Hello! We made an ADR for California Grill on New Years Day. My DH really wants to try it. I am more of a picky eater. I've taken a look at the menu and I don't really see anything that stands right out. Can anyone suggest something that a "meat and potatoes" kind of girl would like. Thank you!
This will be our first time eating here.

For an appetizer, Quadruple Cheese with Sun-dried Tomatoes and Basil Pesto is pretty tame stuff - like a pizza

For a Main Course, Oak-fired Beef Filet with Potato and Gorgonzola Pave, Blue Lake beans, and Tamarind Barbecue Sauce is basic meat & potatoes stuff. You can ask for the sauce on the side (I do as I'm not a BBQ sauce kind of girl) The Filet is really amazing

If you want to experience just a little (but stick with something "safe"), I would recommend the Veal Tournedos with ricotta gnocchi. The ricotta gnocchi is not quite what I expected (having grown up on my grandmother's tradional potato gnocchi), but it's very good and tasty.

The Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli appetizer is very good as well (and considered a house specialty).

My only "can't miss" recommendation is - save room for dessert.

Enjoy.

The pork tenderloin with polenta is so yummy!! I don't know if they have a different menu for NYE but this is my favorite!! The polenta tastes more like a "soupy" mashed potato.

Start with one of there flatbreads ( they are all great ) .
We had the Pork Tenderloin last month and it was fabulous. It was so tender and moist and the polenta it came with was very good.
For dessert try the Warm Valrhona Chocalate Cake.

Well, if you like meat and potatoes, you could always get the Filet with mashed potaotes! It's my husband's favorite. Also, the last time we were there, they let our friend substitute mashed potatoes for the polenta with the pork loin. She raved about the pork tenderloin as well!

I'm pretty sure any of the meat dishes they serve can be had w/o any sauce, etc. Just plain.

Thank you so much for your replys. I feel alot better now knowing that you can get the meat without the sauce! I am sure we will really enjoy it!
