I think what people mean is that the "fully opened" came with some unspecified limitations that weren't really disclosed. I imagine it will keep distancing & masks as a minimum. It also said if trends continue they way they are. That actually is the BIG if.

I can understand people being hesitant to trust it. But I also agree, it's the most upbeat I've heard him in a long time and yes, I think there may be some things pushing that along.

The article says "The details of what "fully open" means aren't quite clear yet. The state said "everyday activities" will be allowed to resume and businesses can reopen with "common-sense risk reduction measures," such as wearing masks."
As we have learned, theme parks are there own seperate category.

My thoughts exactly. Only 78 days until we're in WDW!

I'm aiming for a November Disneyland trip so I have more certainty. But I do think the political motivations to change up the approach are a big factor here that might actually turn out to be... things really being opened up. This is definitely a new tune!

I’m excited but also feel like there’s no guarantee it won’t shut down again July 1. I have reservations on both coasts in September. I keep telling myself to give it to late June to decide. Which if DL tickets are booked 60 days out, that’s fine anyway. It’s hoping DHS doesn’t book for Labor Day weekend that early that’s tougher.... June has been booked for weeks.

I remain cautious as well, but the data they are receiving must be extremely favorable. It appears the vaccines are working better than expected with no spikes from the variants. I'm planning a Halloween visit. So hopefully by then, most things will be open if not all.

I'm not sure fully open means what anyone thinks it means. I suspect limits on outside visitors and crowds sizes will likely remain for a while. Also, the recall thing is a thing, but no one knows if it will really happen. It's really not a huge group of people that are asking for the recall given the population of California, so while he may be feeling pressured, I still don't think "open" will be the way Florida is open.
