California Cruisers

Annas,

Sometime it cost more $$ to use a shuttle service than to rent a car. If your are staying in a place that is close to DL or has a shuttle service to the parks you definetly don't need a car. If you are planning on seeing other areas of So Cal then a car is a must. If you are just doing DL, I would look into a shuttle to and from the ship and DL. DL and CA are literally steps away from each other with DTD off to the side. We usually do both parks when we go because DL gets too crowded for us and it's a nice break over at Ca Adventure. It probably is cheaper to just have the rental car than to try and shuttle it all those times. Now that I've totally confused you I'll let someone else try to answer!! :confused3 Amy :flower:

I just called Enterprise car rental, and they generally don't allow rentals to be picked up at one location and dropped off at another. It's best to call the rental office you wish to pick up at to inquire. I called the Long Beach Airport office and they do not allow this option :(

This is a great thread with lots of useful info! Do you have any info on the Holiday Inn San Pedro? That's where we're booked for the night before our cruise. Thanks!
Suzy

Thanks for the list! It's a big help. We're staying at the Redondo Beach Best western Sunrise Hotel the night before the cruise. We're flying into LAX . Does anyone know anything about the hotel or area and how far it is from the airport? Thanks!

AOPI57: The Redondo Beach best western is approximately 15 minutes away from LAX (you don't even have to go on the freeway). There's quite a bit to do in Redondo Beach. In addition to the shops & restaurants at the pier, there are a few restaurants close by. The Cheesecake Factory is 2 blocks away. Of course, you can always go to the beaches in the area (Redondo, Torrance, Hermosa, Manhattan).

You can either go to the pier using the 405/110 freeways or you can take a nice scenic drive around Palos Verdes peninsula to get to San Pedro.
