Hi,
I got a 6:10 PS for California Grill and wishes that night is at 8:00PM. There was no other times available for on that day until after 8PM :( . If we take our time, will we be able to extend our stay until wishes are over?
Previous experiance at PS usually takes 20 minutes for seating, drinks and 1st course etc., I think DW and I can drag it out. Has anyone been asked to leave CG to free a table?

Thanks,
Dad of 3.

I think you'll be fine. They closed the deck for folks just wandering up from the lobby and the hotel and have reserved it just for restaurant guests. At least it was that way on our last trip. So even if you end before 8pm, you can get out on the deck before the show begins.

We eat there on every trip. It's our favorite restaurant and we've eaten pretty much everywhere! I can't ever remember being rushed. They are much too polite there. We've had great service - and have even had the same waiter 2-3 times over 4-5 years. He gave us his cell phone number!

Did you try to get an Illuminations cruise that night? Only reason I ask is that I had one reserved at 90 days and was able to have it leave from the Contemporary Dock. We had a wonderful night cruise after our dinner and then the fireworks. It was great.

mmmcq,
thank-you for your response, I was reading some of the other posts when I noticed that I already got a response to my question.

DW and I have agreed that the dinner will be a 20th anniversary dinner, even though the actual date is three weeks earlier, so I will definitely plan to spend major coin for the meal.

Illumination cruise afterwards sounds great, but I am actually at WDW for a conference next month and we were not planning to enter the theme parks this time. So I doubt, we will be able to reserve a cruise at this late date. Thanks for the tip though.

As was stated you will have access to the outter catwalks regardless of when you eat, so you don't need to drag it out. The new policy allows ALL guests that have dinner at CG to utilize the roof top viewing if they wish. All you have to do is show them your receipt from dinner and they will allow you up (so no need to worry about what time your PS is for). In your case you probably would just be finishing up dinner anyway, with appetizers, meals and dessert we usually spend a good hour and half to 2 hours there. But still, just wanted to let you know as long as you have a receipt from dinner you will have access to the roof top regardless.

Under park strategies there is a discussion page about sharing Illumination cruises in each month. We've successfully found a cruise to share this way and have gave up one of our cruises last year to a young man who wanted to propose to his girl friend. Just in case you decide you want a cruise.
