Call Center Jobs in Central Florida?

Hello, me and my S.O. are thinking about moving to Orlando, can anyone from the area tell what great companies are based in Orlando? or at least have call centers there? Me and my GF both have worked in Call Centers for years and have lots of experience, just wondering who the best companies are based int he Orlando area. Thanks for the help ! And as you can see i am new here, but have been listening to the podcast for a long time.

As an ex-local phone company employee in Orlando, I can tell you that the area is FULL of call centers. Other than the obvious (Disney, of course), there is everything from timeshare resales to collections to mortgage and insurance.

They have congregated around Lake Mary and Altamonte Springs, but others are scattered all around the area as far south as Kissimmee. Some of the largest are with Disney, AT&T Wireless, Embarq, InCharge, Universal, and Campus Crusade for Christ. There always is the option of contacting a placement firm around Orlando, such as Aerotek or Spherion. All of these companies have been stable in Orlando for years. Others, such as anything run by Lou Perlman, didn't fare well.

Definitely Research, but there are call centers around here, but with such high unemployment jobs are very competitive and there are fewer openings. But you have experience so you should be able to find something.

I moved down to Central Florida in Sept 2008 and I researched for about 2 years before we actually decided to move here, but even so until I got here I didn't realize how competitive it would get for finding employment. I have gotten 2 different jobs here, and I have quit both jobs because of the physical Limitations I have Personally, but it takes perserverance and hitting the pavement so to speak to find jobs and be prepared to have to wait a bit for a position.
