I learned this morning that Del Martin, who was one of the wives in the first legal same-sex marriage performed here in California, died yesterday. I followed her and her widow's ( Phyliss Lyon) story because they also married in the overturned ceremonies from before and then waited all night outside of San Francisco's City Hall to marry in June. Phyliss was at her side at time of death at the University of California's hospice. Does anyone know whether Phyliss will be entitled to survivors' benefits after all of this?
