California Grill 50th Anniversary Special Dining?

Disney Website says 'California Grill is currently unavailable for bookings after October 2 as we create a special dining experience for the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort. '
Any rumors/news on what it might be? When reservations may open?

I'm sure, and while I usually avoid all things at Disney that are super-priced without value I find myself strangely attracted to this one.

When I looked at the dates on the app, those dates are grayed out. I’m scheduled to arrive Sep. 30; perhaps dates open for the entire stay once the arrival date is within 60 days?

You're right. Dates open for your entire stay once the arrival date is within 60 days.

For instance, we are going 9/28-10/4. My ADR window starts tomorrow morning and I am planning to make my reservations for the days during my length of stay through 10/4.

I'm gonna say minimum $199 per person. Prix Fixe menu. As with everything else now. Prices may vary depending on when you want to dine (fireworks, etc.).

I finally convinced my husband to eat here with me in January. (I've been a few times, but he's never been.) So of COURSE they have to change it all up! Oh well. Guess I'll see what crazy thing they come up with and we'll decide if whatever it is is worth it.

I believe you can book 70 days in advance if you are staying at a Disney Resort

”Guests may make advance reservations for dining and other experiences up to 60 days in advance. In addition, Disney Resort hotel Guests can make reservations up to 60 days in advance plus the length of their stay (up to 10 days).”

If you have a 10+ day stay you can book the 10th day at 70 days out. Your window opens 60 days from your check in date.

Also remember if you are switching resorts, you have a separate dining reservation window. I totally forgot that on Sunday, and have a 2nd reservation window for my Oct 4 - 7 dates on Wed.

I'll be watching as well. We are going in January with some friends who have never been before and don't mind splurging. But, I'm also hoping it won't end up being a BIG splurge (we would be paying for 4 since my adult daughters are coming as well) and I'm worried it will be.
