehabs.!! We leave on the 23rd so we should be able to do TOT and RNRC

I'm all for rehabs, they need to be done, but this is really going overboard. There shouldn't be any need (unless safety is the issue) to rehab all those major attractions at the same time. They should finish one, then do the next, etc. I really wonder what they're thinking over at Disney? I also wonder if there's ever been another time where so many attractions were down at the same time like this?

Uh-oh...when is the Rockin' Roller Coaster closing?

I'm going to have one unhappy 30 y/o bf to deal with :(

This is what is listed on Deb's site for closures. It was updated two days ago. Going of facts rather than rumors is always best and I do rely on her pages.

Well, I just called to see what they would tell me for the first week of sept and the CM (very friendly) said:

Swiss Fam
BTMRR
Backlot
Magic of Animation

I asked about FOTLK and she said that it isn't there and that that information would "more than likely" already be in her system.

Who knows...guess we will just have to wait until we get there. Haven't seen FOTLK although we have been advised to several times and we were planning on it this time. Good thing we have two more trips planned after this one...;)

I thought I heard that Blizzard Beach is closing down on November 1 to sometime in December for refurb with Typhoon Lagoon closing after BB is finished. Anyone???

BB lists "hours unavailable" for the last week of October on the Oct hours just released. Usually TL is closed in Nov & Dec, BB in Jan & Feb. But I read somewhere that they are going to flip closures this year, so BB would be Nov & Dec, TL would be Jan & Feb, they are going to do an expansion on TL.

I also heard that the RnR rehab would be before ToT so they are not both closed at the same time.

all those things at the same time, they should at least open up COP and TK as a substitute.

Geez, TOT / RNRC / BTMRR - that's ridiculous. Personally, I don't ride any of those 'cause I'm a big chicken ;) but I feel so bad for people that are going to miss those during their trip!

But, I guess that's the nature of "September in WDW".
We went to WDW last September and HM was closed during our visit. I was extremely upset ... and the closure wasn't even announced until 2-3 weeks before we left for our trip.

I am a little surprised to hear this. When I took the backstage magic tour 2 weeks ago we were told that "Residential Street" (aka Golden Girls house, etc.) is closed but they have reouted the "Backlot tour" and there is no need to close it.

Okay, I'm once again confused! Are RNR and TOT going to be down for rehab in Oct? It's not listed on the web site as such.

Can anyone help clarify for me?

Thanks

Not to second guess you, NJdizneygal, I believe what you were told, but isnt it weird that LionKing still isnt on Disneys site and even Swiss Family tree house is, which doesnt go down until 2 weeks later.
I guess Im just hoping for some Lion King pixie dust. ;)
