California Grill to debut new beverage menu

I saw this information as well. Now it's just waiting, and waiting and waiting until the 26th to make my ADR. :cool1:

Hope you got your reservation. I was able to get a 6:55 for Oct 5th. If all goes well we should be able to catch the fireworks assuming there at 9 that night.

Ok, so you got me curious, does his name start with a W?

Truthful, I haven't "looked" at a menu in years as I just tell him to bring me a starter, entree, desert and wine to go with each course and let him take it from there. My wife on the other hand might be upset if her go to items are gone.

It most certainly does start with a W :)

That's so funny but I can't say I'm surprised. I kinda feel bad for the other staff because I will wait 2 hours for dinner if needed to ensure I sit with him, but I'm sure they all offer great service.

You should keep in mind that the reason the grill was closed for such a long time was not entirely for the refurbishment of the restaurant. From what I understand, work needed to be done to the roof of the resort, the Grill was closed mainly for that purpose.

I'm in the same boat as you, I love the grill. I would be happy with no changes at all. I will hold my judgment until I have a chance to eat there. Hoping for the first weekend in OCT.

Interesting! I had no clue a lot of it had to do with the roof! I got my ressie set for Dec and am very much looking fwd to seeing the changes...
I looked at the renderings online, doesn't look how it was described. Very muted. And the seating isn't very private anymore, it's like a long wall of booths with tables all close to one another, so we'll be eating on top of each other!

It does look a bit that way, but we will wait and see for ourselves. I think the goal was to offer more people the amazing view. It will be interesting to see if all the private rooms remain or if they added more general tables. I also hear there will be LOTS AND LOTS of wine on display.

I fear that the California grill is gone as we know it... And it wasn't as good as it once was before it closed. That was what I was worried about in the first place when the "rehab" was announced.
Have Nov. 3rd reservations. I'll try it then, but I did review the menu and thought it looked pretty good. I will say the prices were over the top. If we didn't have TiW, They would be even harder to swallow.

I think it's a little unfair to pass judgment without trying the new restaurant, food and service first.

It looked like online the private room is still there...and also saw a rendering of the wine wall! Where would I start?!! LOL! :rotfl:
