California Grill before Wishes

I managed to finally get that elusive reservation for California Grill for our trip in April (on a Sat. night no less!). Our reservation is for 7:30 PM. My question is, once we are done eating will be able to stay for Wishes? TYIA!

We had a 7:30 reservation for CG and I thought it would be way too early for the fireworks show, but it ended up being perfect. The fireworks started at 9:00 and we were just finished with our entrees when the fireworks started. When we came back in from the patio, dessert was on the table. But even if you finish eating early, you can still go up to the balcony when the fireworks start. Just show your receipt at the hostess station and they will take you up the elevator to CG.

We had an 8:00 ADR on a Saturday night and the fireworks were scheduled for 9:00. The place was absolutely packed. We arrived at 7:45 and we weren't seated until around 8:35. (everyone sits around drinking waiting for the fireworks to start - tables do not turn over quickly) We'd had plenty of time to study the menu and by this time, we were pretty tired and ordered our food as soon as the waiter walked up. Our food was delivered to our table exactly at 9:00, when the fire works began. My daughter and I walked outside to watch, and to tell you the truth, it wasn't great of an experience. The fireworks are still along way off and the observation deck was extremely crowded. I always recommend to people that if they want to eat at the California Grill and see the fireworks, to eat early, and then walk to the MK and see them there for your self.

Fireworks are always the absolute best if you're standing on Main Street looking straight ahead at the castle, of course, but we still love the California Grill fireworks experience. Yes, it is further away, but you know that going in. Frankly, to me, part of the price of CG is justified by the fact that you get that unique fireworks viewing opp, with the music piped in and lights dimmed in the restaurant.

A 7:30 ADR should line up perfectly with 9:00 fireworks. We have been there in the middle of entrée and between courses (entrée and dessert), and the servers have been very helpful in keeping food warm, etc. (e.g., with a silver dome). They know that the fireworks time is part of the experience at that time of night and, at least typically, go out of their way to make it a good one.
