California Grill and single diner

I will be at Portofino Bay at Universal for a conference the first week in June. My plan is to have dinner at California Grille one night during Wishes so I still get my Disney fix while in Orlando.

Is it going to be possible to get an ADR for one or should I just take my chance to get a seat at the bar for dinner.

ADRs for one are available, as I have gotten many in my day myself. The only way to find out whether or not such an ADR will be available at CG for the day you want to go there is to try to make such an ADR (since we are well within the 180 day window). You can do this by calling Disney or trying to get one via Disney's on-line reservation system. Good luck!

I think the lounge is fantastic for solo dining, the servers are great. Get there early, claim a window seat. I have done that once and kept ordering snacks and wine until the fireworks. Most of the time I don't bother with the fireworks but if you don't have anyplace else to be, it can be nice to just hang out there.

I wouldn't try accessing the bar within an hour to an hour and a half of the start time for Wishes. You might get lucky, or it might be already crowded and they won't let you up.

I find it's easy to do walk ups when you're only 1 person, but for Cali Grill and wanting to see Wishes, I would want the ADR. Yes, they do have them for 1. If you can't get one now, keep trying.
If you don't get an ADR, I would walk up and ask to sit in the lounge 60-90 minutes before Wishes starts.
