California Grill dress?

What is appropriate to wear to the California Grill for a couple? Can we get by with dressy shorts and shirt with sandals.... or is better expected..

I went in a Polo shirt. As I see it, it is My vacation and I am paying for the meal... so I wanted to be comfortable.
