As many of you all know 2 months ago, two trains collided on california screamin. Today (10/14/05) California screamin reopens after its 2 month downtime.

New features
- bigger pouch for your carry-on items
-safer track (We all we expecting that)

Bigger pouch?? I don't remember there ever being anywhere to put your stuff. I always had to hold my backpack with my feet. This sounds like a nice addition. Is it like the cargo nets on Indy?

This is great news. I do not remember a cargo pouch either. But, I think it's a great addition. I'd always stick my leg thru my shoulder strap and stick my backpack behind my legs. It was not very comfortable and I had to move fast getting in and exiting to get the strap on and off my leg. :earsboy:

Excellent!!!

I was just browsing around to see if there were any news releases to confirm the rumor that it was supposed to reopen today.

Thanks Darth!

I'm excited that I'll be able to ride it again next week when we get there! :cool1:

I don't recall the pouch either. I had to hold on to my purse everytime I rode that ride.

Safer track, hmmmm. I would hope the track is safe everytime I ride a ride there.

So, there wasn't a computer glitch after all? That's what I thought that caused the problem?

I'll be there in a couple more weeks. :Pinkbounc

From what I read it had nothing to do with the computer system. It was something about air leaks in the break system. It was leaking too much air to stop the car quick enough or something like that.

I just road California Screamin' Three times this evening, the last day of my trip to Disneyland. It was fantastic. I was so excited to hear that it was opened after a being teased watching the empty cars go by all week. The single riders line works great on this ride.

There are pouches with velcro enclosures at most seats (on some seats, there is only one for the two seats). They are not like the net pouches on most ride. They are black pouches with a cover that closes over it--they kind of reminded me of a camera case, minus the padding).

I had a small Disney World day pack (maybe six inches by 12 inches), and it just barely fit in the pouch. I would guess that small purses and baseball caps will fit in it. Anything larger than a average size loaf of bread would be too big.

Thanks for the info on the pouches!! Sounds like you had a great time riding CA screamin at night! Can't wait until I go back on Oct. 30
