Call Me Coral 8.8.11 {Kristin & Richard's Wishes WP/BoardWalk Wedding Plans}

I love the tissues! I may have to go to target and pick some up!

I also completely understand what you mean by "falling" in love with a fabric. I was bummed when the dress we all loved didn't come in the fabric I wanted.

I like option 2 for the tie, but I'm not a big patterny person. If the pattern is going to be on a lot of things, then maybe it would tie in with the groomsmen? Sorry, i'm not helpful! lol

I LOVE Target! You should...they are great...plus light for shipping to Florida {which is ALWAYS a + in my book!}

I do like color and pattern but I think you need to be careful mixing patterns and I think that 1 might be too busy to go with the rest of my plans...even though I like the tie on it's own!

Kristin,

Are the guys wearing suits or a tux ?

Chuck-the men are wearing gray suite's...no tux's. Rich will thank me for that later...lol!

I love the kleenex's. I may have to go pick some up for welcome bags as well!! I have been racking my brain on what to put in the welcome bags and that is a great idea.

I like tie #2. I think number 1 may be to much of a pattern for the flower girl baskets. I love the pattern on the baskets by the way!!

I still do not know what I am filling the welcome boxes with but I figured these were a good start! Thanks...a little hint I LOVE Vera Bradley! :rolleyes1 There is more in store for that pattern {but I'm keeping it a secret...at least for now...lol!}

Hey, just joining in. I love those tissues, how cute! Also, I like #2...I'm excited to see you're getting married in August 2011..that will give me something to follow once my wedding is over in January.

Thanks for joining!

I have actually returned tie #1 and now I am looking for other ties that might match better...we will see...I can never make a decision :rotfl:

YEAH excited you will be following me and I will be able to follow you to keep my mind off of my wedding so I don't stress out! :rotfl2:

Hello Ladies...and Gents!

It has been awhile since I posted but as you probably know you really can’t “plan” much before you sign your LOA and even at that point your hands are still tied with food and floral…and most other details! I have spent a lot of time recently researching inspiration pictures {since I can do that} :) I am in LOVE with a bunch of things…I will share them with you soon!

In any case…6 more days until I am in the happiest place on earth and 7 days until I get to meet with Pam in the newly renovated Franck’s! I have a million questions for her…hopefully I can get some answers.

I will be taking as many pictures that I can remember to take and I will share them along with a site visit planning session trip report upon our return.

Happy Planning to all my fellow Disney Brides…and Grooms!

Hello ladies..and gents! Sorry for the delay in posting about anything..especially my recent site visit! Things have been really busy at home but I am in the middle of uploading my pictures and plan to get started on my TR today with hopes to have a post by tonight!

Thanks to everyone who is sticking around to hear about all of our plans! :goodvibes

This post is LONG overdue so please forgive me! :flower3:

My mom and I recently made a trip down to the World to meet with my Coordinator {Pam} to check out the wedding locations, get questions answered, and to finalize a reception location…we were going with a plan-which we never do! This trip was also another excuse for me to stay at a different hotel with the final goal to stay at every Disney hotel…it’s on my “bucket list”!:rotfl:

We boarded our plane out of PHL at 7:00AM and were on our way to Disney!!! Every time I begin the trek I instantly turn into a little kid…I get SO excited…it’s FANTASTIC! After a short 2 hour flight our pilot, Captain Hook, and flight attendants, Ariel and Aladdin, announced our arrival in sunny Orlando Florida…10 minutes early! Go Hook! The pilot honestly introduced himself and the crew this way upon takeoff…he embraced the Disney magic and I was so excited that he made the flight “Disney-like,” it was great.
SVPlane.jpg

Once we landed we went straight the lower level to board our magical express. This trip we only opted for carry-on’s only so there was no need to go to baggage claim but if we didn’t then Disney would pick up our luggage for us and take it to our hotel room {LOVE the Disney “magic”}!
SVDCLBus.jpg

After a brief wait we were boarded onto our bus which was actually a DCL bus…but hey it was still going to get me to where I needed to go…and we were on our way! This trip we were staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort…and I was excited since I heard good things about the resort. Once we arrived at our hotel around 11:30am we were dropped off at the “Custom House” where we checked in!
CIMG5279.jpg

CIMG5280.jpg

We were greeted by a VERY friendly cast member. She retrieved our reservation information and said “Congratulations on your recent engagement and we are glad to be hosting your wedding!”…”it looks like you have been upgraded to a water view room at no charge!” I was so excited…see why I LOVE Disney! It also turns out that our room was ready so we headed outside to wait for the resort shuttle to take us to Jamaica!!!
CIMG5290.jpg

After a short ride we arrived at our "island" and made the short walk to our room.
CIMG5286.jpg

Once inside we were greeted by this little character!
CIMG5282.jpg

CIMG5285.jpg

CIMG5283.jpg

After dropping off our bags and a quick freshening up we walked to the bus stop to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom!

If you are still reading this I will continue my TR this coming week. Enjoy your weekend...I will be working a wedding this Saturday so I know I will :lovestruc

Thanks! It is really exciting...and a bit scary too! :scared1:

Welcome! Thanks...I fell in love with them too, glad they are getting love from others. Your right-it's so hard not to buy things when you see them because you never know if you will see it again if you don't buy it and if you do buy it you might change your mind (which I have done :rotfl:)! Enjoy the planning process-even if it is stressful and makes you want to pull out all of your hair :rolleyes1

Hello! I know I owe you all another post about our site visit but things have been crazy around here...I will be sure to update you soon on day #1 of our trip.

In the meantime I had to share that after reading our letter of agreement...over and over and over again...we have faxed it to Pam!!!

fax.jpg

Our 19 pages of rules and guidelines has been signed and sent with our deposit :yay:!

I guess we can actually get moving on these wedding plans...and that only means more posts and updates for you!

Happy hump day and enjoy the rest of your week!!!

Hello...I know, I know...What happened to the posts?! :confused3

With everything that I have had going on I have not had anytime to read anything on the boards :scared1: let alone post! I am working on the trip report from our site visit and I hope to post SOMETHING (anything) tonight!

In the meantime WE HAVE OUR PLANNER!!!! :yay:

Pam Pearce was our coordinator and she was absolutely phenomenal...I loved working with her but I knew that she would not be with us for the whole process..sad but true.

Since we submitted our LOA we have officially been handed over to our planner, Carol Mikles!!! Pam assures me that we are in good hands. Have any of you ladies worked with her? She sounds sweet and has an awesome southern accent...I wish I had one :rotfl:!

Carol sent me a BUNCH of things that I plan on looking over tonight...I guess I can actually start planning rather then brainstorming...life is good.

Well I hope to get some followers back to posting and I guess the posting must start with me...hope your still out there reading and following our plans-it's about to get exciting!

Well we made into the Kingdom with no problems-as usual! As soon as we walked in we ran into
CIMG5292.jpg
…let the magic begin!
button1.jpg

We made our way down Main Street USA to pay a visit to Walt…but he already had a visitor
CIMG5298.jpg
.

Shortly after snagging this picture
CIMG5299.jpg
we ran into the “Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It Dance Party”…
CIMG5304.jpg

This was just the beginning of our impeccable timing! After the dance party the show in front of the castle began and we scored a great spot to stand! While waiting we noticed a “hidden” Mickey in the shrubs
CIMG5311.jpg
!
CIMG5313.jpg
CIMG5317.jpg
CIMG5320.jpg

After the show it was off to play! My mom and I took our time going through the Kingdom starting off in Adventure Land. The crowds were practically nonexistent therefore the lines were short; I guess that’s the upside to rainstorms every 10 minutes for 5 seconds and the crazy heat and humidity…which will be torturous on my hair for the wedding and honeymoon in 292 days!!! We rode a few rides and strolled through the lands until we needed to head to the Contemporary for our reservations at The Wave. We boarded the monorail and we were off…
CIMG5323.jpg
. I must say that I never ate there before but I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was killer…delicious!
CIMG5328.jpg
For dinner I had the Strawberry Flatbread Salad with midnight moon cheese and champagne vinaigrette
CIMG5332.jpg
(YUMMMM!) and The Wave Appetizer for Two which is sautéed sea scallops with rock shrimp and lump crab cakes
CIMG5331.jpg
(Do you think they would ship this to me…I could TOTALLY eat it…RIGHT NOW!)

Since we were already in the Contemporary my mom and I decided to get a sneak peak at the ballrooms…
CIMG5337.jpg
CIMG5336.jpg

Next we headed back to the Magic Kingdom to finish what we started…but we took a pit stop to find this
CIMG5338.jpg
I really wish that Disney would run this promotion again…I need one, however now that I have seen the wedding ones…I think that I actually NEED one of those!

Back into the park
CIMG5342-1.jpg
and ready for some more fun! We wandered through the lands and ended up in Fantasy Land for Wishes!
CIMG5347.jpg
CIMG5348.jpg
CIMG5351.jpg
Which was then the PERFECT time to ride the carousel and find Cinderella’s horse!!!
CIMG5352.jpg
CIMG5353.jpg
CIMG5354.jpg

We then started making our way out of the park. I stopped at the hat shop to get some special ears that I will share with you all later!!! And we ended the night with the Main Street Electrical Parade
CIMG5357.jpg

What an AWESOME 1st day!!!

Up next…Our Actual Site Visit and Meeting Pam!

It was our second day in Disney and that meant it was D day! Today was our scheduled site visit with Pam at Francks. My mom and I started the day with a quick breakfast at our Resort before heading to the Grand Floridian and making our way to Francks
CIMG5362.jpg

DSCF1352-1.jpg

When we got to Francks we were greeted by the receptionist and seconds later Pam arrived and took us into one of the meeting rooms. We sat and chatted about my vision for our wedding and we talked about the different locations for the reception...since I had my heart set on the wedding pavilion since day one! We met with Pam for a good hour or so, going over some initial questions. I mentioned that I wanted to have the reception at the Nutcracker Ballroom in the Contemporary (But you might remember that my mom and I were a bit under impressed by our impromptu sneak peak the night before). Pam then said she had a few other places that she wanted to show me...and off we went!

Even though I KNEW I wanted the wedding pavilion we still made a quick stop to check it out...and there was a wedding scheduled for that afternoon which was a little bonus so it was decorated :yay:

We even got to meet Chuck, the organist, and Pam had him play us a tune...how magical! I know I will be tearing up during my wedding that's for sure!

Hiya, just joining in! Im looking forward to reading more of your site visit TR and I love the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses! Carol is my planner too and she's so fab!

everything looks great! cant wait to read more! im joining in and excited for you!!! :goodvibes

Thanks Sarah! Excited to have you join...now we are getting closer and I will have so much more to share! Thanks again

Hi! Thank you...I love them too. Glad to hear that Carol is fabulous! :woohoo:

After seeing the wedding pavilion, in person, I knew that our ceremony had to take place there, thankfully Pam told me that it was available on August 8, 2011 at 5:00pm {I was ecstatic!!!}.

CIMG5362.jpg

CIMG5564.jpg

We then began our tour of reception sites, first up was the Nutcracker Ballroom at the Contemporary Resort.

DSCF1359.jpg

This is an outdoor space that you can host a dessert party at the Contemporary...great view of the Magic Kingdom too!

Ballroom Walls, rug and chairs.

Pam showed us around the space but I didn’t get that “warm fuzzy feeling” so I knew this was not it. I let Pam know and she said that she really wanted me to see another site that she felt was a perfect fit. We then headed to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort which is home to the Promenade Ballroom. We pulled up to the BoardWalk and I began to smile from ear to ear, before even stepping foot inside!

DSCF1393.jpg

Well ladies (and gents) I'm cutting this post short...I need to run to the gym. I will be back later tonight to add some more! Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing and sharing it with all of you!

Back to business!

Where were we?! Oh that's right...we just arrived at the BoardWalk...

Pam showed us the pre-reception location, which had an adorable patio attached, and the reception location.

This is the patio off of the St. James Place 3 of 3. If I remember correctly St. James 2 and 3 are the ones that open into the patio/courtyard.

Once inside the ballroom I was in love, it was stunning!

Promenade Ballroom decor. It just so happens to coordinate with our wedding colors...Coral and Turquoise!!!

Not only was it beautiful but Disney’s BoardWalk was inspired by Atlantic City, New Jersey…how perfect since Rich and I have taken several trips there?!

Pam was excited that I liked the space but she wanted to show me one more site, the Grand Floridian, just in case the BoardWalk was not available. The ballrooms at the Grand Floridian were beautiful as well; however I still kept my fingers crossed for the BoardWalk!

We then headed into the other smaller room at the Grand Floridian...the Whitehall Room? Luckily they were setting up for a wedding (If you got married on 8/10/10 and had your reception here this is for you!)...

Check out the cake!

After our site tour we headed back to Franck’s to finish up our early planning session.

CIMG5368.jpg

Pam checked on the BoardWalk’s availability while my mom and I flipped through some photo albums.

CIMG5381.jpg

Pam returned with GREAT news, the BoardWalk was available!!! I then had some final questions for Pam and we concluded our early planning session. Pam congratulated me {again} on my engagement and gave me LOTS of paperwork and a really cute “Just Engaged” button...It was so exciting to get all the congratulations and free desserts (including a Mickey Premium Bar) that this gave us for the rest of our trip!

Button-Copy.jpg

Having this site visit and early planning session was so important and I am very thankful that I had it. If I had not met with Pam, in person, I would have booked the Nutcracker Ballroom at the Contemporary sight unseen. Thankfully I was fortunate enough to meet with Pam and she was introduced me to the PERFECT wedding reception location for our upcoming Disney Fairytale Wedding!

Happy Planning :wizard:
