This is really irresponsible reporting (what a surprise coming from this site). Until this is confirmed or announced by Disney, this is not a fact and, very likely, a glitch. The headline should really say, "website indicates California Grill menu has changed to buffet-style".
100% THIS^ Aside from nothing said buffet, that some things strangely say prices, and really $28.99 for filet? RED FLAGS this is a screwed up webpage. You have to stop using rumors on discussion boards to create news content.
WDWToday (Disney's twitter) responds there are IT "glitches" so prices are not showing. Multiple reliable sources have contacted Disney and told it is an IT "glitch" and potentially a slip of the NYE Menu (which is buffet as it should be for the blood they want for it) and it slipped out on website.
Let's be clear Disney IT "glitches" are not glitches. These things don't appear on their own, they are uploaded by human beings. Human beings that are bad at their job and don't check their work.
Here's my theory, from working with content management systems in other capacities. They're working on a draft of a special event menu that will eventually be published under a "holiday" choice on the drop-down. Someone forgot to check which menu choice was active when they were editing, and accidentally saved their work under "dinner" instead. But because they were copying and pasting the new content into the template, they over-wrote the proper content and now have to go back to put it all back together.
Shouldn't you do that on the non-live version of the website?
ABSOLUTELY and having worked on websites, not even as a full blow IT professional level, I know how to do this and how not to do this. This is the poorest IT group ever. It's not rocket science to keep this non-published while you work. Completely unacceptable for Disney, no excuses, this is ongoing and they have become a joke. How long is Disney going to accept this lack of ability of their people?
And to all websites ............. stop reporting #FakeNews. Contact the source first.
