California Screamin Restrictions??

Is there a weight/measurement restriction on this ride? Lately I've been reading on some other sites about the seat restraints having restrictions, for example, on Xcelarator and GhostRider, and I was wondering if at DL there are any rides that have these restrictions. I'm a "Pooh-sized" woman (over weight but not obese) and I really want to try the California Screamin and Stinger. Anyone have any experiences with this?

Only the usual warnings are posted for Screamin'. Back problems, pregnant, etc. The restraints are over the shoulder only, and the seats are very comfortable.

I believe Stinger has a 250lb weight limit per seat, those seats look a bit more restrictive.

I'm oversized and have ridden Screamin' many times with no problems at all.

Ride with confidence. I am Pooh sized and had no problems on either.

Disney seems to one of the only parks that make room for those who are size challenged.

As long as the restraints can be properly fit, you can ride anywhere. The seats on Screamin' are really built no different than any other coaster.

Knott's just "advertises" the requirement more to help it's guests and it's employees avoid the disappointment which comes when someone has to be removed from a ride and all the inconveniences it causes for waiting guests and the efficient operation (the also got sued from the family of one guest who couldn't properly use her restraint and fell from Perilous Plunge). As long as it's comfortable for you and your restraints can be engaged, they'll do everything they can to get you in (it's up to you how uncomfortable you want to be). They provide test seats at the entrances of several of their rides so you can try them before getting in line. I've seen guests in the 300 lb ballpark on Xcellerator and GhostRider with no major difficulties in getting seated.

GhostRider and Xcelerator use lap bars and seat belts. Screamin' has lap bars and over the shoulder restraints which together are more restricting than most any coaster at Knott's.

I am a size 20/22 and have no trouble riding anything I want to at Disneyland Resort. Thankfully I do not want to ride Orange Stinger (glorfied swing ride), because the wieght limit is 200 lbs. The only other ride with a wieght limit is Jumpin Jellyfish with a combined weight limit(per two riders) of 350.

Thank you all for your responses, I feel more confident now. I've recently gained all this weight because of knee surgery and I can't seem to lose it! But I don't want to stop going to the Happiest Places on Earth!! Thanks again to you all.

Dont know about the limit... but oh man what a heck of a ride!! Last christmas was the first time for me at Disneyland and that ride... was just incredible.

Just a warning - Mullhuland Madness will not allow a larger person and a small child to ride together. The safety bar is one bar for both passangers. They use a large foam 'ring' around the safety bar to fill space when a larger person is riding with a small child, but if the space is still to great, they will inform you that you can't ride together. -- My husband and I were seated behind a mother and young child (very young, probably barely met the height limit). The CM told her that they would have to ride seperatly and she was humiliated. She and her DD decided not to ride the ride because she didn't want her to ride alone. I offered to sit with her little girl and the mother sat with my husband. Everything worked out fine, but the mother did tell us it was very embarassing for her. Just a warning...

Thanks for the warning, but what is Mullhuland Madness? I won't be with any children but with my SIL. . . .

MM is a little roller coaster. -- As long as your with another adult you shouldn't have any problem. -- And if your not with children, there's a pretty good chance that you will skip the ride all together I think it's fun, but I think most people consider it a 'kiddie' ride. It's a very compact zig zag type roller coaster. It's supposed to be like your on Mullholland highway (whindy road) so basically like being in a car with a bad driver.
