I'm looking to get some opinions about the California Grill brunch. I've read some reviews and while it looks great I'm trying to figure out if what I'm getting is worth the price. I believe I read $80 per adult. That price seems like a lot of money for getting to choose from a small buffet and an a la carte menu. By all means we don't skimp on dining at Disney but this one is just hard to figure out. We have a first time dinner reservation for California Grill with the kids but was thinking of doing the brunch just me and DH. We will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and wanted to be able to celebrate with a meal by ourselves and this is one of my choices. We are staying at BLT so it would work out great. If it is worth the price for the food plus atmosphere/experience then I'm in. If anyone has opinions about the brunch experience I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

We were there on last Sunday. We had DD8 and DD2 with us. I can honestly say that we have absolutely no buyer's remorse when it comes to this meal. We were using Deluxe dining plan so I suppose that sort of "softens the blow". Lol. Very good food, NOT ordinary low-quality buffet food like most AYCTE places. Upon arrival there will be unlimited mimosas, good selection of buffet choices and the entrees were very good too. DW had the eggs benedict with lobster and I had the chicken. Both were very good. On paper the chicken sounds a little underwhelming but I had read some reviews before going and many folks raved about the chicken so I decided to try it. It did not disappoint. Dessert platter was good too. I wish I had some of those macaroons right now! After our meal we took a stroll and wandered around the observation decks. Definitely one of the more memorable meals from our trip.

Here's a thread with pics:

(That $80 does not include tax and tip)

Otherwise it's worth doing at least once. Have you looked at what's on the buffet? Also, you can order as many entrees as you want. Unlimited mimosas that they just keep bringing without having to ask. The food was excellent and I ate too much. That walk over to MK in the heat was a killer.

We sat one row back from the window with an great view of MK.

I went ahead and booked for DH and I. The reviews look great and I agree with trying this at least once. Looking forward to it!

It's special to us...we make a point to go every time we visit. The music, the sushi, the slower pace, the linens, no characters and the VIEW. We can usually finish the whole NYT crossword over this brunch, very relaxing.

All I can do is relate OUR Nov 2016 experience.... We are TIW holders, APs, and DVC Members. We go to WDW twice per year, 12 years running. We REGULARLY go to the CA Grill for dinners.

That brunch was WONDERFUL. Well worth it in every way. Hardest thing to do was to not get slammed on the never ending Mimosa's, as we were going to the MK after brunch :). My dear wife LOVED this, and the Grill delivered their usual EXCELLENCE, at brunch :). Lobster Eggs Benedict for us.... as well as a general selection from the "food bar" - which one could fill up from on it's own :).

Folks? This is NOT your grandaddy's buffet. OH no. EVERYTHING is as fresh as a 13 year old male right out of Jr High :). We would HIGHLY recommend this event :).

Why are you YELLING with all the Caps? Very hard to read. Annoying

I don't think PP was using all caps to indicate yelling. My impression of that post is they were EXTREMELY HAPPY with the dining experience. Think of the all caps as jubilation, not yelling.

I didn't find it hard to read at all.

*And it contributed far more to this thread than your post.*

All CAPS in online posts is considered yelling - Internet etiquette
I agree the poster was happy, but I found it extremely difficult and annoying to read

I booked the brunch for my DD and me for our next spring break trip. It will be 2 days after her 18th birthday (we arrive on the Friday which is her birthday).

Is it worth $80, for her, who can't enjoy mimosas? And, who often eats quite light? Maybe not for the portion of food she will eat. To me, though, it looks lovely, and she is excited to go! Bottomless mimosas for me, a nice relaxing quality brunch for us, for roughly $200. Yes, it is a lot for that one meal, but I think it's "worth it" to us, as it's something new!

We mostly do counter service meals at Disney, because that's the way she and I roll. But this looks really nice!

After reading the reviews and looking at the pictures, I booked it for our next stay and I can't wait to stuff myself lol. Be a great way to end a Disney vacation I'll say!
