Call Ahead Room Numbers?

I agree Dean. He responded to my post stating my concern and I planned to leave it at that. However, you used and interesting word when you said 'defend'. That is the position I felt I was in when he quoted me. He explained - he has nothing to defend at this point and neither do I.
Then why the post 2 back from this one. IMO, there was nothing to leave except the realization that you over responded to an innocent post. It happens, I dare say we've all done it.

Okay, I really need to be done with this thread. My quote lived on, through you and others, therefore, the need to respond. Again, as someone who works on the internet all day, if I responded to a client in that manner, I would not have a job. Over react, maybe, or perhaps it was an overzealous post that deserved to be called out.
Have a great day!

Excuse me, but he chose to quote me and then write in capital letters with an exclamation point. I have a job that requires me to interact with clients on the internet all day. There are many people who would interpret that as being yelled at. Again, my post was merely reporting on my recollection of what a CM had previously posted. I did not give an opinion on the subject either way - I just found it interesting

You are right I missed the capitals on "do not" my bad. Sorry

One thing I think we all miss sometimes, when we quote someone, we are not really responding to them personally but just commenting on the info shared.

Does that make sense or not, :confused3

Actually I think you and TJ were talking about the same thing, maybe.

Oh heck who knows, it is hot as heck here and my brain is fried and it is still May. :lmao:

According to my Disney contact, online check in was implemented to save Disney money by expediting the check in process.

The benefit to Guests is that usually your room is already assigned and your check in material was put together the night prior to your arrival.

We need to remember that online check in is a Disney process, not a DVC one and it affects hundreds of thousands Guests.

Disney attempted to enforce a no room change policy for online check in a couple of years ago at BLT. When we checked in using online check in, I asked for a different room. I was told by the Front Desk CM and her Manager that they were sorry but changes were no longer available if we used online check in.

When I contacted DVC Management and expressed my dissatisfaction, they explained that the product and policy was Disney Resorts and not theirs.

Subsequently the no change policy was withdrawn in a couple of weeks.

We have 20 or so check ins during the past couple of years about half using online check in. Our room requests have been honored about 50% of the time and it doesn't seem to matter if we checked in online or not.

Quoting a poster is the number one rule of this board. Especially someone who might go back and edit or delete their post at a later time. Not to say you would delete your post.
