my friend has a Dec trip scheduled. They told her with the release of Disney Genie Oct 19 they anticipate that it will be up and running for her December trip. Told her to call one month out and they would do the interview with them, At that time they will give them information on How it would work. They told her than more than likely the new system would be in place for December travelers. Guess we will see. This call happened a couple days ago.

FYI... the general consensus online (DISboards as well as other blogs) seems to be looking at Genie roll-out before the end of October, some saying Oct. 18th. Whether or not some/all of the DAS changes will be included at that same time remains to be seen. But I think 2022 is kind of far for them to have made any announcement in August that won't roll-out until after the first of the year. I expect short notice of the roll-out when it does occur, so the advanced scheduling part may not help those in the near-term.

Agree. Had a cast member tell my friend they expected it to be up and running for my friends Dec trip. Call at one month out and they would get her started.

I’m going early November & am super hopeful that at the very least I’ll be able to get return times on my own (through MDE). Sure, the advance setup sounds nice, but it’s not nearly as important to me. Fingers crossed!!
