We have officially kicked off our Christmas season.
What a wonderful light display! And the weather was perfect, about 62 degrees and dry. Big full moon, too. We took the Jolly Trolley, their tram, through the display. We've never done that before, but I think that will be our future modus operandi. It was so much fun! You get up close and personal with the lights and music. And the whole tram sings Christmas carols as you're riding along. And part of the package(if you're staying on site) is they give you a really nice cloissone-type ornament with one of the 12 Days of Christmas on it. So far we have the partridge in a pear tree and 2 turtle doves.
And Christian was on his best behavior! I was a little nervous at first because he didn't want to sit down on the tram, the main reason we usually just take our car. But we put him between us and he was so enthralled he didn't move for the hour it took to go through. His eyes were big as saucers, even craning his neck around to see what was behind us. DD17 took some really good pictures of us--I'll try to post them at a later time. Back at the hotel room, Christian had a little trouble settling in--you know, strange potty, strange bed, strange TV, etc. The big reason we don't try to travel with him much anymore. But DH got him to lie down with him and soon he was sound asleep.
I definitely think we're going to have to make this a family tradition.
